I'm preparing a €2500 Warhammer army for someone who was forced to sell their hobby stuff last year. As a bonus to this whole army we're building and giving away i decided to add some extra units and models painted by artists on fiverr. So i asked artists on fiverr to follow my painting tutorial to see if they could match the paint style and colors.

Do you ever do battle damage on your models ? I only ask because when I was younger I’d do battle damage on my ww2 tanks but never thought to do it on my 40k until just now watching this video

@@benjaminkingsley3902 Actually he is not. He just does not agree with expanding while the borders (like the Farsight Enclaves) are not secured and get rampaged all the time. So he is still in for the greater good, but on his own terms.

Being 86h into a 68 figures TAU army commission, without having started the fine detailing even, I can totally relate to the desire to keep to myself. They're just fantastic models and I don't even 40K. :D The color scheme on your army is just fantastic.

The $50 broadside battlesuit looks the best I think, but the painter probably knew who you were and went way above the pay grade. That definitely wasn't a $50 paint job!

I have only made good experiences on Fiverr as well. Had a less known painter (dunno if i can give his „tag“ here), do a Custodes force for me on an intermediate level. It took a while, but honestly, i am more than happy with the result, it was comparably cheap, and he’s a super nice and forthcoming person!

I would like to see some sort of paint contest for some viewers. Like pick 8-12 people and give them a month time. After that, you showcase the figures and let the viewers decide who wins. You could do a prize like 100 bucks or a figure painted and signatured by you would be cool. Fiverr videos are very interesting, but they‘re expansive and all looking very good. But to see a view figures from hobby painters and beginners would be interesting too! You could give them some advices or just show the personal Art style of the person :)

I painted some figurines in high school. Still have my 5 metal figures but they were nowhere near these levels. I had much better luck painting green and tan army men realistic. These are beautiful! Love the videos.

My spin on this idea would be to 'commission' a few viewers to paint a model, follow a tutorial of yours, then giving a constructive review of the paint job. I imagine most of your viewers would also paint for free, saving you the $$$

Man these guys are really not charging what they're worth. When you're this good at an extremely specialized skill you gotta pump those numbers up and actually get paid fairly. This is the equivalent of paying the CEO the exact same salary as someone who just started a part time job earlier that week.

when you commission someone to paint, do you send them the model kit already assembled, do you pay for them to buy the kit so they have full control of the assembly and painting, etc.? What is the actual process involved?

Do you have a warhammer club nearby? Maybe you can go in there and ask if someone have stuff they don't need anymore they could share. Should be enough to get you started with some old brushes and almost empty paint pots :)
