Thanks for making these videos! I was looking around for a used SUV and after discovering the Android head unit and then your RU-vid channel, I bought an ‘07 Fx35 last weekend. Looking forward to your install video!
Can't wait for the uploads of this install.. I was hesitant about getting this and will use your method via Ali Express..the seller on eBay asked for photos to make sure it matched with my O4 and now keeps messaging me asking when will I purchase and is wanting just over $700..
I’m working on the install video today. I hope to have it finished early this week. If you like technology you will likely enjoy it, but if you want perfect integration...the factory system is best. I’ll try to explain in detail what I love and what I don’t about the new Android system.
So stoked on these videos! Checking back daily for your install video on this unit! Where you able to install it without issues? When are you planning on uploading?
I have the android stereo installed and I wish I could say there were no problems, but I've had intermittent problems from the CAN module that controls the factory heat and AC system. I've been working with the vendor in China so I hope I get it solved soon. I have already recorded quite a bit of video, but I wanted to get everything solved before I post it.
Just Projects ah dang that’s too bad! I’m sure it’s a similar situation for most buyers, which will help future buyers immensely by watching you resolve the situation, hopefully! Best of luck and thank you for the response! Your videos are awesome.
I have the same radio different seller though. However Im running into simular problems. Calibration is off to touch a/c controls dont work took 10 tries to synch phone to radio had to download an app for it and not enough wire connectors to the car from radio. Im contacting the seller today via Facebook. Oh how do i find your instsll video?
Did you need any aftermarket wiring harness kits or were you able to use the existing wires? Also does yours have Android auto? Did you mount a usb input? (08 fx35) - if existing did you need to splice anything? Also looking at the 12.1" - looks like it's longer with no bottom plastic. Any thoughts on that one? Looking forward to the install video!
@michael if you have an ‘08 then it’s slightly different than Just Projects’ 04 model. Let me know which one you end up getting, I have a ‘07 fx35 which is just like yours and also doesn’t have the bottom plastic piece
@@SGreen-lp9zm I would buy the Coverlay cover to hide your bubbling dash. The new Android head unit had a setting to activate the factory Bose Amps. I did not bypass anything.
Did you keep the AC box in the car. It's in the middle of the stack between the factory screen and the stereo box. The AC requires the CAN connection to be working ( it was a small red box that came with the new kit)
I have an external TMPS system with screw on sensors that replace your existing valve stem dust caps. It comes with a USB connected receiver that plugs into the Android head unit. I found an app on the play store which is compatible with the receiver. I ordered mine with the Head Unit from China, but I would recommend just buying this on Amazon if you are in the USA.
I think it might be possible if you are willing to bypass the factory Bose system, but the way the Bose systems are designed, I think that there is a discrete amp for each speaker. I imagine you would need to rewire from the new amp to each speaker also.
@@justprojects1038 owned a 1990 300Z TT with each speaker having its own Bose amp yes... I was planning on adding a line out converter. Thank you for your quick response
