I was expecting you to have a bunch of friends filming you as you propose to her. But hey, just you two at the dog beach melted our hearts. Congratulations! Even on this video, I learned that moments like this doesn't have to be grand and one simple camera on a tripod is more than enough to capture a moment that will last for a life time. If anything, this makes it feel more genuine, and not just a show for everyone. Although with his expertise, he could’ve easily done. The only thing I wished for was clearer audio. Beautiful moment.
@@petersimplifeI think the only problem with that is just the method that he used to record it. As far I'm aware he usually uses lavalier/lapel mics and I think here he was trying to be more subtle and used a shotgun mic with the gain turned up in post.

I really like how this was framed up. I agree, it wouldn't have been as magical with the camera there in front of you both. This feels like we're witnessing their moment from afar, and I think being barely able to hear helps sell that this moment isn't for all of us, but just for the both of them. It was so funny seeing Kari being so happy with her metal detector that she was distracted and basically focused on making an unboxing video and then seeing Gene sneak away to do his business with the ring without any suspicion 😂

ok, I consider myself a strong man, but bro, this makes my tears fall down, congrats!!! the big question now is: as a photographer/videographer, who is gonna take your wedding photos? that's a big question too, in my case, I'm gonna take them myself, lol. I understand the feeling, cause I'm in the same situation, sort of. when the pandemic started, I wanted to propose to my girlfriend, but couldn´t have a chance to figure out her finger size, and I wanted to ask her best friend, but I hadn´t her contact number, so can't ask for the number without getting some questions about it, my girl is smart, but on that time, something great happened, her best friend, wanted to me to help her with some photo-edits, and that was my chance to ask her. when i knew, the size, i started to look for the ring, but we were on pandemic, cant go out, so, everything had to be online, no chance to see the ring itself, just photos, when i finally bought the ring, i had to wait for a while(pandemic), she got sick, and i was unable to see her, so had to wait for about 3 months, with that ring in my room laughing at me, when she got better, we finally could meet, so i started to plan on how to propose, the i took her to a lonely place, a beautiful with a lake, at sunset, in a restaurant, i planned for weeks, so, i asked for the meal, wine, and some decoration, i just told her that itwas a celebration for her recovery, and take some photos of us (im a wedding photographer) she was so exicted, but had no clue on my plans, i was about to die, so freaking nervous, after the photos, i was against the sunset, in front of the lake, and that was the moment, the hardest question i ever asked in my whole life, i thinks that my words had no sense at all, but she cryed, and we are getting married next april 13!!💍👰🤵♂
