​@@itsSpicyGaming beat this boss in 2023 and after beating the game 4 times and Sekiro being my most favorite game in history of gaming, I'm on the last boss again and now I don't finish the game on purpose, I weekly revisit Isshin sword saint boss fight, beat him a few hours ago today, he was kinda changing his pattern a bit, it took me 10 or so tries again 😂, man I love Isshin

at this point, i was so good at this that i beat him in 3 tries... but i must say that genichiro at the castle was at least 70 so tries... i became kinda good because of him and first owl... second owl, was just a couple tries to.. and thats why this game for me is the best of all

Isshin is a lot harder on ng+ I remember it was a cake in 1st game, but much harder in ng3. NG+ fills your posture way faster.

I think I was at sub 20 as well, but it probably took me more than 100 tries for Genichiro, and I also did the Shura ending first.

I was done with him for exactly 27 tries and i remember each try so well

@@eacy7deacy Idk, genichiro took me 4 tries. first time fighting him but i am rather good at parries in the souls game (its not exactly the same but timing comes super naturally to me and I play souls games in the bosses face anyways) so for me, genichiro took a little bit to get used to but after him, everything went down in less than 5 tires. except for first corrupted monk, idk why but that lakdy was just frustrating to fight. it was so painfully boring parrying everything to hit her 3 times and her bar to deplete to repeat that process and parry the same 3 moves a hundred times till her hp dissapeared. and then isshin I beat in literally 2 tries. I think the difficulty in this game doesnt exist at all if you understand timing and patience. the hardest part by far is the timing on parries, especially spears but the game is nowhere near the hardest fromsoft game in my eyes. id probably give it to elden ring if you just play basic sword and dont giga level and summon. its super polarising because I just played it through this week for the first time and I went in with this insane expectation that its insanely hard and I will struggle but it was not a struggle at all. the game sort of doesnt engage you in the combat system outside of the first geni fight on the castle and then only again with isshin at the end, maybe you can say true corrupted monk does but I feel they truly didnt unlock this games true potential with the amount of boring, gimmick fights inbewteen the castle top fights and the final boss.

I feel that haha. Genichiro became really easy once I learned his patterns again.

I beat Sekiro about 10 times, platinumed it twice but never tried no kuro charm. I am now replaying the game NG+ no kuro charm and man you’re right, it’s almost a completely different game. No more spam deflect or block and hope it goes well.. you have to learn the bosses better than the back of your hand and then some. It’s so satisfying though.

Second phase is longer, more room for mistakes, but it's definitely easier. First phase with just the sword attacks a lot faster and more unpredictably so you'll get hit once or twice most likely

If you want to know what a sequel with Kuro being the MC would be I direct you to the new Gollum game and how awful it is.

Isshin is funnily where I figured out mechanisms. I was using hit and run on almost every boss. This guy will punish you to hell for that. Then, again in ng+, I lost to him a million times cause I reached him without learning how to perfect parry. He punished me for that. My advice on how to beat him? I lost to him so many times, I got pissed off. I removed all combat arts. Pure sword fight. His deflect timing is not when his sword reaches you. You’ll get hurt if you wait for that. You have to deflect as soon as his wrist starts moving. Posture break is lot easier than hp chipping. But if you give him a second, he’ll recover it all. Hesitation really is defeat. You have to change it into a sword dance. I can admit I don’t have the skills to block every attack of his. When he sheathes his sword run in a spiral to his right. And punish from behind.
