VW's are terrible. You'll be much happier. As much as you drive A Toyota, Honda, or Subaru are much better suited for your lifestyle. I own Toyota's and have never been let down by them one of them even has over 500,000 miles and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across country. Congrats on the purchase brother!
Agreed. I currently drive a beetle and corolla. Corolla is boring but dependable. Beetle is cool and fun to drive but breaks every 2-3,000 miles. Very expensive to repair.
Congratulations Jay! You will never regret owning a Subaru! We have owned nothing but Foresters since 2009, and we are a road trip couple. We've never sold or traded one in with less than 215,000 miles. 2 sons in the military and multiple road trips to FL and other vacays per year. Never a problem. Never broken down, never let us down in bad weather(we live in N Ohio). Welcome to the Subie Family! Now, for the sake of Subaru tradition, you must bestow a fitting name upon your new ride! Hey Jay, congrats on the new car. One of the traditions to do is to put spare change all on the floors of it for good luck. May this car be good & protect you. My grandfather also wisely said to me, if you change the oil every 3000 miles…..the car will last you a lifetime.

I'm a Car Dude...Always a fan of the VW Golf because its a Hatchback!...I would never own a VW due to always having to deal w/ Mechanical stuff etc...Hahaha! Congrats on the Subaru!....Hopefully these newer Subarus arent as bad as the older Subarus!

A new vehicle is only as dependable as the maintenance that's done on time by the owner. Obviously your VW was purchased as a used one. It may have been abused by it's previous owner. Good luck with your Subaru! BTW, I own a 2019 VW Arteon which is built in Germany. Wonderful car!

Around 10 years ago, I totaled my 2007 Ford Focus. My insurance covered a rental until I could get another car and it was a Subaru Crosstrek. I love those! Great choice my friend!

Jay, way back, when our kids were young, we had an old 1999 Forester. I'm convinced it saved our kids' lives during an accident. That low Boxer engine provides a lower center of gravity and they've got added steel supports in the rear doors most manufacturers do not provide. if you ask me, good choice.
Nice car, Jay! I got my first brand new car just over a year ago. It took me a while to figure out all the features in it too. I do use lane assist now. I didn't like it to begin with, but I had to learn how best to use it. It's a pleasure to drive as I am sure your Crosstrek is. Much ahead!
Great decision my friend. I owned one and it was very dependable. Hard to beat what you bought. I’m seeing being a RU-vidr I use my car a lot. Hey Tampa Jay....Just a Suggestion!...Since this is a NEW new car...Look into getting PPF ( Paint Protection Film) on the Frontend of car... Also get the Crosstrek Ceramic Coated!!
Subarus are fantastic I had 2005 I bought in 2014 and had it for 7 years when I sold it it had 270 miles on it and I really just did regular Maintence. Best of luck with it!

Great choice of car! We currently have a 2007 Toyota Rav4 that is holding up well. But, in the 1980's I had a wonderful little Subaru Justy. It was so tiny and a stick shift, but I loved it. It was a hatchback, and it was amazing how much I could fit into it. I drove it from Florida when we moved to Virginia and then back to Florida 4 years later. I only traded it in when I needed a larger vehicle to use for Civil Air Patrol activities in 1994. Enjoy your car--looks so futuristic!

Congrats on the new vehicle! It's always fun to buy a brand new car! I'm 68 and my last 2 cars were my first new cars in my life. The first one was when I was 50 years old! I love my Honda! Had 2 Tahoe's previously. Gas mileage on my Honda is awesome. Others were gas hogs! Love your new ride!

I had a New VW Beetle (1999)….every 10k miles, I would get an oil change and have to buy a new hubcap…they always fell off the wheels, the driver side and passenger windows would fall inside the doors (plastic part melted ), it over- heated, new battery every year, spent all my vacation days at the auto repair….and, the coffee holder was in the back ….i relate to your story!!
Great choice! I have a 2014 Subaru Forrester and love it. It is used as I got it in 2019. I live in Denver so driving through snow covered roads like driving through butter.

Jay, I am a GMC truck guy myself but I inherited an 03 Subaru Outback with a 135K miles on it. Air blows ice cold, runs good and beats the hell out of my GMC on fuel cost. I was spending about $600 a month just on fuel for the truck. I spend less than a 100 a month on fuel when I drive the outback. Congrats on the purchase and can't wait to see what new adventures 2024 brings.
Congratulations y’all beautiful cross trek !! We also just got a new car we went with another Honda accord hybrid as my 2021 accord hybrid got totaled by a deer that ran out in front of us on the highway going 70 mph. We do a lot of driving also and already had almost 80,000 trouble free miles on the old one. They will get around 45-52 miles per gallon which is awesome considering how much gas is.
You will be a lot happier in a Subaru. I owed a Subaru and I loved it, never had any issues. my cousin had a VW once and she had nothing but issues, that is one car I will never own.
