Exactly. The odds on all of the games have been mathematically set so that the house always wins. It may take a number of bets for you to lose all of your money, but they will get it all. Luck is a fiction.
Gambling is an addiction that so many have, a lot of women as well but not many talk about. Its an addiction like any other and should be treated like a disease
Money and acceptability in society. And most people don't understand how easy it is to get sucked into. Especially if people are using it to help cope in life.
The surest bet was betting on me when I played anyone on a pinball machine. I was a former 6 time world pinball champion. I played pinball at the Broadway arcade in New York and went undefeated for two decades. I was part owner of the arcade with Steve Epstein.
Having a gambling addiction can hurt more than the addict. My wife had a good friend that had a sister who had a gambling addiction so bad she lost her business, house, and family. It got to be so bad she acted as a lookout for someone who attempted to break into our house. Fortunately, I had the window setup where you cannot open it or lift it out of frame from the outside.
Absolutely, gambling is just as strong as any addiction to alcohol or drugs. Mine was alcohol. Fortunately for me it has changed to filmmaking in my old age.
Same happened to me.. Earlier when I started my sales business.. I had less capital… gambling ( sports betting gave me a little boast). I won several time… I always knew it was a gamble and that I can’t always be lucky.. Later on everything changed… At some point I started developing the idea that I could go in again and make more money to expand my business… Right now my business is down 😢😢
I'm not an educated woman at all, so don't take what im.saying super literally. I belive that Gamblers like to play with their adrenaline. The exhilaration they experience when winning far surpasses the birth of a new baby or the successful.completion of ..say a Painting that has finally been completed or you finally get that job you've been after for sooo long. Its not so much as the Stalk, like addicts go through, it's all.about the Kill. The Win. Gambling is simply all about Lying to yourself. None of it is the gamblers fault, ever! It's blamed on Bad Luck. In other words, it's not ME! It's my LUCK. It's not my thinking. It's my bad luck! Sooner or later I'll get Lucky. Dats all!!
Not sure about other states but I know my state doesn't have any rehab facility for gambling addicts. Basically calling a hotline or going to addiction meetings ( that aren't even specified to gambling ) is about all we have. It's pathetic how limited the resources are. Drug addicts and alcoholics seem to have a plethora of rehab options though. Gambling addicts are typically afterthoughts.
Want you all to listen to this gambling addiction is just as bad as being addicted to drugs the only differences drugs class a drugs will kill you end The story about drugs but being addicted to gambling is a slow death even worse I lost $150,000 on sports betting to one bookie and I lost Another $70,000 to another bookie I was a poker dealer I used to work all week for my Tips and go to the casino and lose all my money playing the slot machines I didn’t even have any money for food when I got home so if there’s any politicians who are going to make Sports betting legal in California please don’t we know that they do it anyway because I did it and I know it was against the law but we know that people do it but this will destroy lives thank you

Here's a tip with gambling in general whenever you're playing for fun you win more but the minute you start to take it serious and get frustrated with the game you will continue to lose but as long as you play for fun winning becomes easy
If you know mathematics you understand what pays for the casino building, the employees, the “free” drinks, and all the flashy lights. The odds favor the house, period.
Now with all the sports betting and $30/$50 scratch off tickets it's worse than ever, addicts don't stand a chance, Give your life to God he's a friend till the end
I made a living at Greenwood racetrack in Toronto back in the 1970's thanks to Ron Waples senior. He went with every horse every other week and always went with a horse coming in from another racetrack. You'd think the betting public could figure it out but they never did. In Canada winning are all tax free.
Is there a single person in history, who was a competent gambler, who had an IQ of less than 150? Isn’t the simple solutions I have these people who are gamblers and addicted to get an IQ test and simply give them the number and say no matter what you do no matter how hard you work you will never be a competent gambler because you’re simply not smart enough.
Felt bad for the daughter, being forced into a role her mum should have done. Not her fault her dad was an addict. and being threatened too. Mum was wrong to lay a guilf trip on her innocent daughter.
Betting with bookies in the old days could get dangerous. Because you could bet with money you don’t have. Only had to worry about it if you lost. Nowadays betting online you first have to have the money in an account before betting. So legalizing sports betting actually is a good thing. Helps people from getting in over their head.
That is far from the truth. An addict will always chase the bet and sometimes it's about being in the action and it's not about winning. It ultimately ends the same way whether using bookies or legal sports betting online: prison, insanity, death, loss of family, loss of self, loss of job, loss of family.
You’re wrong. You can bet money you don’t have online. It’s called ACH and they front you the money where they will take it out 1-2 biz days after and can put your account in negative! You don’t know what you’re talking about
Well , that clearly can't be as dangerous as betting on credit . So your account goes negative . Its not like you can continue betting once that happens .
The obvious solution is for the father to bring her daughter to the racetrack and to the casinos with a fake birth certificate. She doesn't understand the good side of gambling. Even to this day I make a fortune betting maiden races. I'm known as the master of the maidens.
Oh come on, give an old man a break. It might be elementary level, but realize that I'm a 72 year old geezer who just picked up a real camera for the first time in Feb. of last year. I'm in RU-vid film school now learning what I can.
Too late now, long story on that one but the short one is that the audio recordist lost the entire audio of that scene. I was able to use my camera audio with some tweaks and fixed her comment as best I could. Know now I should have had her do an ADR. Learning as I'm going here.
Some people are lucky and knows how to play i have a friend most of the times wins u just need to know how to stop not easy .. Play as ur budget not more what u can afford and if u win a little keep it and be happy with it and try some other time again so no one get hurts better to loose a bit than loose it all!! Ive been in this isn’t easy to control but it’s possible
If you’re gambling $50, that $50 should be mentally treated as a write-off or a mere “amusement fee”. But if you happen to win say $136 in the process and would like more fun, then you should treat $100 of that amount as the “floor” and gamble with only $36. If you get to say $172, then $150 becomes the floor and $22 is expendable. That way you’d crystallise your progressive windfall and walk away with net win everytime, or at most you’ve limit your loss to only $50 (assuming you don’t do it too often). And for the love of god if that $50 is for rent then please pay rent because you have exactly $0.00 for gambling.
Does Whom Gamble our Have Gambled in Thy past Don't Regret it👈👉Remember Life is Short👈👉But Atleast You'll Be Happy looking Back And Saying To Yourself Atleast I Had Chance To Play inside of Casinos Either Win our Loose Sometimes👈👉Thats My perspective point of Viewing👈🕵✌
What is discerption? 😜 But anyway I didn’t write it and couldn’t afford Brad Pitt. But I did have an uncle that had a pretty bad gambling habit so I went with it.
Picks number eleven in a five horse race. What we have here is people preaching on a subject they're not familiar with. Your message is noble, but the implementation is meh.
I've never heard of such relax gambling laws. I'm Texas and we only have state lottery. Casino are outlawed with the exception of two tribal casinos. My state pushes back in full fledged casinos because of the states conservative culture. People drive out of state to play legally
Good short but unfortunately in the USA free rehab services for drug and alcohol addiction are marginal at best and for gambling addiction practically non existent. Gambling addiction is a total bitch - doesn't just kill you outright like other addictions, destroys your finances, relationships and hope for the future on and on - insidious
Well done. Sadly the America lacks good resources for this addiction. GA is great but spread thin. The UK has much more assistance in a smaller area, and much posted on RU-vid. It really is a silent epidemic. Thanks for making this.😊
In the UK we have gamstop, its an online app you sign up to free enter your details and it bans you from every online casino, you cannot sign in to any UK casino at all it just rejects you even if you change phone or computer, you can exclude for a year or 5 years , I've just redone another 5 years, its probably the best thing the government ever introduced
I think we, who struggle with this, and GA need to push our elected representatives to recognize that compulsive gambling is an addiction as dangerous as being a drug addict and/or alcoholic. The resources for gambling addicts are limited. Insurance companies don't even recognize it as a disease, yet gambling affects the brain the same way it does drug addicts and alcoholics. We need to take a stand. We can hide the gambling addiction, unlike drug addicts and alcoholics, which somehow makes us not worthy of professional help.
Elected officials don’t make money off of street heroin but they make plenty from the gambling and gaming racket. The government is NEVER “here to help you”
Brains are highjacked by gambling. It’s the repeated dopamine hits….as much as hundreds per hour. Brain scans show this. Nobody wants to be a problem gambler. By the time someone realizes or can admit the problem, they are likely in deep. It’s a lifetime disease. But there IS recovery for those who truly are ready. For those who say, “just don’t go” - would be wonderful if it was that simplistic a solution. Ongoing support is needed. And the problem is getting worse & worse thx to Smartphone gambling and legalized sports betting. Our youngest legal gamblers are paying the price AND it’s a family disease. Nobody is really immune from being affected.
I detest gambling, casinos and anything to do with games of chance with a vengeance. I equally detest smoking, drugs, womanizing, will have the odd drink though. Healthy and wholesome living is my mantra.
Poor girl is coping with a dad battling addiction and a pretty horrible, manipulative mother who is putting the parental responsibilities on a kid's shoulders.
I made a living at Greenwood racetrack and Mohawk racetrack back when all the races were fixed before the slot machine era. After the slot machine era I made over 100 million dollars betting honest races. I'm known as the master of the maidens and the only person on Earth who knew about Bulldog Hanover when he was bought by Jack Darling. I also knew about Sylvia Hanover but her pedigree is stellar so anyone could have guessed that one. I'm a regular on Woodbine Replays.
