With the massive emphasis on lake monsters in this story I originally thought the blue light was coming from a gigantic anglerfish that stuck its lure out of the water to lure the kid into the water to eat

That’s a terrifying feeling. When my son was younger he walked out of my grandmas house when she was watching him. He was two and we couldn’t find him for hours. I was so scared. This story hits different.

My ex-husband used to leave the house in his diaper, with the dog, and wander the neighborhood in search of friends! This was circa 1974/1975. He was their fifth child, and there was an eleven year age gap between their fourth child and my ex. I was still kind of shocked. My mother-in-law said they eventually put in an eye hook lock up near the top of the door, so obviously too high for him to reach. He was able to unlock and open doorknobs. And they didn't panic when he wasn't in the house, especially since he had the dog with him. I'd have gone out of my mind! I don't know if it was the age difference between myself and my ex? He's 6 years older than me, or the fact that I'm the daughter of a single mom and a latch-key kid? But my mom would've freaked if one of her daughter's wandered out of the house like that. I do know that as a 13 year old I got in A TON of trouble for sneaking out!😂

I myself when I was kid once my family had a bunch of puppies and I was outside with the puppies alongside my parents, eventually one or two of the puppies wandered off and I followed it, my parents didn't notice so they didn't do anything. Apparently according to my parents the puppy had led me all the way across our small town to a friends house, he saw me and got me and put me on the motorcycle he had and entertained me while my parents were on the way since he had called them. My parents told me they had panicked upon discovering I was gone and had no clue where I was until they got called.

When my sister was 3 we moved from the city to the burbs. One day my sister disappeared and we couldnt find her We three older sibs were sent out to search for her. After a couple hours we went home to hear that she had crawled into the dog house and fell asleep.

It felt new to me that this story's plot twist was more human, but felt more real. I was expecting a strange chill of supernatural twist but it was more of an unsettling feeling because this story might actually happen to anyone.

But the part about the dad pushing an invisible button and saying Abra kadabra sounded like something made up by the dad and then someone that sounded more like he was playing along with a child's game definitely sounded like an attempted kidnapping from a regular creep lol.

I must say I usually watch Mr. Nightmare when I'm in a creepy pasta mood but I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I've added you to my rotation. You're probably the best at adding character into your reading giving each person in the story their own voice and personality. It's fun and it makes me that much more engaged into the story.

my go to was human with a light trying to get him, angler fish sounds better. angler fish sizes are males 10-20 cms and female 80-100 cms, also only females have the light thing.

I HATE, and by hate I mean absolutely, utterly HATE advertisments, especially when they have to be so earsplittingly, ear-pericingly, annoyingly loud!!!!!!! and horrifically disgusting because, I swear, the people who put those ads out there clearly don't have any manners because if they did, then those loud as hell ads wouldn't cut into an excellently-narrated Lighthouse Horror video. This brings back so many memories of running through the woods and imagining you're in a different time different place and you are different. I love how the kid brings the imagination to life. Like I said kids nowadays don't know what it's like to have nothing but sticks and your imagination I've made fishing poles oh sticks and strings and a bottle cap for a hook. And catching fish. I love the fantasy of being by yourself in the woods playing and thinking you're back and time and you have a sword in your cutting down all the bad guys. LOL I had a wild imagination.

Yeah. I wish I never bought the Nintendo switch. My oldest got obsessed with mine and I ended up getting her one as well as my husband. Now it seems like that's what she and my middle child does is play on those. Though they do also play outside. Today they got really muddy out there. But I remember the only technology I had was a TV and a computer that I didn't do much on except jump start 1st grade and Microsoft paint. Technology is awesome but it's also consumed so many minds, even mine. I think imagination hasn't completely left this generation of kids though. Sometimes I'll see the kids using it.

Anglers use polarised glasses to cut the sun glare off the water. On hot sunny days anglers can see fish near the surface. They are mainly used by game anglers but also carp fishermenr . If they know where carp are basking in the sun they can cast their bait under the fishes nose. Hope that explains:-)

The first could be a story about being recruited my an influencer to play raid, and the you end up in some sweat shop grinding raid 24/7 so the influencer can sell end game accounts or something. The 2nd could be a highly religious figure head father with a rebellious daughter, and he needs to "cover up" and get rid of the baby to keep the perfect family apparently up or something while also plotting what happens to the guy. Third she could be a Medusa themed story and the last one well... that's just life advice really. Don't leave it up if you value a peaceful married life. Before you end up loosing half and homeless XD

I think the idea is that they aren’t actually magical. What he was seeing was just the front light of the boat and it drowned everything else out, like when looking at your phone in a dark room. The whole time it was really a creep in a boat talking to him.

This takes me back to my childhood. I had my own rod and tackle box by the time I was 5 because gender rolls didn't exist when it came to fishing. It wasn't a boy vs girl thing; Chorneys fished, period. I had 3 older male cousins, one older female, myself, my sister, a younger female cousin, and 2 more young male cousins and fishing was in our DNA. We all spent plenty of time down on the creek behind Grandmom and Grandad's place and other fishing holes in the area and I have so many wonderful memories out on lakes with Grandad, Dad, and countless uncles and cousins.
