The Russian nesting dolls are known as Matryoshka dolls which literally means little matron or little Mother. My late Mum had one and her great grandchildren loved it. Mum told them the one in the centre was called baby Mavis. They had so much fun with baby Mavis. The doll now sits on my Granddaughters dressing table as she chose it as a reminder of her Great Nan. She is nearly 12 now.
I belong to a Friend's of the Library group and books that we aren't able to sell used to go to Goodwill. Through a little research I found that assited living facilities are happy to get them because many of their clients enjoy reading, but aren't able to get to the library, so I've been taking our books there to donate. When they are done the facility then donates them. Just a thought for you. Keep up the good work

When you find the pieces of something made of wood that normally would be worth something; you should send it to your favorite wood worker on you tube to maybe restore or make a resin piece out of it to make it worth possibly even more than it was if you had found it whole....I love to see You Tube collaborations!

The picture with the little girl in the stroller type thing is actually in what we used to call a “kiddy kart”. I remember being in one when I was about 4. I had a broken leg and was staying with relatives when my cousins who were watching me, parked me next to a fence and left me there. Not sure how long. Anyway that’s what we called it

Russian nesting dolls, I just bought my sister a set for Christmas that were hand painted with scenes of Swan Lake. They are very collectable to the right person, those are really little, interesting.
I've been watching you & George for a while now. If this is the Last Will for that person you could give them the photos of the relatives so they have a piece of their history. Also, I would give them the diaries that you found as well. If it was part of my history I would love to go back in time reading them and get to know my past family. Just sayin'.

We dont get paid anymore for scrap. We pay at stores eco fees when we buy stuff for disposal yet stores dont take back to dispose. Only rona does. RIP off. Then we pay dump to take it. Up til a few years ago we made money scrapping .

On the back of the Swedish plate you saw in the first tote it said Sverige on the back. This is the Swedish word for Sweden and you say it like Svair- ridge. Hope this helps
