Please upvote to help Dankus with audio issues. I have been saying it for months but finally you might see the amount of comments regarding the audio quality. Here's what to do: Your gain setting is up WAY too high. What you need to do is to test this, by shouting "E-Shportsh 1,2,3" into your mic whilst lowering the GAIN untill it never goes into the red. If it ever goes into the red you are effectively "clipping" the sound wave beyond what the mic can handle. Much like red air is bad in Hoi4, going into the red in any recording is bad and demonstrates a recording skill issue. Once you have lowered the gain to the point that you can comfortably "shout" into it without it going into the red you are good. Now: If you then listen to the recording back and it sounds too quiet, then you can raise the output level (Volume) to the point that you are not overly loud or too quiet. Gain has little to do with the "loudness" of a recording. Increasing gain effectively alters ( or 'ALTAAAA!', in your case) the wave-form so it sounds like you are shouting through a shitty megaphone. So why not have zero gain? Because you need to counter what is called the "noise floor". "Noise" is anything undesirable in a recording and all electronic devices produce a hum or buzz. So if you put your gain too low, you will not overcome the noise floor. So you need to balance (that's why it's called a 'balancer') to establish a correct ration between overcoming noise floor, and not distorting (clipping) your sound to get the best fidelity (accurate copy) of what you are recording. I can't tell you what settings to have because each mic, voice and background noise is individual to the person, environment (acoustics) or mixer you have. It is something that once, achieved, will be unique to your set-up> Hopefully you get to read this and don't take it as anything other than constructive criticism and helpful advice because I, for one, love your content but on several occasions I can't bring myself to upvote it (worse sometimes, even watch it) because it legitimately hurts my ears.
