The 87 im getting on Tuesday same thing. 95,000 original miles, one owner, ac not working. Garage kept her whole life, pretty much a no brainer on why im getting the one im getting. The grandson n law is doing an oil change, air filter, plugs and wires over the weekend for me. But other than a little cosmetic on the outside the interior is amazing. The headliner looks brand new. Evidently the grandfather that owned it never rolled the windows down. Tuesday cant her here soon enough, cant wait to start getting her ready for my next adventure.

@JustLou71 I haven't had an opportunity to put anything up there on the roof rails. I guess I have had so much storage room in the van I haven't thought about putting anything up there. But now I am interested! I did think about installing an awning. Does yours come with the roof rails as well?
@hillbillyrickoutdoors5208 it has the same as yours. I have roof rails that can be attached and a cargo basket and hard shell. Just trying to find specs for the weight capacity and can't find anything.
Thats actually not a bad looking van I love the nostalgic look and feel of it. I think you did really well with it I'm excited for you and to see how this project turns out!

I bought a 1988 for $800 in 2006, got 14mpg,ran great but AC didn't work. Only complaint from me is the lack of foot room in the drivers seat, I spent a lot of nights sleeping in the back.
Wow, that was a great deal! My AC is tore up, in fact it is missing pieces. Other than that not much else is wrong except the drivers side door window doesn't work. It's 34 years old and has a lot of wear and tear but in good shape for the year. I like it so far. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
@@hillbillyrickoutdoors5208 Window motor, pull the door panel off hit the switch and tap the window motor with a hammer, might start working. But will need a motor.
My Dad and I tried that and you can here it click so I think I need to order a regulator. I'm ready to get it working though. Thank goodness for the wing windows!
