man seeing you on the bike brings me back to my high school days in China, now I’m in UK missing my homeland, and my bike times, the breeze, mornings and nights , thank you Ollie
McD Malaysia has fried drumsticks for years already (better than KFC, available in spicy & non-spicy) and the pie fillings change like monthly. We have had mango and durian before. They like to use local fruits so pineapple is common. McD here has chicken porridge for breakfast & it's quite good.
In Canada, the menu is basically the same as the ones in the US and pretty standard. Burgers, fries, nuggets, and desserts. Used to bring the kids there for the toys collection. They also gave out glasses years ago. We have one set that is just classic. Square-shaped thick glasses with Disney characters that are so durable and dishwasher-proof. Now the grandkids use them when they come over.
Actually I think you should do another video on McDonald's morning, which may be interesting for non-Chinese. e.g. congee and 油條. And for me, when I visit Paris, I found frozen vegetables in the morning, which I couldn't taste in my hometown Hong Kong.
Wow. You can leave your bike anywhere you want. Man, I am envious. I parked and locked my electric bike in San Francisco. Within 15 minutes, it was stolen. Man.
In 2018, I visited a Guangdong McDonald's. I ordered a small iced tea. It cost about $3, more than what I would have paid in the US, about $1.00. In 2019, in Fuzhou, my order of two pieces of KFC chicken, cost a little more than what I would have paid back home. A cup of regular charbuck in Shanghai in 2014 cost me $4. more than what I paid in US1.98. I find KFC cheapest in Malaysia, but in Australia, I had to pay extra for ketchup.
I think years ago when I was in Hong Kong, they served rice dishes and crispy chicken wings. Very nice. Great to see your videos again. Hope your dad is doing well.
For most people, 80 CNY is quite expensive in China as one meal. I don't know the accurate average price, but actually in middle-size cities, 10-30 (1-5 USD) is enough to feed a person. As for fast food restaurants, the prices of MCD, KFC and Burger King are set to be above average to promote sales of their membership cards. People who eat those just once in a while would look for appropriate activities to save their costs.
I ate McDonald's in Suzhou, a little different, but what surprised me was KFC in Shanghai, they use a different oil, which is a popular oil since I smelled it in streets far from the KFC. We can't love everything, I have difficulty with...
I was just going to say the same thing, Starbucks is on a higher end here in Canada as well, and they do try to sell the prestigious feel comparing to other big coffee chains. A lot of their fancy drinks are quite expensive actually, for an average Joe.
Chinese McDonald had apple pie about almost twenty years ago which tastes much better than western‘s,but Chinese people aren't originally accept the taste of cinnamon in dessert(we usually put cinnamon as a spicy in soup)so it disappearred, but now more and more people are suggesting McDonald to call it back.
I have tried the new green tea milk pie in Hong Kong branches, it tastes really good😋 McDonalds are everywhere, from my living place/working place I only take 10 minutes to get there, very convenient. I love Burger King too, but I just know the one in the Peak, that's too far away, so MCDONALDs win😅
In 20 years ago, Macdonald’s was popular in China, but nowadays Chinese people don’t think Macdonald’s is a kind of lifestyle, just treat it like fast food, easy to get, and it’s much cheaper than have a meal in other Chinese restaurant.
Nah for the wings McD's is more spicy than KFC but I don't know about it now though. All I know it's expensive there so much Chinese foods in China that you can get full plus inexpensive though. Pizza hut is big in China while pizza hut in Canada are mostly take out...
I wouldn't eat McD's so often in China. I'll be broke but once in awhile is alright though... You know I prefer going to the university canteen though really decent prices but depends in which university though.
hahahaha Pineapple pine is just another innovation in China, or Asia maybe. We have apple pie, pineapple pie, banana pie, blueberry pie, strawberry pine and you name it. Same goes for pizza, durian pizza for example (I’m actually a bigger fan of durian pizza than pepperoni one lol)
I have seen the survey on costs of McD (it's known as Mac Dee in Malaysia) in different countries and Malaysia's is more affordable than in most countries although it is like also rather pricey when compared to local food.
You and I just uploaded a RU-vid video at the same time, as we both live in Shenzhen haha! Good one mate. On the other hand, there's nothing special about McDonalds in China, it's the same junk processed food and it is the same in every other country.
The funkyest thing I ever had from McDonalds in China was a Sunday with hot chill & sauce on top, tasted weird at first but after a couple of spoons you crave the taste, lol
The MCD here in Hong Kong has Crispy thighs, honey bbq and garlic flavour chicken and wicked spicy wings.... Better than the KFC here .... we don't have that plethora of matcha latte drinks like you have in the mainland :(
13:08 I haven't ate McDonald for while, Since 2014 once I had 40 degree fever after ate a McDonald breakfast then every time I ate McDonald then sick, and now the only purchase in McDonald was McCafé.
I know it seems except the food everything else is digital. I remember I was in Shanghai Airport and I talked to a robot to give me water. Unfortunately he did not understand my Mandarin.
When you said that electric bikes were everywhere, in Guangdong alone there are 20 million, well that's what I read the other day,, my wife and I ride an electric trike it's the only way to go really❤️🙏🙏🙏
@@baird55aus and today it has turned full circle, I think it is a great thing, I live in Qingyuan and everything is going electric, in the past 5 years, buses , taxi's, Didi, and private electric cars and 1000s of electric bikes, it the way of the future and a cleaner mode of transport
Interesting to show what is normal back home, how it is in Shenzhen. Burger King has a great deal - 4 items for 29 rmb. Some of my students invited me to a birthday party in McDonald’s. Mountains of food and the kids were so excited. I know it is not mandatory but Shenzhen has highly recommended masks even on the streets.😷 Take care.
McDonald's is always an useful indicator of Purchasing Power Parity(PPP) since there is literally McDonald's restaurant all over the world we can use the cost of a Big Mac sandwich to compare the PPP known as the Big Mac Index(BMI) !
All the food you shown is available in M'sia. We even have congee & fried fritters for breakfast Our meat version is more spicy & crunchier Only thing iis pork is not available
The cost of Starbucks in Asia is crazy, price is higher than Canada. I'm always surprised when they're busy especially when they have so much competition for half the price.
In 麦当劳,I only had French fries, fillet fish burger and a few times chocolate sundae. The 麦当劳’s fries is better then KFC, Hungry jacks....I had McDonald's Chicken Porridge in Bangkak。哈哈哈哈
you should try the same thing that UK has such as big Mac and taste the difference or they just the same, i think the big Mac is too small compare with burger king's
The title says “I ate everything in a Chinese McDonald’s” which if you did, would be a must click video. I was a bit disappointed that it was just you having a lunch at McDonalds, although I figured as much before I even clicked.
Haha yes I noticed that during the edit. My pronunciation of fresh wasn't very good so there was the confusion. The next chips were hot and extra salty :)
not sure if anyone from indonesia have said this. McDs in indonesia also have fried chicken and pie. and they also have spicy sauce not only tomato sauce, which is very common in indonesia. and you were talking about the first McD restaurant in china, same thing happen in indonesia. even today most of the western brands restaurants are considered prestigious, because they really are not cheap. as a middle class person myself i dont often eat at these western fast food restaurants because of the price. especially startbucks. in my life tine i have only been there like 2 times, and i'm 50. also there so many local foods that are way more tasty than those western brands and a lot cheaper. same like in china, here we also have this food delivery service where you can order any food from any restaurant on an app and they will be delivered to you in mostly 20-30 minutes.
We still don't have chicken at Maccy D's in the UK. I actually had a McFlurry this morning, love 'em but I don't have it often for money and health reasons!
When you ask for the replacement of the fires; what you are telling the counter staff is the fries is not salty enough instead it’s not fresh or hot enough. Also, in contrast with North American and UK, KFC have better reputation as well as more store than McDonald have in China, because KFC have much more specially design items and much better service quality than McDonald did in China. China version KFC not only has similar breakfast combo which is launched in North America and UK by McDonald, it also has customized item like Soybean milk, fried dough sticks, porridge and rougamo for Chinese market. Also, KFC offers varieties of Chinese topping rice (rice served with meat, meat juice (they have curry flavour) and vegetables), multiple flavours fires, fried chicken with a choice of spiciness and flavours, BBQ kebabs and a dessert coffee stations similar to McDonald's McCofe (their egg tart is very good). In addition, KFC often launches time limited customized menus according to Chinese festivals, such as sesame ice cream and Hokkaido Matcha ice cream (I think they have launched ice cream moon cake before too). But McDonald is much less involved in those marketing activities. Definitely try out KFC, it’s amazing.
The most surprising fast food store are not McDonald KFC or Burger King. Pizza Hut is the one that will blow your mind. Pizza Hut's menu and taste make me feel that Pizza Hut in China and pizza hut in North America are two companies with the same name but completely different customer positioning and cuisine.
here in the UK will only use Mcdonald's when i am really drunk as the box and paper bag taste better than the burgers and has more nutrition than the food
