I liked Astra GTE's that much back in the 80's I might have borrowed a few without mentioning 2 the Owners, thankfully I was rehabilitated back into society and can admire them now without considering a police camera action YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE COPPER Chase. GXS was a greatly advanced car 1L or 1.2L close ratio gearbox and same suspension hydrogen as the DS My dad had two 30odd years ago, my sister drove it 55 miles with the hand brake still on! It still made it home from Skegness 😂

you're such a lucky boy, your other half seems to like classics, my wife and twin daughters think I'm nuts for liking them. But as I've said before, I've had my old Mk1 Mexico longer than I've known her - - - - Fords are my thing, but I have to admit I'd maybe have had a bid or 2 on the yellowish Citroen just to annoy her

Hey Mitch, the car for me is that red Astra GTE mk2 16v. I had a G reg white 16v back in 1994, only had it a year & was stolen, never recovered. Back then they were like 4k 😊
Bit of (Useless!) info on the Citroën for you. The GS was a breakthrough car in 1970 ....look at that profile...even now ...then look at a Cortina mk2 ....so advanced for its day ..still really Looks fresh today , just a wonderful looking car. The engine is a 1015 cc flat 4 I think ...later it was 1220cc the X2 model had a bit more go ... Swoopy lines allowed 95 mph though ...30 drag co.. Layout similar to Subaru and Alfa engines...had some Fancy seats and some Cibies ... Blacked out instead of Chrome.. Who cares it looked the Bollox to me in the early 70s in "Placky Lamp Shade " Orange! Story.. We had a dealer near us in Crewe... Middlewich Road Motors ....or Woolstanwood , can't remember exactly , so Dyanes and Ami 8's where always seen around and about.,the preserve of the Teacher and Corduroy jacket brigade. With this in mind my aged 20 yr old Brother bought an L reg 73 one in 83 ...thinking it would be great if anything went wrong..so for just..£295 took the plunge & ..ride and stability where sublime ...sadly before the thing gave up its Spheres ( Suspension) and he couldn't afford to fix it , we got stopped in town by a Bike Bobby.,,light out ,,,2 G&T's ,,,3 mill over ....Bollox ! ....licence lost. I wanted it but no had Licence then..."Bloody French Rust Bucket " Dad cried .,.,ironically the Scrap - Metal dealer we ( Drove )it to '... Sad Really, backed right onto the Citroën Garage ... ..... ( Sort of ) Happy Days! 200Kid.

Ooh that Mk2 Escort was cheap 😱. I appreciate it wasn’t finished but it looked decent restoration. I would’ve had to bid 😬 Wow 😮, the ‘71 beetle for only £5k! Looked in fantastic condition. My pick of the lot.
Another great video Mitch, always enjoy your work. Its the first time I've seen a Mark 2 Escort converted from 4 to 2 door, I don't really like it, the thicker B-pillar makes it look a bit odd. I'm not surprised it didn't fetch a high price.
Haha.. You again looked at nearly everything I did!! Didn't get to see the Sierra or SRi as they were late entries. A few I'd seen last time. If I remember right the Citroën had a flat 4 over head cam motor, quite an advanced car in their day! 👍
Try getting a sierra dash .not sapphire a sapphire one has no speaker in centre you won't get one for under a grand.and the mg was ruined by painting it in that colour that why it didn't sell why would someone do that lol
