Consensus group is not longer available for miners. Only individuals or groups who have staked 10,000 hnt or more can be validators which is now the consensus group. You could of course join a pool to stake.

It does seem a little much to need 10k helium to stake before you can be a validator and does it really earn any money

@@RyanHuffman 10,000 HNT is quite alot yes, approximately $120,000-$150,000 at current prices. You can always join a pool and be compensated based on how much hnt you have staked and the payout % of the pool. It is worth it to stake hnt as it is for many other crypto. Its a great way to earn some passive income especially for those who would normally just horde coins and earn nothing from this.

yes,and no you have to place large sums of money and luck to benefit $60k-$1m 10-100$

I would agree with @Turk because if you do a $1 black jack hand and win, you earn $2. But if you bet $10k and win you get $20k. So it would be very hard to make a living off of gambling unless you have money already.
