Just discovered this channel and couldn't get over how amazing the $600 boat turned out so I started watching what else there was. I'm going to say that was about 3 hours ago but I'm not mad about it.......... I only wish I had this guys talent. Great videos brother thanks for sharing
Enjoy your videos and like your basic approach to mower repair. Buy broke cheap and replace busted items cheap for like new mower for low bucks. Great approach; however you might want to look at your technique to save yourself some otherwise inevitable headaches and back aches. Get yourself a floor crane, the kind that the legs fold up on so you can park it in the corner or even outside under a tarp until their needed. You only get one back and it can't be replaced. Watching you pick up the motors and wrestle them into place makes me wince in pain knowing what I know about how easy it is to hurt yourself and how hard it is to maybe be able to recover from a back injury. Be good to yourself and you will be glad you did when your old and can still work in the shop. Likewise with the assembly/disassembly process, gentle and a light touch with stuck bolts and components. A little heat can go a long way when needed. Bad enough to remove electrical components which you believe are needing to be replaced but then to use your electric impact to tighten down the contacts on the new solenoid is just asking for trouble. I've watched many "Mechanics" at their work as well as electricians - all certified and many "Red Seal" technicians and as a regular working Joe but grew up with a wrench in my hand, so just to say nobody seems to think they will over torque these items with an air tool or electrical appliance where your own muscle with a delicate touch is all that's needed to make sure that doesn't happen. Keep the videos coming. Love what you do and make it look easy for the rest of us mere mortals. Thanks Lee
Thank you, Sir! I enjoyed your video, and especially liked what you said about diesel oil in air cooled engines. I didn't feel good putting 5W30 or 10W 30 in my push mower. It looks like you were blessed with a great opportunity in the Hustler, and are doing a great job bringing it up to speed.
Good choice on the oil. I live in Texas where we usually get 3 days of winter and Rotella 15-40 is what I use year round in my Hustler. I just found your channel and I'm enjoying your projects. Thanks for posting
👍👍👍👍👍🤜🤛 I used to use diesel oil in my car, even though it wasn’t a diesel engine. I ran it only in the summertime and in the fall I used to change it back to regular oil because the diesel oil would protect the engine better.
I came across your videos very randomly via the RU-vid algorithm, I’m assuming. I love watching anything that gets fixed or put back together. Just a BIT of constructive criticism, I too wanted to know what happened with the Scag on the previous video. If you are going to post another project, just let your viewers know you’re still planning on continuing the previous build at the beginning of the next project. That way we know. Other than that, you have yourself a new subscriber. Looking forward to more videos.
Good find I had same start problem on donated mower starter cable read good voltage and Olms but had a break that someone had taped over would not even click solenoid replaced cable good to go.
Wow! That seller sure has a lot of money to be able to afford to sell that one cheap and just replace it! How much did you pay? Such obvious and easy fixes! You must lead a charmed life! 🔧😉👍
14:35 I don't know how a person could do that. Short of the washer falling off and getting folded over the last time the plug was removed. At that point I'd toss the washer and run it if I had to. 16:09 That is an NPT fitting. Kohler does not use NTP drain plugs. I don't think anybody does anymore. You want an o-ring boss/flange face fitting. You are flirting with danger running NTP on a parallel thread. NTP seals by thread deformation. To get the deformation requires a lot of torque. If the fittings are not designed for it... something cracks... or something vibrates loose... and you are deforming threads that should be left alone. 19:14 I've run diesel oil in all engines my entire life. I only stock 5w-40. I'd run it in that hydraulic system without a concern.
What you should do where you put that drain hose just get a piece of old garden hose and wrap up great where it hits the metal then zip tie it on protection
