The petitions against the bulldozer action were heard in the Supreme Court on Tuesday (October 1). During this, Justice BR Gavai said that we are in a secular system. Action should be taken whether the illegal construction is of a Hindu or a Muslim.
At the same time, Justice KV Vishwanathan said that if there are two illegal structures and you demolish only one of them on the basis of the allegation of a crime, then questions will definitely arise. During this, there came an occasion when Solicitor General Tushar Mehta took a dig at lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

Manu Singhvi types survive because the present justice delivery mechanism is faulty, decadent, unsuitable to India. Here they keep attacking only Hindu community, religion and Gods but rush to a Muslim criminal sent to jail by the court to meet his family. This has to end. Besides, the nexus of lawyer/judge families needs to be discussed. Manu Singhvi is the son of Late Singhvi ji who was a prominent Jansangh/BJP leader. Same about judges who may be appointed because of their family. What is this "sanad" mechanism? It is like pensions being being paid by Government to rulers who had opposed the 1857 beginning of the freedom movement.
