Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a devastating disease. Those who have it are able to experience childhood, but eventually lose the ability to walk, lift themselves, and even breathe. My heart goes out to Terry and his family. I am hopeful that the ongoing drug development efforts yield positive results.

Something I will say that I LOVED about survivor over fallen over is that the worlds do feel more alive. At least Koboh. With the cantina it doesn’t feel so… isolated? I guess. Generally speaking I liked survivor more than fallen order. I hope they add some DLC to add some more exploration of other planets, maybe some more exploration of especially the last planet you unlock

Since they didn’t do the thing where you have to use a certain stance to be maximally efficient against a certain enemy type (some exceptions) I think the game would really benefit from a wheel where cal can change to any of the stances at any time. Especially bc like it’s just on his waist, if I’m using single blade I should be able to whip out the other one OR the blaster with no hang up

Seeing him running on walls like that feels so weird and out of place. Seeing him doing a front roll when jumping when he already is on the edge feels even worse. What is that?!

I still can’t get over the fact that a LIGHT SABER can hit things and _not_ just slice right through it.

Pre-ordering is ALWAYS a terrible idea

My family has had a history of myotonic dystrophy, both my father and myself having it. But a while ago (2018), his brother - my uncle passed from it. The fact that such awful genetic diseases exist (i.e. various forms of muscular dystrophy) is such a scary thing. Thank you for supporting a charity like cure rare diseases.

The intro footage looked EXACTLY like some of the scenes from Prince of Persia 2008.

I appreciate the beginning so much, I’ve already beaten the game and basically all side quests and so many times ppl would just disrespect spoiler warnings so this is very nice

Structure wise I was hoping it would be like the original ratchet and clank where worlds had a main path, a combat path and a gadget/parkour path, also two planet option for where to go next. Was hoping we could spend more time just fleshing out the galaxy and it's inhabitants and going on more light hearted adventures

it's funny because i've seen a lot of people saying that they don't like constantly having to jump on the mantis and fly to another planet like in the last game. i think it's great that there's a lot of different opinions on it though.

Seriously though, when in the history of games has a day 1/0 patch actually fixed the performance issues that people playing pre-release builds experienced? I honestly think never. I'll give this a miss at full price and get it when it works

What was going on with your CPU during gameplay? If graphics settings changes didn't make a difference, I wonder if there are CPU optimization issues for PC. Consoles have far better IO and reduced latency from using APUs and unified memory, so I wonder if this is the area where the game has not yet been fully optimized for the PC platform.

Do you know if you can still use the heavy stance without having the crossguards on the saber? I've never loved the idea of them and don't think they would be necessary to just swing a saber harder.

When my game bugged out the other day my map had a ton of grey planets on it before going back to normal, while just a bug I’ve been figuring they are setting it up for dlc, I haven’t finished the story (last mission) but unless something crazy happens I could definitely see ways they could keep building on it for a whiel

Variety is overrated imo. Just from the trailers alone, the high republic jedi, the gendaii bounty hunter, and the Drya Thornne guy are all more interesting bosses to me compared to the ones in Fallen Order

Consoles are just easier to play on lately.. guess its just too hard for the devs to be able to make a game that run the same with all the different PC build that exist.. we need more "main stream" computers to make the task easier for the devs.

One thing I've always wanted from a Star Wars game is to have a branching skill tree that specializes your playstyle that also affects your lightsaber. You take more force powers your saber shifts green, more lightsaber abilities and it shifts blue, more powerful abilities shift it towards red. And the best part is that they can mix. If you spec mostly martial and force skills the blade would become yellow, martial and power it becomes purple, power and force it shifts orange, etc. As good as the lightsaber customization in this game is I've always felt that was a possibility they were sleeping on. Maybe it would work better in a game with more Jedi, like Kotor or something. As much as this game is, at its core, a power fantasy I feel like they let the player have too much power. The first thing you do is [Redacted for spoilers]. I had my own reasons for not quite liking the story of Fallen Order but it at least used its gameplay to drive home a specific point. You are not invincible. You are not all-powerful. If you aren't careful any random Stormtrooper can kill you. In Survivor, funnily enough, it doesn't seem like you're fighting to survive. I think one of the problems with the narrative is something the first game did well. It introduced you on Bracca, and it used it as a basic tutorial, but it let you get used to it. This was very clearly a place and a person Cal felt safe with. Then it rips it away from you. It completely pulls the rug out from under your feet and tells you to start running because nowhere is safe. And I think they're underutilizing the potential that the Star Wars universe has to make that message feel real. It's a dense galaxy, all sorts of people from all sorts of places with all sorts of warrants out for their arrest, somebody's willing to tip off the Empire if they spot a Jedi. Instead, most of the places you go are either just Wildlife with enemies wandering around for some reason, or an imperial base. There's no in-between. There are so many cities, space stations, and ships you could be fighting on that would all grant a change of pace and add flavor to the environments, but we never get that. Why not have Cal defend a Rebel ship as it's being boarded? Speaking of, why not have AI have firefights with one another in general? I'd like to see Stormtroopers exchanging fire from behind cover or while entrenched instead of standing out in the open all the time. Trying to seal off doors to get away from you, or box you in. I also feel like the focus on platforming is a little detrimental, but that's just me. If a game has parkour and wallrunning I generally prefer for it to be integrated as part of the combat, like Titanfall or Ghostrunner. But with Fallen Order and Survivor it definitely shows that the platforming sections separate the fighting sections. And I guess there's not really anything wrong with that, but it just rubs me the wrong way. I think it's maybe because of how it flows. You get to an area, fight a group of enemies, and then go immediately into the next platforming section. Maybe it would be more interesting if the fights were longer, or you had to fight your way through hazardous terrain. And I don't mean getting shot at while walking on a balance beam, something where you're able to fight back. Again, all of this is my opinion, but I just really don't like the way everything flows. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but then again, it's Star Wars. Those are pretty big shoes to fill.

Just curiosity but are there swimming sections in this game similar to that in Jedi Fallen Order?

I don’t understand your complaint about the planets and going back and forth because I just replayed the first game and that’s just how it was there and I thought it was fine so I don’t get how that’s any different although I haven’t play survivor yet and could just no have the context behind your complaint

i love that bit how you get to build your lightsaber and change your look. those are what i look for in a game. opens up opportunities in sequels for even being able to change your voice, gender, species, entire appearance- height and build, at say a secret cosmetics centre on coruscant.. after all, kenobi was able to change into a bounty hunter undercover in tcw..

Sounds like a similar situation to Fallen Order: pirate then wait until Twitch or Epic give it out for free in a few years.

Overall, I had a great experience, I had some hiccups on the first day but no issues after that. Set up- 6950 xt gpu, ryzen 5600x, 32gb, b550 mobo, was able to get 65-70 on ultra settings. Few times it dipped to 30ish but not very often if not at all. I think nivdia cards are having more issues than amd gpus

I got the collector's edition for PC so I hope those performance issues are fixed by release tomorrow 😅

I really want to see a game where your stances are litterally the different lightsaber forms, they had a great opportunity there and i fell like the missed it

Yeah, as far as I know, those fram-rate drops aren't too wide spread. Frame rate does drop at certain points for pretty much everyone, but I don't think it's a problem for most.

They will almost certianly bring this into a 3rd game, and they could easily do pre-sequel stuff for the time between fallen order and survivor

What if respawn were to do a dlc like ghost of tsushima, where it can be done before the end of the game and still make sense to the story, maybe they could add another planet in the future that way

If the game doesn't run well on my setup, I plan to upgrade my CPU and maybe graphics cards. My motherboard can support the minimum spec CPU for survivor. Easier then total rebuild

I dont really wanna watch the video because of spoilers but what did you think of the story compared to the last game? Better? Worse?

I really feel the opinion about the blaster I havent even gotten to the crossguard stance yet but already i am fairly disappointed in the new lightsaber styles. The dual wielding and the blaster stance both feel really wierd to use especialy if you have other stances as your main focus.

I had absolutely no problems on my PS5, I played it smoothly at 60fps

I think this game is a 9.5/10 for me. Better in every way and really have to disagree on the exploring the galaxy part. There were really only 4 planets in Fallen Order and like you said Khobo is as big as three of them. Jedha is as big as two of them and then you have three more planets that are pretty much the same and as big as Ilum or Dathomir from the first game with FAR better level design in every way along with the ability to fast travel, which makes getting collectibles fun and not just an agonizing chore like the first game. There’s literally unlocks and collectibles too around literally almost every corner which just makes it fun to explore all the planets. I do agree on the inquisitor part but if the 3rd game revolves heavily around them which it probably will, it’ll be good to get a break. But I love all this high republic talk as it’s one of the most beautifully designed eras in a long time in Star Wars just from the art and it’s cool to just have more of the universe tie together. Performance was fixed mostly for me with the update on Tuesday on Series X so wasn’t an issue though I’d like to see even better performance and no drops at all to 40 or less but most of the time, the game stays at 50-60. But it is an absolutely gorgeous game with tons of animations and moving parts, especially on a few of the smaller planets.

Jedi Fallen Order was really meh after beating it. There were enjoyable parts, but there were a lot of annoyances that made it artificially difficult/tedious. This is a common critique of mine for most Souls-like games though. I think I'll skip Survivor... or maybe I'll get it on a good sale.

Honestly I'm about 3/4th the way through and I'm enjoying it, and I'm going to finish it. I will say my thoughts keep coming back to "this isn't going far enough into X" I love the greater enemy density, but I would really love more variety and less mini games. I love the combat, but would really love deeper skill trees and progression. Etc etc

- The blaster should happen, either with every fighting style, or it should have been incorporated to be like at is ezra bridges (part of his sabre) - the loot mechanic is still boring for the most part! - The story was okay, abit under developed - to maney cartoony characters - way way way too much platofrming - him forgetting how to use his powers untill he remembers learning them is stupid. I would would much rather have some kind of armour system with the ability to transmog different looks.

I loved Jedi: falled order. In fact, if I had to rate it I would rate it a 10/10. I genuinly think it was a masterpiece that does so much more and pushes the envelope of what a singleplayer game can do to "make you feel the force". Despite that, when looking at mainstream reviews, they suggest that the game is a great game, but nothing new. It was recieved as a 7 or 8 out of 10. What worries me is that the same will happen to this game, and seeing the way you've described the first game, I am unsure if you could appreciate the second game to the fullest. On top of that, mainstream reviews will say the same, so now I don't know if I should spend my money on a lukewarm sequel or spend it elsewhere.

It's a given that when playing games at launch, you should always use the console that they're most advertised with. PC games outside of esports are hardly ever smooth

Biggest issue with games and sequels nowadays is that they try to fix things that aren’t broken. Personally I am not even slightly disappointed that a lot of the fights are identical. They’ve brought us what was great about Fallen Order and added everything that was bad about it. It’s quite clear that this has been made purely on the back of fan opinion. And that I appreciate more than anything

Fallen Order was OK - I wouldn't say fantastic. But that's a taste matter for me: I was hoping for a modern Jedi Outcast, but that's not what we got. I doubt I will be buying Survivor any time soon. Maybe when it comes on a significant sale.

It makes no sense to me that you'd have to make your way back to the place you died, while trying not to use stims on enemies or lose too much hp before you get there just to fight everyone all over again and on top Cal doesn't heal after a fight

If you play on PC you will have a bad time because lately, that is where a lot of bugs and glitches are, I played on Console and had little issue..aside from the game crashing. I hated that there is no manual save and you had to save at a meditation point.

I think one of the reasons you see VRAM usage going up on PC is based on the consoles having so much. I believe both PS5 and Series X have 16GB of VRAM. Yes that 16GB is shared as both video and memory RAM but it seems like PC now has to have a minimum of 12GB of VRAM to run a game. That's just bad optimization.

I’m gonna do what I did last time. Wait till it comes out. It has heyday and fun and is picked apart. Then I’ll consider buying it if it’s going to be released on ps4, even if it’s digitally. I’m not about exclusive digital content or early access release. I come to the party after everyone has had their own parade and I just enjoy the game

Hopefully, performance for pc will be better with proper drivers and the day one patch.
