biggest downside imo is the monetization with over 99% of mounts being un-earnable simply via gameplay

I hate that a lot of games just removed the idea of EARNING things via gameplay

it's called seals of endeavor. you can put the effort in and in a year or two, you can have the rarest mounts in the game. people are just 1.) lazy and 2.) impatient. So you make up bald-faced lies like "un-earnable". lol.

eso+ is such a good deal. people focus on complaining about the craft bag, but in exchange for supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of the game, for 150 a year, 15 dollars a month, the cost of a single meal these days from a delivery service, you get the equivalent number of crowns to buy a big purchase, plus you get daily rewards every day which just last month included an incredible home, things like 100,000 gold several times a year, pets, rare items in game, etc. etc. It's a no brainer.

​@@provisionalhypothesis Your math is.. weird. If you don't buy crown-stuff you are still at 180-190 / year. Here it's about 12$ per month (=144/y) + (!) 40$ for the cheapest version of the next raid once a year. And no... the developement-costs of the new areas are definitively NOT more than 40$ / player, otherwise no tripple-A-Game with just 60-70$ for multiple years of sometimes from-the-sratch-developement, with servers for multiplayer-versions and ongoing support working on bugs etc. would be profitable. And tbh - developement-costs are also pretty "optimized". The yearly questmaps are small and short (most people i know are finishing them in like 2-3 evenings), dungeons are the highlight, but are not treated like it - even the older ones have a ton of known bugs. Everything beside the raids is mostly recycled dungeon-bosses and grind. That's why i stick to the dungeons and raids. 🙂 While that with the seals is true, it is still endless grind and probably one of the most boring activities in the game. So it's hundreds of Hours of worktime, NOT skill or competition, just time, to use one specific texture on your ingame-mount. Though, i'm still perfectly happy with my mount - i got a mount fitting my toon PERFECTLY, a radiant apex dark frost-atronach-steed from one of the only 5 Boxes i've ever bought years ago xD I know one guy trying to get it too who spent over 200$, without any success, when it came out first. ^^ (that was far before seals and crystals)

@@GourmGames It's not a good analogy at all. eso is an incredible game with a ton of lore, fun, great times to be had. this type of whining and complaining that dominates online discourse is BS. I bet these people all still play, too.
