I get people telling me that in this day and age you can not buy a car in the $500 range any longer. The truth is, you can still get them, but you might have to do a little work.
Thanks for saving these old beaters for those who can't afford a shiny overpriced vehicle. There are plenty of people who can only spend a couple grand or less. I'm sure there's a single mom who's barely getting by that would be clad to own the fusion and a good beater van or truck are always handy. Ignore the negativity and keep doing what you do. Thanks for the video!✌
I have a 2000 F150 long bed with the 4.6 v 6 great truck have been driving it for 3 years. Only put new alternator brakes and tires and I got the truck for free. Funny thing is my odometer does the same thing yours does, works when it wants.
A neighbor bought a wrecked 2010 Tundra double cab 4WD for $4K. He put $4K into it. He now has around 120K miles and he can still get $20K if he sold it, but he plans on driving it until it dies
You definitley could be back in business quickly with all three of those vehicles. The Fusion or truck are probably the 2 best ones. There are several of those Fusions in the junkyards, you could easily source the parts for that one, and be back on the road with not to bad of a car in a few weeks as you say. I own a 2009 Fusion, its got 170K on it and still running strong, those are good cars really reliable. The F250 looks similar. Personally I would pass on the van just from Gas consumption for a daily driver, but if you needed a van looks like a great candidate for van life. I have to admit you have proven that there are those under $1000 vehicles out there.
We have a very nice 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. We’re looking for another 4WD pickup that runs good and is sound mechanically to use for plowing the snow off our private road and driveway and for hard work around our property. I / we don’t care what it looks like, we just care about working it.
Hey, Boss. I'm on the low budget vehicle buying guy myself.. "well, that's all I can afford" because my fiance is disabled and has a bad heart, so, this past year and a half has been really rough on us. Due loosing our pick up truck, because the motor went out in it and we didn't have the funds to either fix it or purchase another used truck, and it's funny 🤣 as I was watching your video when you got to the Ford pickup and you mentioned it would be good for a scrap truck. Because that's what I do scrap and recycle pallets Sir. And, so that was really our only means of income especially with her health conditions and I have a bit of health problems myself, high blood pressure/ seizures. But,by the grace of God, he gives me the ability to have the strength to keep pushing forward to take care of my fiance. So, I do apologize for my bothering you with this long boring story Sir. But, what I am getting at if you or someone you know has a truck or a van for maybe two or three hundred bucks, or if they want to donate it or anything to that effect Sir. Because, luckily we have that county care insurance or the medical bills would be sky high, and so I am sorry for telling you bit's and pieces of my life story, but it would truly be a blessing to receive just a beater truck or van to be able to get back to work scrapping and recycling pallets.. along with Side jobs, moving, junk removal etc... something for the small guy... And I dig your shirt dude 😎. Um, but I appreciate you taking the time to read this as it was a bit embarrassing for me to try and reach out to you with my situation.. but most importantly stay safe and God bless you and your family, and keep on filming... Love your videos... Thanks, sincerely, Daniel
I love Chevys, but the van is too rusty. It wouldn’t pass inspection where I live. The Fusion would take several days to repair and I’m sure there are a few more pieces that will be needed to repair it , but that’s okay. You’re right the pickup looks like a good deal 👍.
I've only bought 1 new car in my life and that was a 75 Camaro. Ever since I've paid cash drive for a few years then sell for what I paid for it or more. Plus I've done what you do for extra income. I hate payments
You have to put some thought into what you buy. You also have to know what to look for when you check out the cars. When I buy cheap cars and trucks, I try to buy something that I can make money on if it turns out to be a non runner. Most cars at the $500 mark you can part out and make your money back. Not over paying is the name of the game.
I always drive junkers by choice I can't afford the insurance on nice stuff and I'm older! I've never had a payment not once but I've got friends who have had payments over 25 years cause they buy something new every 3-5 years or less
$500 deals Cant find from being impatient, and feeling like i deserve better than a 2007 ford focus because i had a 2018 Kia. i should be able to get a 2015 kia for $500 😢
This is why I have a 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed magnum V8 46 RE automatic overdrive transmission manual shift transfer case lever on the floor front suspension is completely rebuilt doesn't wander all over the road, and it has a replacement front pump input shaft seal and torque converter shifts right into reverse and started backing up and the truck has rust around the edges along the bottom it is a bit rusty over the front fenders they are rusted out but it has the original Ohio title and owners manual the factory ignition key with the Rams head cut into the key and carrying above 40psi oil at engine operating temperature with 210k miles because of rusted off brake lines and a supposed to be bad alternator and battery and the junkyard swapped flat black front doors and the Dr side rear door latch seized, replaced the junk battery and all new complete set of stainless steel brake lines from classic tube out of Ohio, and then the actual issue the ground cable from the power distribution center under hood fuse block the bad leaking battery almost ate in two and the rusted off front main brake line right under the battery cable and now it starts right up i gave $1,500 for the truck and this is not the normal short bed most of the club cab and quad cab trucks usually are, and the Laramie slt aluminum wheels, pdl pw tilt steering all work
You buy a 500 dollar car because you got hit by an uninsured driver and you only have liability on a 5000 dollar car. I know this because I’ve done it.
I have seen the same thing happen on other vehicles. If I ever get one that the motor seems to be locked up on, I remove the serpentine belt and tried to turn it by hand from the green pulley. When I discovered the engine would turn I just simply Turned all the other pulleys until I found the one that was locked up. I took a chance on it and won this time. Does not always happen.
