wait with that valve cover off did you try and turn the motor to see if the overrev just detached the timing chain from the lower sprocket or was that all together still and cams still moved? obviously could be bent valves but I think there is some room for diagnosis at least for the top cams if they are moving at all, i've seen broken vanos bolts from an over rev situation and the lower oil pump sprocket nut completely coming off, would hate to see a beauty like this not get a second chance if it could still run.
