great video. you have some great mechanical skills, i hope to see a few more v70R videos. my daily is a silver 2004 v70R manual with the attacama interior. its had a few of the same issues as yours.
I am making this comment without watching your video (as I have previously purchased and owned similar volvos), my first guess is that the turbo is bad or on its way out (burning oil leaking into the exhaust side), the head gasket is bad, the timing belt has not been changed, there may or may not be a bent valve (or burnt valve), and it needs a heater core (if it has blown the head gasket - the coolant system is already under higher pressure than most conventional coolant systems, so when the head gasket goes and pressurizes the coolant system it usually blows a seam on the heater core which is stainless steel epoxied to some HDPE). I predict it could be one or all of those things. Let see!!.....
After having watched the episode.... it's soooooo much worse!!!! I think I would have trailered it much earlier than you did out of pure frustration. (actually, I would have probably tried to end the sale once I saw the car due to complete misrepresentation of the condition of the car and gone looking for something better while in FL..... or just to the beach)
Yeah, in hindsight that may have been the better choice. However, omitting mechanical and electrical issues, the main body structure of the car is about as clean as they come (door dings aside), so I wanted to keep going and see if i'd make it. Luckily, I've purchased another complete parts car from a salvage auction (2004 model year as well), so I plan to swap over almost everything that I can (electrical and mechanical) and give the wagon the attention it deserves. That'll be coming in a future video. At least it made for a good adventure!

yet the ebay listing stated every single option! The absolute isolence and deception among ppl these days in the USofA is really pathetic. That owner had another volvo, so he knew what he was doing and that the car was utterly non-op and fraught w/ issues that only someone with knowledge or brains could fix.
