Beautiful car. Always been a dream of mine too, I live in the UK but would always buy from a dmc dealer in the US and import. Sadly they are getting unattainable here as prices have just rocketed.

Great find! I bought one last year. Unfortunately mine needs a full frame off restoration. Right now I have it all taken apart.

Build quality is way better than a Delorean Sun Valley Ford ( in Concord,CA.) had in their showroom when they sold them from get go. The atrocious build quality of Ford Fairmonts, Escorts, F150, etc. also in showroom had slightly better build quality than that Delorean.

Congratulations! Being born in the mid 70s I can remember seeing this car on the news as it was a big deal it was being made in Ireland (I’m from the U.K.). It was quite a big thing for an American company to manufacture a car there. I was instantly transfixed by how it looked like something from the future. BTTF then sent its coolness stratospheric. It’s also my dream to own one some day. Sadly in the U.K. the prices are approaching $70k which is beyond my budget. I hope you have many years of happiness and well done again.

I just bought mine and gonna pick it up tomorrow. Pretty nervous right now :D Mine is one of the last ones, registered in june 1983, grey interior with Automatic transmission and about 15k mikles on it.. First i searched for a shifter, but i got a great offer on the auto and been driven both..there's not much of a difference in performance (or at least i couldn't recognized it)..as deloreans can't compete with any modern car out there anyway :). Since you got yours now for about six months...what are your experiences so far? Your car looks really clean!

Despite this being a dream car for you, do you find the steering in the Delorean to be too heavy and or cumbersome?

The DeLorean isnt' a 45 year old car! its 41 they made them from 1981 to feb 83 the tollbooth window had noting to do with the doors being a gullwing car. the Bricklin SV 1 looks just like the dmc12 and it doesn't have a short window like that. since your a new owner ill let you in on a secret that nobody talks about. the DeLorean is the # 1 most hated car in the car community because of its history and engine power so if you take it to a car show your going to get made fun of and deal with asshole car guys telling you your car sucks and the most common is WHERE THE FLUX CAPACITOR AT? for the most part the general pubic likes it & BTTF fans love it i just hope you keep it as a DeLorean since 80% of them have already been made into BTTF prop cars what most people in the car community fail to realize is the vale of it 10 years ago it wasnt a bad price now its nearly 100K and when it turns 50 it will be over a million please take good care of it because the delorean is the most iconic misunderstood car there is.
