It's also eczema/dermatitis and of course, there's days when I'm good and days when it's really bad. And even with that, I have success in dating, because there's girls who can understand it and not look down at you because you have this skin issue. Girls have them too but they hide it with make up and of course, there's many normal girls who don't mind that you have this issue. I don't know how far into treating your skin you are, but what you eat and how you shower and what cosmetics you use. But even with that, sometimes it still gets bad.

You never know. Some girls are used to only being asked by guys who come and say creepy stuff. So it's always worth a try to come and approach like a normal person, with a decent compliment, which also should(but doesn't have to be completely) be true. Like "hey, I like your dress". You can easily make her day just like that and she'd be amazed that finally there's someone who didn't approach her with a body compliment. Or she can be upset that you don't care about her "hot body" of which she's confident and rather notice something she doesn't care much about. Again, you never know, just find a confident and relaxed approach and once, there'll be a cool girl who'll look at you and think you're good for her!

I would partially agree and disagree. While some could have thought that, it's definitely a possibility, I'm one of those people where shyness is my fatal flaw and complete strangers showing interest in me sets off tornado sirens in my head. If I got to have more of a conversation, perhaps even become friendly with him first, then yeah, I'd be much warmer to the idea. You are right of course, the first date is getting to know them, but I could never do it with an entirely blank slate, I need something to at least create an initial foundation first. Could be something as simple as him mentioning off-hand that he likes musicals, or maybe he just told me to watch out for the bad step I was about to fall off of. Doesn't have to be grand, just something. Who knows what the reason could be to make me need a little foundation first. Is it my unbearable shyness that makes me clam up to a complete stranger? Maybe I'm afraid to waste his time? Perhaps I fear that he's not actually interested but is looking to take advantage, manipulate, or possibly harm me? I'm quite unattractive so I tend to automatically regard interest in me as a little suspicious. I guess that will take some soul searching to find the big reason, but those are all strong contenders. I would compare it to this: while a cigarette lighter is inadequate and can't light your way more than an inch in front of your face, it's better than wandering blindly in complete darkness. But that's just for me, I'm not speaking for anyone else or saying this is an iron-clad rule. I applaud anyone who can say yes in the dark, I really do! Takes some chutzpah that I wish I had.
