When you mentioned the “holy booktuber trinity” with Destiny, Hayley, and Sara i completely agreed BUT my trinity turned into a quaternity with you!! You + the other girls are my favorite booktubers to watch and i look forward to y’alls videos every week! 💕
A lot of booktubers have ADHD, anxiety, depression such as Sarah and Des. Making videos keep people focused and its a hobby they are happy to hyper fixate on. I as a fellow Nerodivergent, we can watch hours of videos of people talking without getting bored. Reading is not a chore, it helps us escape until it's safe to come out. The books have to be fun and interesting. We are building the Sims in our minds, when it gets bad in real life. I'm close to 40 with 4 kids, I need a strong world to eascape to to deal with having ADHD and to not feel selfish or guilty. You're doing great!
Girl.. your life is going to completely change after reading ACOTAR and you will surprise yourself with how quickly you can read thick books because you and me are basically the SAME PERSON i swear! I started reading in october too with verity and got into tiktok recommendations (ACOTAR) and have not been the same since, i cant believe how many books im reading. Fantasy/romance is definitely my favorite, and I agree on the mood-reading. I slipped a thriller into my rotation and was just NOT into it even though it has such good reviews, i'm in my fantasy era 😉
I love to see that BookTubers who have been doing this for a while decide to come back and do this tag. It's a great way to find new faces. You're not exactly new .. but welcome anyway! 😆
I saw you the first time on my home page on RU-vid a few Weeks ago! Since then I watched every video on your Channel and I love your videos so much! It's my comfort every day 💜
Welcome to Booktube! It's such a lovely space on the internet 🥰 I'm so happy to have discovered another booktuber who has ADHD! It can seriously be a challenge sometimes to navigate reading with ADHD but it's one of the most rewarding things when you find a reading schedule/system/preference that works for you. So happy to have you on Booktube!! 💕
if you're intimidated by super thick books you could try listening to the audiobook and reading along. that really helped me to get through crescent city
I had to do this with Iron Flame. The amount of pages I had to get through was very daunting and I would get overwhelmed, so having the audiobook to guide me was very helpful. It at least helped me to focus better because I was taking in the book visually and audibly.
Welcome to booktube! I did booktube for almost a year last year but it became too much for me and my schedule, but I still love the community so much! I love your channel already so I’m excited to watch your channel grow and hear your thoughts on books 💖
Omg thank you!! I love hearing that you were able to take a step back and realize it was too much for your schedule because I’m still learning how to balance everything and learn when to take a step back!! 🩷
@@HalJones I’m a stay at home mom like you but I’m homeschooling my oldest, my toddler isn’t napping anymore (which is when I used to film) and I have two high energy dogs that would always bark during filming and it made editing such a pain! My advice is don’t put too much pressure on yourself and don’t take it too seriously. Basically don’t make something fun into a chore.
@@autumnrose_noseinabook oh my gosh yeah that would be so hard!!! Thank you so much for your advice I’m definitely trying to remember not to take it too seriously and be too hard on myself!! 🫶🏼
Just here to say I love your channel! I started reading in 2022 and now have an 8 month old little boy and am really on a reading kick right now. You being a mom and reader speaks to me so much! Keep doing what you’re doing 😊 and I just added you on goodreads!
I love this video!❤ Your room is sooo so cute. Out of Haley, Destiny, Sara and you my favorite book tuber is you. ❤I know they have been posting for about 1-2 years, but your videos are so…interesting, and just amazing.❤❤
Reading with ADHD video sounds so cool and i’d love to hear your take and how you personally handle it :) So many people with adhd or other disabilities struggle with reading or just don’t read and there’s a reason for it!
Wow I had no idea you have two kids! I’m a mom with a 15 month old and always wondering how people with kids can balance reading. So glad I found your channel ❤
I literally LOVE POWERLESS!!! it was like my 2 book that i read when i started my reading journey and this might sound weird but powerless (and throne of glass) are literally my personality ❤its good to now i'm not the only one who feels that way 😄
I kinda relate with becoming a reader. I’ve always loved reading but I go through phases. But with adhd being an inconsiderate gal, I get into major slumps and I was literally in a slump that lasted about 6 years. But I picked up better than the movies on the 1st January last year and now we’re back in full swing (except assignments are ruining my hyperfixation plans 🥰)
Omgg I love this so much!!! I am so glad to hear that you’ve gotten back into reading but that plus assignments could be a lot!! Don’t push yourself too hard 🥰🫶🏼
I feel the same way about the Kindle vs Physical Book, when it first came out I was like no way I want the physical book but now that I have a kindle I’m just like yea I need both 🤣 Also, your love story is so sweet 🥰🥰
@@HalJones I want to build my library so I will buy them in physical form as my bank allows but I check them out on Libby so I don’t have to buy the kindle version if it’s not on unlimited!
also always wanted to say that i love your intro and outro (outro is my personal fav) just puts me in such a good mood, thank you for that, you said you've put a lot of energy in making those clips so... it was really worth it
You are a party of my holy booktuber trinity, you Sara and des! Love your videos. I have been reading in and off my whole like but it feels nice to have someone just starting out too. I love seeing your journey and you make me feel like reading a bit slower than anyone bc we’re just getting into it is okay!
Loved this video so much and getting to know a little bit more about you 🥹🫶🏽 also your love for Powerless literally makes me so happy bc same. Literally same. July canNOT come soon enough 😭
Firstly, hi fellow Leo! ♌️ Second, so nice to know that there is another mom who is dealing with anxiety and just doing the best they can with finding the mom/self balance. I have begun reading again recently. I asked my husband for a kindle for Christmas because I wanted that to be a big thing this year for me. I set my goal to 5 only because I wasn’t sure how well I was going to do and I’m on book 4 of this year even though one I finished this year I started at the end of the December. Sorry I like to ramble and do run on sentences I feel like.
I'm a sahm too and no friends. Before I moved to nc I had several but after a bit those friendships became nonexistent. Been here for over 13 yrs and tried twice but those 2 ppl ended up being fake. All that to say is I get it. Having this community gives you ppl to talk to who loves reading. I hope to grow mine so I can conversate about books bc I think being able to talk about what we read is fun. (Sorry for the over explanation.) For movies I love The Grinch too! I also love The Nightmare Before Christmas! Home Alone and The Santa Claus movies are good too! Those are all perfect holiday movies. One of my comfort shows is cartoon, Garfield. I sometimes use this cartoon as background noise and even use it some when my anxiety bothers me and I need a distraction.
If you don’t want to start your own Patreon but want people to do the 24hr reading challenges with I’m pretty sure Sara Carolli does them monthly on her discord!
❤📚❤️ I really enjoyed your video. You were very thorough with each question and spent time with encouragement on several topics. I love your devotion to family, but also taking time for yourself ... both are so important.
Literally my most anticipated video of January, I know i will rewatch it a couple of times! Thank you sm!!! So happy to see you! Btw, I started reading Mr Wrong number - omg i love it, i think it is my fav trope so far! thank you for showing that book to us! Also really waiting for the continuation of the harry potter series... i know it was hard, but i personally believe it's just bad luck that you have experienced ( i'm hoping)
OMG we are the same…well not literally. I am referencing the singing and the love of books. I have always read. Like at the age of 4 I would sit and beg my mom to teach me how to read so that I could “see the pictures in my head again”. But, as of 2 years ago I haven’t read almost at all for fun bc of school. But this year I have restarted my love of books with the Hunger games series 😂 but I just love watching you so much.
yk when you watch the ytber bcs of that 1 vid that just made you subscribe For me it was the kindle video (like reading vlog unboxing thingy) I really enjoyed that video that I just automatically keep watching your vidss.
I'm working on my TBR as well....my problem is that it keeps growing even as I read haha. half of what i read is e-book or fanfiction. I'm a mood reader too. I can be reading three or more books at once depending on what i feel like at the moment. typically an e-book, a fanfic and a physical book
Yess I have found myself doing this more and more and I never thought I’d be able to switch back and forth but sometimes I’m just in the mood for different things!!
@@HalJones I almost always read a book that has a romantic element to it but I made it a goal this year to read at least one non romace book a month. This month I chose The Institute by Stephen King because I already own it. Id love some recs if you have anything you absolutely loved!
Omg there are so many books I am terrified to read that are super popular because I dont know if I’ll like them or not and don’t want to be the only one to not like it 😂
Yessss I honestly was so afraid of this especially when I first started posting book content but people have been so reassuring and nice to remind me that the true beauty of reading is the fact that the same words on the pages can have a completely different affect on everyone who reads them and there’s so much more that goes into experiencing a book outside of the book itself like the books you read before or what’s going on in your life!! 🩷
Kinda sad to hear that I missed giving my own questions, and they’re so good!! Also I feel in high school there are a fair share of both sexes that aren’t the best at times, especially when hs is very different than adulthood (in my eyes fully starts at 20, but even more so after 25 partly due to your brain finishing it’s last parts of development; and this only changes slightly if you’re more mature than your actual age mentally but maybe immature at times etc. This doesn’t mean you can’t be immature after those ages, but you tend to do it as jokes or being funny in a mature immature way).
If it was me and it’s been a while since last posting the first thing I would do is just look up recent posts ok the topic to get reinspired and find new ideas!! 🩷
You are immune to tar and feathering as misers flail their arms but never fly. Our jubilee in puddles black as ink like Holi colors rocket wayward by. Why haven’t you returned the Renaissance? Why can’t a masterpiece be painted twice? December 16th. Crates of tea we sunk, as Holi powders color humankind. All art has found its museum in yourself. All Holi colors in midair combine, creating nebulas on cheeks and brows like nebulas a telescope will find. Exult above the tax collector’s cries. We weren’t designed to pay to be alive. I am Nicholas Leonard, and this is a sonnet I've written
Hmm since you wanted to be a superstar, and me as a singer; I’m curious if you sang in choir? To me if you’ve sung in choir, and have natural talent; then you’re set to potentially be a superstar or full artist!!
yesss I did choir and LOVED it!!! my entire family is full of singers so I always grew up with someone around me singing, family events turning into family choir lol things like that
I love watching your videos. I feel like I can relate to you even though I'm in my 40s, single with no children. I do have ADHD though and can relate with how your brain works, lol.
Im Only new to reading. Ive started off with Powerless by Lauren Roberts and i've ordered the Bn exclusive version and hardcover cause I loved it so much! I was just wondering if you know of any other good Romance fantasy books?
Omggg what a good book to start with 😭 honestly the only other two I’ve really read so far are fourth wing and most recently a court of thorns and roses which were both AMAZING!!!!
stay away from “a little life” 😭!! i do not recommend that book to anyone. definitely need to be in a good mind space. that book made me cry like a baby and i still think about the main characters every day 💔
Watching ur vids just make me so happy 😊🩷 I love watching someone discover this hobby that has helped me throughout my life in some of my hardest moments. I always try to get my non-reader friends into reading bc I feel like it’s such a good universal hobby that everyone can find something of value in and I’m happy u found that 📚🩷😘
This was so fun to watch, considering it's a 59 min video and I didn't skip a second😝💗💌🤍 I am a lot younger than you and I would like to take some advice from you seeing as you have a growing channel. So if you could just tell me how do we get that instant growth because I've been on RU-vid for approximately 2 years now and I don't have more than 200 subscribers which is really disheartening-
Thank you for sharing with us about your life! ✨ I was so excited when you answered my question 😄 The way that you and your husband met is seriously SO CUTE! And I loved the other questions people posted. I was like, "oooh, good question!" As far as one of your questions goes, I would love to see you do a video reading popular manga 😁
I decided to listen to you at work while doing some boring stuff, caught myself crying in the middle of the process (your answer about kids is wholesome)
