I like how the most powerful 'final bosses' in video games are not some one winged angel of destruction like Sephiroth, not a master trainer like Cynthia, not a calamitous duo like Ornstein and Smough (who weren't even included). Instead, it is a bunch of red and blue boxes and a man with a beard that sucks at tennis. All because they require you to actually move.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 honestly the thing that makes RCTTS hard is how terrible the map is I just wish people would stop using this map as the ultimate challenge of this game. Sure its hard for a new player but it is a really terrible map.
@@brutusignatious382Literally there are multiple better-mapped official free levels that are harder as well, RCTTS is only so big because it's what got difficult Beat Saber levels popular
As someone who’s done a similar style of editing to what’s in RT’s videos, it’s really impressive. The editing alone isn’t hard, but doing it for such a long video so fast is very impressive, you need a lot of mental stamina to edit 4 hours of videos, much less in around the 8 hours I’d say she had to complete this.
He obviously practiced but it's still under a month + several other bossfights. Tom nook especially is hell. Ggwp drift dad, only doubted him a little bit 😂
Can't believe this is the guy who started by miserably failing at taiko. While I am no pro, I am very proud of what I can do in rhythm games, and this looks harder than what I have cleared in console/phone. It might be that I do not know how to read beat saber, but even just the movements he was doing looked incredibly exhausting
@@Ivan-fy3prI don’t know if it’s more impressive than it is a display of how new he is to the game. RCTTS is easy if you have some basic understanding of reading and using your wrists. It shouldn’t take more than three attempts for someone who’s been playing for 5 months.
To be completely honest, by todays standards for beat saber, RCTTS isn't really that hard (or mapped well). However, it is still impressive for The Man with No Rhythm™️
I can’t believe that 3 years after Deltarune chapter 2 we got a new contender for best Spamton voice… and it was from RT, a guy who doesn’t even care for the game reusing his Stardew “we have to cook” voice and it working surprisingly well.
@@jared20089the fandom of Toby Fox’s games pressuring him to play them led to him never wanting to and damaging his views of the games. When he played Undertale, he did it out of order to spite them, then from what I hear he was critical of certain elements of the theme/narrative. Which is equivalent to watching a show in the order of Season 4, then the first three, then criticizing it. It comes off as a bad faith criticism.
During the entirety of Reality Check chat would leave hearts whenever Dan started the song or failed it and would put every single dancing emote up when he passed the beginning It was the most wholesome and grooviest chat interaction ever
Random nobody who has a skill score so high in wii boxing that it goes off the chart and off the top of the screen here! Matt reacts to everything so inhumanly fast that your best bet to land hits is to use the only form of gaining significant frame advantage given to the player: extremely close dodges slow down the clock for a moment, but grant a massive advantage in that time to the one who dodges. Tryin to do the fight without slips is nigh impossible.
I was unaware that "Matt Tyson" was considered a final boss, but I never really got into Wii Boxing... Yes, I just wanted to make a pun and this was the first related comment... so, what? 😂
Im so used to seeing RT joke about his lack of rhythm and downplay his skill that i was taken aback by how much he destroyed that beatsaber level lol, good job dude
Good work RT, the difference between this video and the last time you fought Matt really shows how far you've come. I was hoping one of the bosses would be Inner Owl or Inner Isshin, but that's probably a whole other stream if you decide to.
Fun Fact! Through all of December and January, Dan practiced Reality Check Through the Skull on Expert+. The commitment is amazing. Happy Late New Years Dan, and hopefully nothing bad happens this year!
@@Nikola_M if its not a joke dans a god it takes alot of practice for i guess what id call time dilation to kick in aka the super fast moving blocks feel way slower so you can actually play it
Not if he ever plays Yakuza like a lot of people want him to, especially Yakuza 0. We'll never be able to save Dan from himself if he plays the Cabaret Club Czar or Realestate Royale minigames 😅
@@Zarkyun RT likely had some of the games open ahead of time but for a speedrun you would need a file to load, so for each game Deltarune: I think there's a SAVE point right before Spamton. World of Light: Just after Master Hand Pokemon: Right next to the PWT receptionist. Wii Sports: We see RT reload this one. Requires a lot of setup hence the need to provide save files to all runners. PVZ idk Mario and Luigi, there's no way you can't save right before that. Hollow Knight I think you would start at the bench in the Hall of Gods on the same floor as NKG. Animal Crossing we also see RT load. FF7R I think you can save anywhere, unless there's other bosses before Sephiroth. Beat Saber oh dear god help them
Also, like, two thousand people simultaneously trying to explain FF7 to one poor guy who'd never heard of an RPG, but that comment doesn't flow as well.

as someone who got to see this stream start live, i will never forget the terror of seeing spamton neo and thinking "oh god, hes doing it again." thankfully for all of us, it was something much more horrific

I burst out laughing as soon as I heard Reality Check through the Skull, really got me cackling that one did. He actually did a really good job for someone who doesn’t play Beat Saber for 25 hours a day, congrats to the Drift King for once again *almost* defeating Sans Undertale!

Since the breakneck pace of the stream almost took away some of the achievement: can we just appreciate how effortlessly Dan took down Matt? This used to be a full video and now he did it on his second try and just went like: "aight, who's next on the chopping block?" Incredible!
I gotta say, even having lost it at the end of the song, your performance on Reality Check Through The Skull is an impressive display of how far you've come, even if it was practiced. That map's a physical and rhythmical endurance test lasting a good what, five minutes or so? The fact that you held out for the vast majority of it goes to show that you've definitely graduated from "A man with no rhythm" - I sure as hell couldn't manage that one, lol. Good stuff!

@@Flaming_Saturn The thing with the Ursula quest is that you're supposed to do it gradually over the course of the game. However, that's only really possible if you randomly gacha pull her early. The gacha rates for most of the Blades are randomly picked from a list at the start of each save file, and there's a 2/5 chance she becomes one of the rarest blades in the game, with one of those having her as only 2.5x more common than the RAREST PULL IN THE GAME. This was SUPPOSED to be mitigated by the Pity Blade system. On the save file where she's the second-rarest pull in the game, she was SUPPOSED to be one of the three guaranteed early pulls. However, due to a programming error, a DIFFERENT set of blades are the pity blades, so on that save file type, she's almost certainly going to be one of the last Blades you pull, making her quest absolutely abysmal.
14:14 "I'm not sure why that has such an effect on him" It's because Sakurai is amazing and translated this fight really REALLY well from Monster Hunter into Smash. Rathalos is known as "The King of the Skies" and spends a lot of time in the air during his fights. There's an item known as Flash bombs which basically act like Deku Nuts by stunning and blinding the monster for a bit. If you use this while he's flying he's knocked down for a long time. It's a common strat for a lot of flying monsters, but Rathalos especially gets hit pretty hard by it because he's in the air so much

I've been waiting for you to come back! I started 2024 off rough; We had to put down my 22 year old cat Smokey, whom I had most of my life. She had a long life, but it was time; We had a good last few days, watching old videos we liked together again, just being close. I've binge watched your old videos for a while to help deal. Thanks for doing what you do, it really is a big light in the darkness.

Holy crap that Beatsabering was incredibly impressive, even the first run that failed. My old uni had some vr headsets with Beatsaber on them, and I probably played it for around 5+ hours a week for months. Got to the point where I held every single song record on the headset (though idk how many other people were using it, so that might not be saying much). I attempted the same song RT did and could never make it through the initial gauntlet
If i had the original us declaration of independence for every time rt started a stream with a final boss in a game made by toby fox that he’s not played beforehand, i’d have two, which is probably illegal.
GOD DAMN. I GREATLY admire the fact that RT's teased a lot for lack of rhythm and then picked like. The hardest song on a tough ass rhythm game to be his personal final boss. Can't wait for it to be continued :D genuinely a hopeful start to the year

This was the first full stream I ever watched, not just from RT but from any content creator. It was an absolute blast and I’m so damn excited for the highlights! Props to Chloe for editing this down, it’s fucken amazing how much work she puts in, and props to Dan for doing every one of these bosses- the Drift King shall rule eternal!!

I was *NOT* prepared for the video to open with Spamton. I was NOT ready to hear RT read his lines. (He even understood the assignment and read all the [Advertisements] in different tones of voice! This is the only stream I've been able to make it to and stay the whole time since my heart attack in 2021, it was great to see awesome insane gameplay followed by Dam saying thank you and showing appreciation for all the love and support he's received over the years and especially this year, what a way to return, welcome back RT

I was going to say, "wait, but Grimm isn't the final boss," but then you weren't done with Hollow Knight (Except you still didn't fight the actual final boss, Radiance. Pure Vessel and Grimm are optional bonus bosses)
