I love how in the Arquebus briefing the suit's closing "good luck" has this half mocking tone. It nicely implies that he doesn't actually think you can pull this off, and they're just using you to soften up the target. It makes victory all the sweeter.
This is also pointed out by the SEVERE lack of details on the mission briefing. "Just shoot the batteries and destroy the big laser. Good luck!" 621 barely begins the mission and already faces multiple scout AC's along sandstorms and such. This is a suicide mission if I ever saw one lol
based on the dialogue from sulia , im willing to bet 621 is the equivalent to a star wars clone.the story progresses into 621 being the anomaly.OP point, the briefing is from a guy who has probably seen the other 620 AC's come through and flatline immediately. Also that was clearly a suicide mission lol
For those who have never played Armored Core. Rule #1: there is no "best" loadout, there will always be different loadouts that work on certain missions and not on others.
Yeah, theres no full commitment like Souls game Sure, some weapons ARE stupid strong like Rockets and Grenade Launchers, but if you cant even control them properly then whats the point The entire point of AC6 is to have fun with what you made
Rule #2: Legs are one of the most important parts of your mech, because they determine how much weight your vehicle can carry, as well as your movement. Your power engine / energy source is on other one as it modifies the amount of energy available, as well as how slow or fast your energy bar will recharge.
@@jokester5130 the Karasawa was only overpowered in like one or two games. everywhere else it’s balanced by having a super high equip cost, forcing you to structure your build around the weapon
That giant mech in the desert gave me goosebumps as to how massive it is but yet so fragile which really showcase that no matter how big it is there will always be a weakness.
I remember watching this and getting to the Strider part like "woah that big thing in the background of the level looks cool" then as they got closer you realize it's not in the background.... that's your target
Actually, Armored Core is probably the most unique Mecha Game by FAR Heavily customizeable, is not too floaty like Humans with Robot skins or feel like glorified tanks Armored Core Mech are their own thing, and its great
@@Morgipitmech assault was shit. In my opinion... But I had been playing MechWarrior and Armored Core for years and when mech assault came it was such a crappy arcadified version of one of my favorite settings.
@@Morgipit Mechassault was a mediocre simplification of an otherwise fantastic series. It's a shame modern MechWarrior is a bit hit or miss, but old school MW was fantastic, as is the whole battletech universe.
AC6 opened my eyes to mech stuff in games because previously my experience was like... HAWKEN, or something. Very slow and clunky mechs and I had no desire to do that. AC6 changed those feelings real quick!
I have been waiting for Armored Core to return for a LONG time. Seeing so many people ready to jump into this franchise, and seeing it come back looking better than ever just makes me happy.
Same. I actually gave up that we would ever see another one of these games. My tastes feel so so vindicated now that FromSoft has come out of the cuts with this high effort entry back into a mostly forgotten (but completely awesome) golden age series.
Yeah! I'd always been _vaguely_ interested but never got around to it (it didn't help that ACV was mostly panned so I never picked it up). Now I've been playing through all of oldgen and it's becoming for me what Monster Hunter has been for a lot of people. Rad. As. Hell.
i remember before they had a name i used to call the Strider a Mammoth because it was massive and the two saws in front made me think of tusks. That aside this game is like a dream seeing so much amazing new editions to the series i am so happy to be alive to see this game come this far since the early 90s to now
10:53 "limited to versus mode" did we need more? haha that shit was so fun AC4 has some unbeatable childhood memories changing my mech and fighting, and changing the mech and fighting AC4 arena was so satisfying and dope
@@RippahRooJizah I am hoping for a solid DLC of Co-Op missions, which I think is a reasonable hope. Operators are unfortunately a near certain loss though.
I haven't played AC since the original trilogy (AC, Project Phantasma, Master of ARENA) and I am SO. EXCITED. I was already sold on this, but if there is a Karasawa and callbacks to Nineball/Hustler One, I will be completely unable to contain my hype.
The arena is confirmed for AC6! I just got through the entirety of Vaati Vidya's deep dive into the entire franchise and thought it would be so sick to fight Nineball in this game. Can't wait it'll be my first AC and I'm already in love. This series went criminally under my radar for ages
An advise to all AC newcomers: Legs are one of the most important parts of your mech, because they determine how much weight your vehicle can carry. Your power engine / energy source is on other one as it modifies the amount of energy available, as well as how slow or fast your energy bar will recharge.
Having that lesson forcibly rammed into my head until I made 3 mechs with varied styles of combat Fafnir: meant to play keep away in the air with high energy output with low energy consumption. Simple stay in the air and pick them off until something strong comes into view and you need to send them to the junk yard with the bazooka and rockets. Down side, other than the machine gun, pretty low ammo so definitely not a clearer but still fast with good flight capabilities. Next basilisk. Based around one gimmick, stun lock you to death. Meant for close range damage with bazooka and shotgun with a quadleg setup and overboost, it's claim to fame is to hit you so hard you can't get away from it after the first hit. Keep circling around you while you are struggling to get back off the ground and just wait to get eaten. Lastly Obelisk, my favorite. Machine gun arms, missles, and a lot of ammo and power. The play style for this one, keep hitting you until you die. I wanted something that can keep hitting you with no breaks, a means of making sure, as long as you are in my sights, you will be taking damage. Down side, not the most powerful but it can take as much as it can dish out.
I'm not exagerating when i say that seeing the return of Armored core still feels unreal to me, even so close to the release Like AC has never been a beacon in the game industry, but for me and for more people than i thought actually , they are just THE games that you keep on playing every year, and that for the last 15 years. Every time i heard someone talk about AC, it was always paired with some version of the mention "one of the most important game of my life" So yeah , basically, stonk
me too its same for me and on different note its same as star lord from marvel comics like the fact people know his chacter is crasy guardians of the galaxy were like c/d teir in terms of popularly like back in the day you legit ask comics geeks about rocket racoon and they would answer who?? are you talking about??
Same. My jaw dropped at TGA. My friends, who I got into AC, immediately called it but as a longtime fan I was in denial after years of false positives. When the "feed the fire" bit happened it clicked because it evoked similar feelings to the gen 4 trailers.
I feel like there is a massive shift happening in the gaming industry. AAA being seen more as D tier, while other Studios begin to fill the market with good games, it's nice. I hope to see this continue and shitty corporations finally die out.
Super hyped for this game! Can’t wait to see what the multiplayer content looks like. I’d be super happy if they allowed co oped story missions this game.
@@Chroma710 no co-op unfortunately and the pvp is only 1v1 and 3v3. not sure how i feel about a lack of 2v2, but i'm sure the pvp will be really dynamic regardless
@@NoSmoke1 I for one think the less PvP modes the better. Fromsoft games don't usually have high player counts for long periods of time in multiplayer. This is a mech game too, it is niche by definition. If Fromsoft added too many modes to PvP, the already tiny player base would've been too divided. I think they had a choice to either remove 2v2 or 3v3, and choose 2v2 because traditionally 2v2 modes just become two people dueling each other. 3v3 and up is where the group battles actually happen.
@@Erick-tv8oq yeah that's a very fair point, 2v2 would just split the player base further. I've never actually played a pvp mech game before so I didn't really think of it, but yeah it definitely would just devolve into 2 simultaneous 1v1s lol
@@NoSmoke1 Every game I ever played that had 1v1 and 2v2 available eventually had 2v2 turn into two people dueling each other lmao. Even worse is when you want to play it like an actual 2v2 and the community keeps shit talking you for it.
I was a huge MechWarrior fan as a kid. I remember Heavy Gear, Activision made it when they lost the MW license. The first game was a MW clone, but then the sequel became it's own thing. I really need to play it one day, assuming it can run on modern PCs
Its very immersion breaking for a mech to have a magic insta repair to your armore. However gameplay wise I have heard people say that having 3 heals instead of an extra 15 or so thousand HP puts the pressure on you to stay active and engaged in the fight especially when taking big damage.
@@TheTrveMothlord Seeing the health pool on par with AC1 to Last Raven, but seeing the chunk of damage that can happen in this game similar to AC4 to VD just from the previews, I say it's warranted... Still gonna try my best to get through missions without relying on repairs.
@TheTrveMothlord I see what you're saying, but maybe instead of repair kits, they could have done a Mechwarrior style repair bays littered around the level, though that might break up gameplay too much
the only thing I like about the sekiro bar is that its now deobfuscating the stagger meter from 5th generation AC you are no longer guessing when you need to hide because you can see it rather than have constant alarms blaring at you which might be too late
With the imminent launch of AC6, I want to give a shoutout to many Armored Core content creators, because they deserve a lot of love for their efforts after all the years and specially since this franchise will get more popular (of course this includes Iron Pinneapple, Oroboro, Zentreya, Fightincowboy, VaatiVidya, and YOU): - The Lore Hunter - Silver Glint - AesirAesthetics - Armoredcorelore - Love_Arc - Sinclair Lore - Anatolia's Mercenary - MrHappy1227 (though he is more focused on Final Fantasy) - Rubicon Dogs - Zealous (Znote) - Cleric - FromCheng - Writing on Games - Above Average Gaming - Alanah Pearce
Dude jetpack boss looks really cool can't wait to see how the other bosses play I have waited a long time for this game and now it's coming a lot of eye candy going on here
There is even better gameplay out there to see than the official preview. I recommend "Armored Core 6 Combat is an Absolute Spectacle" by Boomstick for 3m of curated combat you've never seen before.
Having seen Max go about this live was really genuinely raw. Can't wait for him to recreate 5he Virtual On mechs and/or Zone of the Enders. Z Gouki from Cyberbpts? Maybe, it's all up to Max and his wild imagination. Oh, yes the Steel Battalion controller part is also something to look forward to.
It’s so weird because I’ve always loved mechs and robots and explosions and lasers but I’ve never found a game that I liked but now with the last 10+ years of from soft molding my taste in video games there’s absolutely no way I’m not going to play the shit out of this And feel right at home with a big smile on my face.
Gotta love FROM. They check in their community and see what they go nuts for, then find a way to implement those mechanics in their future projects without ever stopping innovating. Most western developers should take note about how the job's done. Still not gonna preorder because that's a practice that has to die, and do so badly. But it's gonna be day 1 for sure.
I CANNOT WAIT to go back to my roots with older Armor Cores and make a STRIGHT UP high propulsion pure melee build with EMP / shield (New here), and a single machine gun. Making Gundam Epyon here lol.
Member AC1 was on the very first PlayStation 1 demo disc along with pa rapper the rapper metal gear solid crash and more dang takes me back to the old days.
"Why don't you start a sewing club together... and stitch that damn mouth of yours SHUT!" 10/10 dialogue xD kinda hope its possible to move the subtitles to the bottom of the screen to see it tho or at least change the font color
Its going to be really cool having RU-vid and the internet to help with builds now. Instead of spending days trying to figure something out like back in the day
