Bro, that happened to me using danger Mario after defeating a normal enemy that I could only defeat with a hammer at that point, all the enemies already died so it was so XD
I finally beat Bonetail for the first time and it was seriously unsatisfying. Stage mist made Mario evade 2 attacks, I got 2 Bingos, he didn't use his breath attack at all, and the police came to my apartment for a noise complaint that was meant for someone else.
I’ve been attempting this challenge. My first attempt technically died in the 40s. I say technically because I could have recovered it, but I didn’t like my badge choices from Dazzle. My second attempt got to Bonetail, but I died with her at 1 HP. I needed to hit a breath superguard and failed. My third attempt died in the 70s to a Stopwatch. Enough said there. Here’s hoping my next attempt is successful. Maybe I’ll pick up some tips from this video.
You got this! Hopefully these highlights help you. LOL I also have a comprehensive tutorial on PHP with another top player. It’s for the og so you’ll need to make some adjustments, but I think it can still be really helpful :)
Dying to randomness is the most infuriating thing ever. It killed my first run against the shadow queen (if I had a Feeling Fine badge it could have been salvaged, that's how close I was), and it killed my pre-chapter 6 run of the pit (but I used the retry system, rather not go through the entire pit just to get hit with unlucky RNG again)
I got it on the fourth try! I brought Item Hog over Flower Finder, partially due to you showing it's a valid option and partially because I hadn't tried it yet. I had to be a bit more careful with my FP usage, but I didn't have much difficulty managing it. I bought a safety Ultra Shroom from Charlieton, but didn't end up needing it. I took down Bonetail via Sweet Treat Looping from your tutorial. (I'm not skilled enough at superguards to keep Koops alive through breath attacks and didn't want to risk dying to being frozen to attempt Goombella Quick Swap for more than some initial damage.)
The fact it's the 4th jump that's frame perfect is just so funny to me. Like, why the 4th one in particular? Though the fact it goes back to normal after that kinda says to me it was some kind of oversight/glitch
Honestly, I think that, while it does feel like a last minute change (there HAD to be a more elegant solution), I think it had to be intentional because the damage scaling for a 4 hit power bounce feels the most balanced relative to the power of Spin and Spring Jump.
On the Thwomp question mini-game, I always aimed to answer them wrong because, so long as you have a POW Block in your inventory which, if you’re naturally collecting items from the blocks in the Meadows, you should end up with 3 POW Blocks on the way to Thwomp (2 being used in the prior fights or possibly having all of them if you opt for the Superguard strat). With the 4 Clefts, just POW Block and you have easy Star Points.
I did a pre chapter 2 pit recently (with continues) but GOD DAMN was I underprepared. I was so lucky that I didn’t just go to the pit after interacting with the titular thousand year door and instead got damage dodge first. I also had absolutely 0 items. So uhh probably was a bad idea
Attempted pre-Hooktail put today. First run died at Level 5 because I realized I somehow forgot to grab the shop points items I spent 4 hours grinding for. Second run died Level 18, Koops popped my Life Shroom way earlier than I wanted so I reset. Third run made it Level 94. I killed one Amazyee Dayzee, but flubbed the Multibonk input on the second and died. I’m thinking about grinding a second round of Shop Points items for attempt 4, because the Sleepy Sheep I brought were actually completely useless. I heard they got buffed in the remake, but I got one Ice Puff and that’s it. >_>
Mega Rush adds a lot of damage when in Peril which is a strat u see a lot of ttyd challenge runners do for pit, that's why you see him always trying tp get the partners to one health for optimal damage
That would honestly be a very interesting challenge idea, but unfortunately you’ll have to Whack the Whacka at Keelhaul in order to fight him as a boss.
Double Dip lets you use 2 items in one turn and Quick Change lets you swap partners without taking up a turn. I think that's what you're talking about? LOL
@@Kappy0 oh sweet thank you, yea thats what i was talking about 😂. I beat the game without it and it was difficult to get through some bosses and enemies.
You can do that, but I like to upgrade Goombella because she’s really good against the 90s with Multibonk and it makes the Bonetail fight much faster LOL
