Perhaps nothing illuminates the loss of Chris Cornell more than this video. Watching Soundgarden play their hearts out with a bunch of vocalists who are singing their best, but simply are not Cornell.
Very impossible shoes to fill.. but out of all.. I think Taylor Momsen did an excellent job on Drawing flies and loud love.. give them all credit for doing their best.
@@v6spiderrox Come on.. there are plenty of excellent singers out there who could have been on that stage, honouring Cornell's songs. What the fuck has Miley Cyrus to do with Soundgarden's music and Rock at all?? This whole happening looks like to me just a display for posers and wannabes... Poor Soundgarden, i'm vomiting. This whole CIRCUS is all about money.
Best of the bunch for sure. Don't know if a whole tour would be lucrative though, but I guess they say that with any big band that has to replace the singer.
@___ ___ 1) Momson showed the gutteral quality you're going on about. 2) Zen Guerrilla is a respected band, especially by the members of Soundgarden so get over yourself.
Came here for 52:51, it sounds like an irish bagpipe tune (Chris) with indian flavor (Kim). Chills. What an emotional goodbye for Chris fans around the world. Thank you, guys.
it would have been better if they would have invited Chris´ living brother, Peter Cornell whose voice is the closest to Chris voice and tone color .... just type Peter Cornell here on youtube and listen to his album
i totally agree! peter sounds so much like his lil brother chris cornell. its amazing how both have such talent. i think perhaps peter and Vicky were fighting at this time. im not sure. maybe thats why he wasnt there.
Hard to choose, but Drawing Flies with Taylor Momson was probably the best one here. Totally underrated SG song. She seemed to hold back too much on Rusty Cage (nervousness?), but in Drawing and Loud Love she did great. Soundgarden did good choosing her band to support them two years back.
she messed up alot with the timing with rusty cage i believe it threw her off. I thought all the vocalists weren't good for this concert which is sad they should have gotten myles kennedy and william duvall to handle chris cornells vocals. taylor was okay she had the best tone compared to everyone else but i didn't think these were strong performances on each of the songs she received to do.
My favorite part of this video is how tickled Peter Framptom -- an absolute freakin' legend -- seems to be to jam with Soundgarden. Like it was a life-long wish come true.
He's already up there w the rock greats .he really took the best of Bohnam and all the greats and took their different unique fills, timing ,ect ect, about as far as it can go....I think Cameron is more exciting than Grohl ,by far,on drums..personal choice both masters. Entire Seattle crew are now legends !
What a setlist! Such a loss of a wonderful talent. I remember exactly where I was when I found out Chris had died. I was sitting in the corridor of my college music building outside of a classroom resting my back against the wall. I had a free session and I was chilling with a few guys. One of our friends comes down the corridor with this shocked look on his face. I asked him "what's up?" It was in this very moment that I found out that my favourite vocalist was gone. I was numb. Later that day on the bus home, I sat at the back of the top deck of an empty bus and listened to Temple Of The Dog from start to finish with tears in my eyes. RIP Chris
Thank you so much for capturing this moment for all of us. Taylor singing Rust Cage made me get goosebumps! I was too young to see them on tour and was planning on seeing them this tour. 😔
I was granted one of the greatest gifts anyone could hope for in life. I spent a few years on tour with sound garden as both Jason then ben’s tech and also in my earlier days also being Matt’s tech as well. I did Chris’s guitars for a few mins and floundered terribly at it. I have some of my finest memories along with some very sad memories of those days. Chris’s passing brought tears to my eyes of both joy and sadness again. My soundgarden days were very emotional days as theirs were. My favourite part of this show is the part that brought back the best memories and that is the end with the feedback which we sometimes referred them as guitar surfing. All the members were and are the greatest people I have been blessed to count as dear friends. Ben being the closest as we are both equally emotional in different ways.
No one's a Cornell replacement (irreplaceable), but Taylor Momson fits in with the band so nicely...great chemistry and her pipes are amazing. Props to the other Taylor's wail at the start of and throughout I Awake though!
When asked what his favourite Bond song was, Daniel Craig stated that he loved the song "You know my name" featured in Casino Royal. Chris Cornell was so unique and talented, he could sing anything to anyone. Some vocalists struggled at this gig........most would.
Simply awesome. Cornell lives forever in our hearts. Soundgarden still sounding likes in the 90s. This is my first time seeing this show....a couple of tears before the band introduction. 🙏🏽
although I'm sure stuff like "Feed back session" are improvised on the spot and are never duplicated completely identically, If you dig that sort of noise rock stuff like I do you can search "Feedbacchanal" by soundgarden. It's from the live artists den recording. Enjoy.
I'll tell you what , if Taylor ever gets past her childish ,immature, Satan worship crap ,and starts worrying about music she's pretty damn good here!!!
Trying to build this channel following so please don't reupload on another channel at this time. Embedding in articles/sharing is fine and maybe reupload in a week or so. Thanks for asking and for watching - more to come
Thanks for your reply! I was hoping that I can reupload it to a Chinese video sharing website, (not abother channel) because most of us have no access to RU-vid. Thank you again for the video!❤ I'll reupload it a week later!
Vicky leaves much to be desired as a human being. That's why none of them were there. They challenged the widow's motives all along... can't have that now can we. Her mother called Lily a test tube baby, gloating about her daughter being able to get pregnant right away with no fertility help. Disgusting.
I remember seeing SG in 94 and waited and waited for Outshined: They didn't play it. Can hear me on the recording before the encore saying "They're not gonna fucking play Outshined".... Lolz
If this was the best the world can find to help fill the Cornell void then we are in worse shape than I thought. They said Chris was one on a million?. seems he was one in 7.7 billion. Lets hope he wasn't one on 50 billion. I don't think any of us will survive the wait.
I still wish they would had done like Linkin Park and left the mic stand alone with a light shining on it while the fans or an audio of Chris singing played. I mean the singers who covered the songs did great, I just think it would have been a great moment.
Marcus Durant nailed it. Great choice, i mean no one could sing Chris but Chris tho. I Stand With Soundgarden. Hate all of these fine musicians were all lied to and taken advantage of by the circus leader. MC50✌ Soundgarden ❤♾ Taylor Hawkins omg!! Him singing I Awake, that brought tha tears. Seems like it got to SG guys too. Kim had to wipe his eyes. Damn.
I watch this thing with this psychic lady today on spirits being able to see into your mind if you think about him and I'm like great Chris Cornell's going to think I'm a total pervert but I'm sure I'm not the only I love Chris Cornell and I wish that he was still with us rest in peace Chris Cornell
Cornell said about religion, "I don't follow any particular one. … Ultimately I think I'm sort of a freethinker and kind of open. … So many bad things-as well as good things-have happened based on people just sort of blindly following religion that I kind of feel like I want to stay away from any type of specific denomination or any religion period. If for no other reason than just that. I don't want to be involved with anything or condone any school of thought that at some point and in some way causes the death of innocent people, or tragedies where initial fantastic ideas [are] distorted. Like the life, for example, of Jesus is well-documented. It's corroborated by different people, who had different backgrounds, and different levels of education. And they wrote about it. We know that this guy existed, and we know pretty much what he said, and it's pretty simple. Everything from that point on in terms of wars and fighting over land and territories and religious things, none of that was even included in anything he said. His message was pretty simple, be really nice to each other and everything will be okay."
Yeah nice story! Except you're completely wrong and have no place mentioning the horrible cults you call religion! Pay attention to the lyrics he's written. He's from a bible thumping brainwashed area. Listen to holy water and wooden Jesus to just name a few. He meant you don't need religion to be spiritual! Organized religion is a sickness that should be taxed or eradicated. Responsible for every war and act of genocide in history
Interview Request magazine 1994.Q - Did you attend Catholic school when you were young? Chris - "Actually, our mom pulled us out because we were about to get kicked out for the reason that we were both too inquisitive. That's kind of a testament to our mom, who allowed us enough space to kind of question shit. With a religion like that, it's not designed for anyone to question. Being young people who have a natural curiosity and half a brain, you're going to start finding inconsistencies, which there are tons of in organized religion ." @@RobsMadWorld yeah you're right, sorry about that little outburst of mine! I would usually mind my own business. I think I was a little amped up because someone asked the press Secretary why the president made a certain decision and her response was God told him to do that. Again my sincerest apologies, you didn't deserve that response at all!✌
WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOUNDGARDEN THIS IS MC50 FUCK YES KIMMY THAYIL WOOOOOOOOOOOOO I HAVE 3 FRONT ROW TICKETS TO SEE MC50 IN TENESSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
