Yes Exactly. They've got us living like slaves. I quit my job about 17 years ago, and no matter what I did I could only make enough money to live in my grandparents basement. So yes, something needs to be done.
Higher wages=a stronger economy. I actually think median wage is a more relevant economic indicator than GDP. GDP came about in WW2 to calculate the war capacity of a country but for the average living standard of people that's not terribly relevant. Median wages are also the resilience of an economy, the higher the wages are the more hits the economy can take before crumbling. A big reason why Europe fared better in Covid than the US is because Europe's median wage is higher so people could afford to stay home and could afford price increase. In the US the system just doesn't have that kind of wiggle room.
please stand for presidency! as a foreigner I request you Sir. please save the dignity democracy and what we used to love about USA in the 80s-90s- not the delusion of it.
Bernie needs to get on the Green Party ticket with Jill Stein. If you remember she offered him the head of the ticket in 2016. I hope she does it again. Jill needs Bernie's vote getting ability and Bernie needs Jill's ballot access. Bernie / Jill 2024. The USA needs Bernie and Jill now more than ever!!!
There are some great UNIONS, but there are some that are worse than some companies. Ive worked for really good unions and Ive worked for very crappy unions. Im not sure what the differences are in these different unions, but whatever it is definitely needs to be fixed. In one place we voted out a union and the work environment became much better. Maybe that union was really corrupt and was there for the wrong reasons. BUT I will say a good union is a good choice and I will always support a good union.
Our government has done almost nothing to address the massive corporate digital overreach and lack of consumer digital protections in software, videogames, and movies. Right now, many of us are sick of disgusting, privacy-invading, copyright-stealing, ownership-barring practices from these massive corporations, and in turn, we have been moving open source to leverage the greater and humanitarian community power. However, this option for the games and movies industries is not nearly as effective as the software industry. When will our politicians address digital consumer protection? How long will it take for our legislators to catch up to the corporate wild west that is our ever-increasing digital society?
Very much. People should push for that. The Biden administration has largely been about fixing the problems of the Trump administration, repairing the damage to unions and making long overdue investments. I think the next term needs to be about new stuff and regulating cyberspace is a big one.
Thank you two! I support flight attendants! I wish I could be a flight attendant. I live in Tucson though. That said I wish I could bargain for better wages but the courier company has its drivers as independent contractors to avoid that and other benefits for us drivers. Which is illegal.
As a businessman/business owner, *I* *LOVE* *UNIONS!* I need what ALL businesses need: I need Customers. Customers are people with money. Union Workers demand and get a Living Wage, aka MONEY. Union Workers become my costumers. Evidently, non-union workers are too timid and too ignorant to unionize, they choose to be poor, they are Not customers, they choose to be slaves. UNIONS CREATE MIDDLE CLASS!
Support flight attendants, workers deserve a living wage. We must demand decent pay, education, health care and housing. Thanks to everyone working for a better place to work.
Give flight attendants better pay and raise the cost of airfare for everyone else. That's a stupid plan. Just like how the unaffordable care act increased costs for many to provide benefits to a few. Corporations will always pass costs on to the customer. Or like how insulin benefits resulted in increased cost of other types of meds, one person gets a benefit while others pay for it and the company sees their profits increase. We need systemic change. Unions are not the solution. Piecemeal changes just shell games the economic burden around while corporations continue to rake in record profits. We need systemic change. Solutions that work for everyone at the same time. We need universal health care, we need free college and trade school, we need a minimum wage that is a living wage, we need affordable housing for everyone. Just to start the process.
Bernie, I hope you take any opportunity to replace Biden as nominee! The video showing Biden freeze-up is very concerning! I don't think his brain can make it 4 more years. I would vote for you, Bernie, in a second!
BERNIE.... when was the transition, from Million with an M, to Billion with a B, and Trillion with a T? just like kilabyte, to megabyte to gigabyte? The difference is astronomical, like million 39 seconds, and billion 39 years 😷☕🇺🇲🗽 while people can't afford food, or listen to talking heads, and more lip service
