@@collectorjohn9538 I think it's missing the bottom half of the disc. DVDs are sandwiched together by two halves. You're missing the bottom half of the disc. That's why it's so thin. Trust me I've pulled apart many DVDs in anger before.
Fun vid! Rally Sport Challenge ohh the memories one of my fav games from back in that day that I finished to the end (I had bought the original Xbox at launch with Halo, NHL Hitz lol and a spare controller)
Hey man! Your biggest fan in Bloomington, MN. Ha. New Legends is a 3rd person action game. I believe it’s an exclusive. You should try it! Glad to see another awesome video man.
Hey John! Watching games pick ups videos and unboxings are my favourite way to relax, and it's great to know that there are other collectors out there that enjoy collecting just for the love of the game. You've got my subscription. 👍
The clean shave threw me off at first. Cool “experience” with OG Xbox games. I love the analytics at the end especially. Hope you have a great transition from February into March.
Nice pickups! Even with all the trash ones and the slew of sports games, you still ended up with a decent amount of games for a decent price! What I do when I get a lot of games, the ones that I don't keep, I send them to my friend who then chose the ones he wants and then he sells the rest to a gaming store to get some credit to get a game he wants. I get games that I want for a decent price, he gets games for free and can sometimes get some credit for the rest of it so I like paying it forward! Great video and keep up the good work!
You also gotta love the irony of how sometimes that the crappiest games are packaged awesome .. and then great ones aren't package well at all ... like all together loose in an envelope. It's like luck of the draw sometimes with some sellers.
game with Mag Luck ? His calculations, forget the shipping, worth index, LOL Why care about the condition, need collectors items or too cheap to collect disks ? Here, these disks are $ 0.50 in shops that clean them.
Yep, forget about it for a bit and the next time you'll take it out it's gonna be straight, leaving it like that will just crease it even more when you open and close the case.
Really cool video. I used to buy ps2 games on Ebay and it was a mixed of good to horrible games, but at least was cheap. Id love to do buy more ps2 lots in the future
Just sitting here scrolling RU-vid with my oversized fleece when this video randomly showed up. Subscribed as soon as the intro was over. Love finding small quality channels like this.
Finally, someone understands my excitement for old receipts and documentation. Something about owning those things that do nothing for me really does it for me.
I still think it was ultimately a good deal and definitely a fun video. The first game you opened from that roached batch was funny i literally gasped 😅
@@collectorjohn9538I'm sure you know this but they will give you more store credit than cash. I almost always get store credit so I can get other games I really want.
For myself, regarding collecting games i only collect and buy disc only. This has allowed me to build a massive collecting of games that take up very little space and for much, much less then CIB (complete in box) I use eBay for this. For example, on the seach bar type, xbox 360 disc only. Prices are a lot cheaper. The only systems i collected CIB are GameCube, Saturn and Dreamcast. Price of disc only doesn't usually seem to cost that much less then CIB and disc only seach on these three systems are very limited, same very games time after time. And i have special memory's regarding Saturn and Dreamcast so getting these CIB means a lot more to me then OG Xbox, 360, PS1-PS4. I'm fully digital with Xbox One, Xbox Series and PS5. I only buy games for these three systems that are not on the digital stores, like for example the Deadpool game. The trickiest part was finding high quality cd binders, so many of them are utter crap. I found one brand that is built of high standards and actually hold the number of discs they state, 500 discs. Many say a number but don't hold the amount they advertise. I have 2x books for OG Xbox, 2x books for Xbox 360, 1x book PS1, 1x book PS2, 1x book that shares PS3 & PS4.
That’s a pretty cool philosophy. I’ve been doing that for ps1 games, and ps2 unknowingly I guess. I’m with you on Dreamcast CIB, you gotta spend the extra $10-15 for the whole package. Dreamcast had so much soul with there presentation.
It’s funny. I sell video games as well and it’s almost impossible to take pictures of scratches, yet in this video scratches show up so easily. Which means they’re even worse in person than what you’re showing. SMH some people are horrible for selling this crap
Thankfully the game store I trade at doesn’t care about scratched discs as long as they can be resurfaced. They have one of those giant automated resurfacers that can do giant batches of discs, and they buff every disc they sell anyway. Makes buying lots online easier to just pull the ones I want and trade the rest without worrying about condition.
I was under the understand that DVDs are 2 discs stuck toghther and so maybe that DVD of Cel Damage has some how been seperated. If you look at a disc carefully from the side you will see the 2 layers of plastic
I bet that cel damage game has been resurfaced down to the data layer. Explains the thinness. With Each resurface, at least to my knowledge, takes a layer of polycarbonate, and I believe most discs only have 3 layers before you get to the aluminium layer (The data layer) which I think has also been resurfaced off which would explain why it doesn't work
you actually WANT the sticker on the sports game, because that is the original casing. the ones with the sticker are worth more, especially the rare ones.
Those sports stickers are actually very easy to remove with goo gone. Just peel the top layer off with your finger (it isn't hard) and then wipe the silver residue off with goo gone. It comes off very quickly
That Cel Damage disc was WILD lol I always enjoy a good case swap. Very satisfying to upgrade the old cases. Just a shame most sports games have those holographic ultra sticky stickers on them. I’ve actually ripped the plastic right off of the case trying to remove one of those before.
@@collectorjohn9538heat gun is pretty too, or goo gone from the spray bottle let it sit for 10 mins or so it will eat the stickers residue then you can wipe off the residue it leaves
24" Sony Wega CRT with component. Just a generic cable for now, would love to get a OEM component cable but they're really pricey. I have a regular Xbox with a 1.6 motherboard and a Halo edition Xbox as well.
protip for cases with sports league stickers on them: you can hold a can of air duster upside down and spray the stickers which freezes the adhesive and allows for easy removal. you can even use this method to remove some stickers from cardboard boxes and slipcovers. been using this trick for years now.
You should get some goo gone or something like that, which is great to easily get off those leftover sticker residue etc on the cases and clean them up
Respect for your "i just want a working game" outlook on collecting. It shows that you are actually looking to PLAY your games. A lot of "collectors" just want them as shiny pieces of plastic that are worth x dollars.
A lot of good games on the original xbox. I recently started collecting for it because I only had about a dozen games from when I was playing it. Now I'm up to 35 and looking for more.
That thin ass game most have had a pretty deep scratch for them to have resurface it like that, maybe try to put some tape on the CD face to try to make it work.
I used to have the steel box case for halo 2, back in 2006, my bedroom was robbed and some of the things that were taken were my ps2 and Xbox as well as all of the games I had for them.
Hey, just use some isopropyl alcohol to remove the stickers - you don't have to swap whole cases. Pour some alcohol, gently rub it on the sticker and wait a few moments. And remember to remove cover first, alohol may damage it! The sticker and dry glue will come off :) I do this every time i buy 360 games.
Hot Pursuit 2 is a great game, but the version differences are more than usual with that one. The PS2 version was actually made by an entirely different developer than the Xbox/GCN/PC versions.
So im big into collecting for the xbox 360 currently. I have ran across plenty of resellers that are selling games in the $1-$3 range on Mercari and so far all have been pretty decent shape. A lot of them have only been pictures of the front cover because of the bulk amount they list. Maybe ive just been lucky?
Those holographic stickers are super easy to remove, I do it all the time when replacing wwe cases. Just get out the trusty hairdryer, heat it up, then peal it off gently so that it doesn’t rip. Easy peasy
funny enough, that turok that you said wasn’t in an OEM case, actually was. but it was an OEM 360 case, not original xbox (remember the PGA sticker?). 360 game cases were a lot thinner and flimsier and felt cheaper than OG xbox cases.
Topspin... I was really hurt to see it on the trash pile.. I played this game for hundreds of hours on both xlink Kai and Xbox live... Was pretty high up in the ranks too... Good memories
One thing I don't like about mercari is the smaller return window. Maybe do a chargeback on your credit card. You are in the right since the seller lied.
Not a bad idea but it was so long ago (like 8 months) that I don't think it would matter at this point. It's more of a problem with buying stuff for videos and then letting it sit forever until I can get to it haha
Love this type of video and how long it is! Another great video! Can’t believe you got both the suffering games in this. Amazing underrated games! Plus dark alliance, also amazing. Btw you can definitely remove the sports sticks. Just peel off the sticker like any other sticker then use goo gone on the residue. Done it many times!
Lmao glad someone noticed this. I've run into Mark a few times (I live in Milwaukee) and he's an awesome dude. American Movie is probably my favorite documentary
