There is a movie/doc about the brand..the brand was started i think bij een journalist.. who was researching the cacao branch and the fairtrade brands.. they were kind of shocked and wanted to make a change.. In the NL its very populair.. and it is soooo tasty.. if you ever in Amsterdam you really should check out the tonychocolony bar! Or make your combine your own chocobar at the store..
So out of all these different combinations, I find it very difficult to pick a favourite. However, I can say that my absolute favourite of all Tony’s Chocolonely flavour combinations is Milk chocolate and Sea Salt Caramel. followed closely by the Crispy Wafer and Milk Chocolate. I love Tony’s and what they stand for. I hardly ever buy Cadbury or Nestle (though i avoid all Nestle products due their shady business practices) these days due to the fact that Tony’s is delicious and have fantastic ethics.
I am happy that we have this brand already in the Philippines. I gained familiarity of this brand when I was working for a Netherlands-based company. Looking forward to the other flavors!
The chocolate sounds lovely. Supporting a brand that works to save children labourers - hopefully, some lactose-free options will be available at some point!
I find white chocolate a little sickly, but love it when it's paired with something sour or salty, for example white chocolate and raspberry, or white chocolate and salted peanut
I couldn’t agree more about white chocolate. It’s far too sweet for me and I am a chocolate-aholic! I’ve seen these bars before but had no idea they stood for such a wonderful cause. I will be buying them now for sure!
I love white chocolate. Its creamy and has a unique taste. I do prefer regular chocolate though, especially dark. I eat 100% dark chocolate for a decently healthy dessert
Nah I don't like white chocolate, I can eat it but if I had to choose between real chocolate and white chocolate I'd choose real chocolate. White chocolate isn't even real chocolate cuz it has no coco beans LOL
You are very right: white chocolate is not chocolate; it's just sugar and cream. My favorite Tony's is sea salt and almond dark chocolate. Nice because it's also vegan.
Omg in italy the word for “nut” is “dry fruit” (not dried) and I’ve only now realized why we call it that 🤯. I feel so dumb right now but had no idea where nuts came from lol
I totally agree with you! White chocolate isn't technically chocolate because it doesn't have any cocoa liquor (sp?) in it. I find both milk and white chocolate too sweet.. I'm more of a dark/semisweet chocolate girl. I love that Tony's is doing their part to correct the inequity in the chocolate industry!
No, I don't think that's what happened. They were taken off of a non-official list though. It was because the factory that produces their slave-free chocolate, also produces other chocolate that isn't fair trade.
