Please do a full show going more in depth on the border/illegals issue from the biblical point of view. Hearing the wording of that question at 9:31 made me angry. Illegals are not immigrants. Immigrants are not illegals. Not even Christians seem to get this distinction. That's like announcing you are leaving your house unlocked for anyone who wants to come in, eat your food, sleep in your bed, use your possessions, and run up your internet and utility bills. Nobody would do that and then claim it's biblical. As you touched on, even ancient Israel had rules about foreigners who wanted to join that community. They didn't just let anyone in. They had to conform to certain standards. But people like that questioner NEVER address that. Even strong, biblical churches will not touch this issue. If they do, it's only from the standpoint of giving help and sharing the gospel. Of course we should share the gospel. But giving $ and other things to illegals who are taking advantage of our country, while Americans go without, is unbearable. It's not right. Christians/churches refuse to address this problem.

My question is: What do you think of Mike Pompeo? The reason I'm questioning is: Pastor Jack Hibbs, who now obviously in the mainstream news now, giving he prayed for congress here recently, Feb 2024? Pastor Jack has had Mike Pompeo on his HAPPENING Now stage in his church, claiming his Christianity. I've been heart warmed concerning Mike Pompeo, because my ON Line Pastor Jack, vouches for Mr. Pompeo, even to the point of allowing Mr.Pomeo to write the Forward to his new book, THE DAZE OF DECEPTION Here's my concern, Tucker Carlson has reported during his interview with Julian Asange's wife, and another interview, stating Mike Pompeo as director of CIA, tried to have Julian Asange assassinated. All these gentlemen mention here, claim to be Christian. Not only are the debased lefties lying 24/7....Now I don't understand men claiming Christianity yet speak of such things, and doing things as such. Who is lying? WE ARE IN THE DAYS OF GREAT DECEPTION!......😢

Wishing for a leader like Putin is a judgement on the outcomes someone of his ability could deliver for one's own country in comparison with what our disastrous Western leaders are delivering. Whatever his faults may be, Putin probably matches up to the best a nation like Russia can hope for at the present time. In contrast, people like Johnson or Sunak here in the UK are empty shells as people, let alone able to offer the kind of wisdom and courage needed for our present time.

Here are a few points 1. Putin grew up in a system totally different form ours. I have heard he made his money through crime after the USSR collapsed and that may be true. It does not mean that he has not changed although I can in no way substantiate this either way. He is a patriot. Although I have talked to several Russian people that loved him I know others feel differently. 2. NATO broke its word within a handful of years and continued to do so. They drew first blood over 20 years ago. The 2014 meddling by our intel agencies is a second strike. We knew damn well he would never allow Ukraine to join NATO. We have known about the level of corruption and ethnic cleansing in eastern Ukraine by western Ukraine for almost 20 years as well. Many Russian speaking Ukranians were pleased that he took the actions he did over the last decades. I personally agree with his actions when Ukraine rushed to join NATO. We would have done the same in a similar position. I hope. 3. In regard to the question posed about immigration and Christianity I would like to clear some things up as well. First of all, immigrants fleeing their countries due to violence are required to seek asylum in the first place they come to. This is being ignored and they are being encouraged as well as compensated to come here. Legal immigration is fine but even it has limits. As far as the Christianity comment is concerned I would like to point out that the institution of the church, in every religion, has corrupted the true spirit of the root system. All religions spring from the same root. That root was not a religion. It was a spiritually based system focused on experiential self development. It taught constant introspection as well as outer awareness, self discipline in thought, emotion and action and while some who persevered were awarded with the 7 gifts of the spirit, all were awarded with a level of Intuitive Understanding relative to their development. Vicarious salvation is a tool of the church. It promotes irresponsibility for ones self and makes an idol of sacred symbols. It is also horrible to promise someone they are saved by simply asking, like someone else can pay for your misdeeds. The ancients taught that the soul is an embryo, a seed, that must be discovered and nurtured while still possessing a physical form. Without this there will only be repetition and eventual annihilation. 4. Unfortunately the modern institutions have promoted the idea that one must always put other before ones own interests while creating an economic system that does just that. Charity begins at home. Its okay to help if you are truly guided by the Spirit to do so. Anything else is meddling in someone elses fate. They will be deprived because of your help. We learn by experience. Very few are able to profit by guidance. 5. On the abortion issue: I voted Dem by tradition until 2016. I had finally started to see proof of what was going on. The abortion issue is still difficult though due to spiritual concerns. Although it has been said that the soul seed does not fully connect with the body until 7 years of age I do not agree with retroactive, late term or even mid term abortions. I also disagree with a total ban on them though. I think it is okay in cases of rape, incest and threat to life of the mother or if the child has severe abnormalities. I would be okay with letting girls under 18 have them. I may even be okay with everyone else having access to ONE in their lifetime if they did not have one as a teen but I feel this would be abused in some way if it were not carefully monitored. 6. Even though communism ruled Russia for quite a while true Christianity survived by going underground. In many ways the Eastern Orthodox sects remained truer than we have in the West.

Do you find it hypocritical that we protect eagle and turtle eggs and, yet, some promote abortion due to a belief that babies are not human beings? Doctors should attempt to save BOTH the life of the mother and baby and, then, work from that point. Clearly, you do not see the true value of life. Period. I have seen an amazing lady who survived a botched abortion and a lady who was the product of a rape-11 years younger than her mother. A desire to have convenience or to avoid embarrassment seems less than noble. Funny how that ppl who are in favor of abortion are enjoying the rights they wish to deny the unborn-life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Hello Mr. Taunton, I have been following your podcasts for almost a year now and enjoy your work. So much so, that I signed up to be a paid user of your "Tome" app. I was on it a couple of times, however, I have not been able to sign in for the past few weeks, it seems to be a problem with my password. When I enter my email, I am getting the message that “there is no user record corresponding with this identifier. The user may have been deleted”. Why am I mentioning it here, of all places? I have already contacted your care center three times over the past month with no answer. There is no phone number, and I have no idea how to get in touch with your team. I signed up to use this program for my grade 12 high school student. I would like to get in soon. Can someone please check the support emails and look into this asap. Thank you, Laura

46:21 - Can Atheists Have Morality? I am so tired of this question and the insincere way it is often posed by atheists. The point/argument is not that atheists can't do moral acts. The point/argument is that without a transcendent standard for good and evil, the very terms, "good" and "evil" have no meaning. Good and evil / moral and immoral become just one person or one group's opinion over another's. They never address this point. Never. It's always, "But I do good things!"

i don't like this morality argument regarding atheists. i don't consider myself an atheist but i don't think there is someone up there to whos ideals i must adhere. and if i did, i'd probably do the opposite because i'm just that defiant and stubborn. anyway. i don't want to write a whole book here but i do think there are many ways in which to rationally think about human nature and feelings and instincts and deduce moral values from that. because that's what made us survive for millions of years and therefore we should try and adhere to basically just our feelings. given we are still psychologically healthy that is. which is nigh impossible in todays world. i'll give you that. but it's rational alright, wouldn't you say? maybe, as an example: there are groups of people i don't like. i don't hate them but i don't like them. i don't want to be anywhere near them but i wouldn't dream of going over to them and harming them in some way. what would be the point of that? they can live their own lives over there as long as i can live my life over here. if it comes to confrontations there should be talk about a solution and not violence. if it comes to violence i will do whatever it takes to protect my own. but that's only if i absolutely have to. one thing that tells me that is basic empathy. the other thing is - and this would be the rational part: i don't want to live in a world where every conflict always sparks violence, so i will work towards avoiding it. it's completely logical. if you don't have the empathy to keep you from unnecessarily harming other humans, you can still get there on the basis of rational thinking. you don't want to be on the receiving end and so you shouldn't be on the other one. because it will cause resentment. i think it's simple, really. i'm not free of prejudice and i think that's perfectly normal. but every single person will be given a chance to prove me wrong. because that's the atmosphere that i want to live in. i don't want to be randomly attacked because of my skin color. i feel like i'm not being clear enough (i'm also kinda foggy because i'm a little sick rn) but i hope you get the idea.
@IdeasHaveConsequences
@IdeasHaveConsequences 5 месяцев назад
I think you're missing the point. You said: "if it comes to confrontations there SHOULD [my capitalization] be talk about a solution and not violence." Why "should" there be talk about a solution? In a godless world, there are no absolute rules, no higher laws, no values, no justice, no meaning. There is only what happens.
