I Banned A Corrupt Admin From His Own Server

If tons of people already had complaints about JJ’s abuse I’m sure that if you just started up a new minecraft server for the school ppl would follow, with the hopes of no more corrupt admin

If he didn't want you entering the End, he could have just disabled it, or broken the frame and the portal blocks in Creative mode.

usually this happens on ban items(the item ro used) where the data in the ban item is the bare minimum required to ban. Then the item is invis when thrown out as an item. The reason why the item didnt ban the players when it was thrown out was because the server must be paper. NOTE: Using a ban item with the minimum data needed to inventory ban, if the server is 1.17.1 PAPER it can be abused. 2 new types of bans can be made, Porta Bans and ZPIs.

As a server owner, I would like to say this is by no means permanent there is a simple way to fix it. There is some time before the client fully loads into the game that they appear in the server, and even before then the console can detect them, so in theory a well timed /clear run as the player would clean his inventory entirely (this could be done using /execute as “player” run clear) Now, I’m not sure if he would love that idea or not though, as that would entail him deleting every single item in his inventory.

How did your book ban boxes not chunkban everyone around? I know that on vanilla servers you get chunkbanned/area banned as soon as a ban box appears near you. The one way to bypass this is by using multiple boxes and splitting the amount of data.

To anyone confused about the ban shulker in this video: What it is known as is an "area ban" (more commonly known as chunk ban even though it has no relation to chunks) is something which can kick someone off a minecraft server when they either pick up the item, enter the area (not chunk) in where the area ban is dropped. Note that it wont "ban" you per se, but it will kick you off the server meaning that you can join back BUT if you join back when it is still active then it will kick you again effectively banning you from the server. How it works is that it sends too much data in 1 packet from the server to your client which kicks you from the game. A packet is basically what a server sends your minecraft client when you do something in the game. Two notable things that send packets to your client are items in your inventory and items on the ground (these are not all the things that send data to your client obviously however these are the most important to area bans). The idea of an area ban is that if there is one item on the ground then that one item will make the server send one packet to your client. This is intended. However, this system can be exploited. When talking about breaking minecraft you will see the number 2,147,483,647 pop up a lot. This is what is called the 32 bit integer limit. The 32 bit integer limit is a major number which is the limit for many numbers in minecraft. Some other limiting numbers include 32767 and 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 (64 bit integer limit). You might be wondering what all these numbers have to do with area bans? Well actually a lot! Specifically 2,147,483,647. The limit for what a minecraft server can send to your client in a single packet is dictated by the 32 bit integer limit. Meaning that if some item on the ground is within a 32 block radius of you, If that item has an NBT (Named Binary Tag) value above 2,147,483,647, It will still try to send that packet to your client. But if it is above the 32 bit integer limit, then the server cant send it to you. If it sees the NBT value is above the accepted range (2,147,483,647) It cant send it to you. Error. Well this is hypothetical, There is no way to get an item of that high of an NBT value right? Wrong! Or at least it is now. It used to be impossible in survival to get an item like that since if you break a chest it will drop all the items in it. However in update 1.11 shulker boxes were added making a container able to be picked up with items still inside. Well still 2,147,483,647 is a high number, is it possible to get enough items in a shulker box with high enough NBT value to bring the total to over 2 billion? Answer: yes and no. There is a way in vanilla survival to make a chunkban legit. However there is no specific item that does it. The answer, is a book. Since every character in a book is loaded when the book is dropped, That is the key to making an area ban. However the answer isnt so simple. Still with all 50 pages of every book filled with one in every slot in the shulker it still wouldnt be enough. Normal characters just dont have a high enough NBT value. Let me put emphasis on Normal characters (As in letters and symbols that you can just type normally from your keyboard). You will have to use special characters which can be obtained by copy/pasting from other sources. The specific character is Ⅻ. This specific character (and a few others) Has a high enough NBT value that if you fill 50 pages completely with this character, then if you make 27 of those books, fill all the slots with books in a shulker, then drop it on the ground then it will kick anyone from the server in a 32 block radius. (IMPORTANT: This only works on servers and does not do anything if the shulker is just placed normally). The reason that It is limited to 32 blocks is because it is very deliberately made that way so a computer can run minecraft because if a computer has to load EVERY entity in a minecraft world then any computer would crash instantly. The reason it only works on servers is because without a server there is no packets being sent meaning it is perfectly fine on a single player world. The reason that it doesnt work when placed is because when it is placed it is a block rather than an entity and when container blocks are placed they dont load what is in them unless you open them. Now everything I just said is true but if when you throw a ban shulker on the ground it will kick everyone off the server within 32 blocks of it, then how when roshambo threw it it didnt? How come it only banned when it was in an inventory? How come it was invisible on the ground? Well he did not create what I explained in this wall of text. Kind of. What he created is whats known as a ZPI. a ZPI is an area ban but not at the same time. An area ban is an item that goes over the accepted range of NBT data for a single packet to send. However a ZPI is something which is on the borderline max amount of data that a server can send to your client in a single packet. A ZPI will ban, just only in certain situations. For example, in an item frame, but only sometimes. If a ZPI is in an item frame, it will kick you from the server if you walk within a 32 block radius of it just like an area ban, But unlike an area ban it will NOT ban a person who is inside that radius when the ZPI was placed (it only behaves in this specific way when in an item frame). When a ZPI is thrown on the ground, instead of it kicking everyone in its radius it will oddly be invisible and will make no sounds when picked up or thrown. This is something that I dont know why it happens but it does making it even easier to trick people into picking it up or making an invisible escape kit to escape prisons by editing the books to have precise NBT value. Now when a ZPI enters an inventory it wont automatically ban them. Like roshambo explained in the video you have to open your inventory to activate it. but when that happens, You are banned with no easy way to get rid of the inventory ban since you can only join for literally 1 tick (1/20th of a second) before you're gone again. One more thing I forgot to mention was why roshambo spread the books to every slot in the shulker rather put 16 in 1 stack (max for books). Well. when books are stacked their NBT data value acts like it was only one book meaning that when they are unstacked they can ban but otherwise they can't. Sorry for this wall of text I just wanted to give context to people who didnt know about area bans and ZPIs and wanted to answer some questions I could see possibly popping up (like why it was invisible). I hope this was good info!

the one issue is that if it's a hosting site he can just delete his player data file then spawn all his shit back in to un book ban himself. if it's a realm he'd have to download the world, delete his player data, then reupload it.

8:01 could have just broken a high-nbt shulker over the end portal in the stronghold; the items don't load until someone jumps into the portal, and that someone would most likely be the owner(well, the fact that he's the owner makes it likely) effectively getting him banned.

I know about it. The admin of my server started bullying me with full netherite armor and weapons. My reaction was, enchanted netherite armor and weapons, kick his blocky butt to death, and logged out with his stuff, in a secret place. He quitted Minecraft immediately, and he gave me the admin powers. I am a good admin, so, a win for me and the others on the server.

You could of used a hopper to transfer the shulkers to a chest and he would have taken them out of greed. You can even leave a dropper trap as well.

Well book ban does not works like that (but it would have been less funnyer and hard to do without book banning yourself in the process so gg) but you kept it pretty close from how it really works (the only thing is that having the item on the ground normally kick you off the game when you are at less than 80 blocks radius or 32 if the sever uses paper)
