Congratulations to @Emeralds_Gaming_YAY who is the winner of the Gameboy giveaway!! The console, stand and a copy of Super Mario Land is on its way!! Again, congratulations and stay tuned for more giveaways in the future!!
I always enjoy these kind of videos!! Old consoles deserve some love and care, they hold such nostalgic value to anyone who enjoyed it back in the day. Amazing video man, keep it up!
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words! You should absolutely do it! You can find Gameboys on eBay that have nothing wrong with them other than lines on the screen (like I did) and use videos from channels like The Retro Future to fix it!
looking forward to seeing community channels like discord and a quick rise, amazing content i would also love to see a follow up video to the ten dollar laptop, giving it the deserved storage and seeing how much can it be upgraded (teardown would be amazing)
Shoot, let's give it a try! Really enjoyed watching the repair, superb job! I've been watching a TON of old console repairs recently, so I'm really happy YT recommended this!!
I genuinely love old consoles like this. As someone who’s always been a huge fan of old consoles, it’s always amazing to see old tech work here in 2024
@@TheTechspert Same here. I was born in 1997 so my generation got into the PlayStation and OG Xbox and I’m happy to own consoles like that which still work and it’s always a blast to plug them in and play when I’m feeling nostalgic
Very nice job on the GameBoy, i myself use to fix them all the time, the one i still have i have rigged up a USB-c and rechargeable battery pack. love the little things.
Yeah! I love these, I haven’t had the opportunity to play on original hardware yet, but I love those handhelds emulators. Would love to see a review from you on those as well!
@@rodrigomantoan That's actually a great video idea! I need your opinion... do you think it would be a fun concept to go on cheaper websites like Aliexpress and Temu and buy a bunch of those cheap handheld emulation consoles, and then review them and see what they can really handle? There are some good ones for like $20-$30... I would enjoy doing that but do you think people would enjoy watching it?
@@TheTechspertyeah, definitely! (I may be a suspect, since I’m also a fan of these haha). There are lots of people in the retro community, and also in the retro emulation one (I can recommend some channels if you want). And not only the cheap ones (although they’re great for first generations), but there are some great ones that can emulate up to PS2/GameCube from Ayn, Retroid, Anbernic, Ayaneo (some can even emulate Switch, but that’s not retro haha). If you want a not so cheap, but nice ones, take a look at these: Anbernic RG35xx SP (GBA SP form factor, run up to PS1/N64), and the Ayn Odin 2 Mini (like a Vita, but runs PS2 at 2-4x resolution)
Kinda wish there was a headphone warning for the "Out with the old, and in with the new" clip. I was researching GBC parts in the background and the explosion made me jump a little. 🤣
Just watched your other video and it's inspired me to do the same with an old laptop! Thought I'd enter the giveaway while I'm at it too :) Great content man!
Subscriber 593 here! Its my birthday and I'm hoping to win so I can give it to my daughter. Regardless, this video's quality is way too good for someone with fewer than 50K, let alone 593 subs. Great job on the video and the repair, my dude!
Thank you for the video. Is it possible to have a link for the shell ? There are many on eBay but there are several manufacturers and differences in quality. The one used in your video seems perfectly reproduced
I appreciate it buddy. I'm a college student and my studio is at home so it takes a long time to get a video out... plus I do everything by myself. I should have another video out within a week:)
Congratulations, you WON with this comment!! If you want the Gameboy, all you have to do is reply to this comment with an email address that works for you. I will email you from "thetechspertchannel@gmail.com" DO NOT respond to any address request from any other email. That's it! No strings attached... as long as you have it shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states... the Gameboy is yours for FREE!! Again, congratulations and I look forward to hearing from you!
