I'm a sophomore in college currently studying engineering and my girlfriend and I are very interested in Sweden. I'm interested to see how you both like the transition as we are seriously considering it after i graduate! (Edit: we are from America)
Hej! That sounds great! I hope you get some insight out of this! :) Just make sure you have your visa situation figured out if none of you two are EU citizens. But I think if you would potentially like to continue school here, that could help with a smoother transition.. (and it´s MUCH cheaper) :) That might be easier than getting a job here. But I am no expert in that, haha. Aside from that - if you prefer city or country life there´s great options here in Sweden. We just prefer the country life. :)
What's the "sweden book" you were talking about? :) Now imagine if you were to buy a house, quite a few people have done that route instead and it seems to a whole other level of bureaucracy :D
Oh, haha, I meant the "Sweden Bug" :) I was like "what book did I talk about?" And yes, I believe that that would be a tough one, too. But there´s more info on that out there than for buying a car, I think. Cause most Europeans just bring their own cars here. :)
HAHA! Makes more sense now :D I see, haven't thought about that but you are right! There are a few channels here on youtube renovating a cabin and living here so it's not impossible :). @@lisasomewhere88
Yeah…having the car registered on a “friend” is illegal as hell and will get you into serous trouble if your in an accident (no insurance, no taxes paid; the whole burden is put on you, even if the other person is at fault).
Stumbled into the Channel and cringes up when you considered buying a car in Southern Stockholm from a garage dealer who was offered to have "friend" to have it offical registered on his name. You are getting scammed. You pay for someone else owning the car.
Was it "his friend"? I just remember mentioning if I had a friend register in in their name.. anyways.. sketchy for sure, I don't think I would have done that either way, haha.
