My 944 has “central locking” of indeterminate usability and sure as shooting did this to me on the first day I owned it. Picture a six four full grown man rolling like Jonah after going in through the back hatch trying to wriggle and get to a front door pull or lock bar and you know why I pulled that fuse ASAP.

I used to own a 1995 Eagle Talon ESi. I rebuilt the motor, transmission, upgraded exhaust, and upgraded everything else on the car. It was sweet. I had to let it go, but I want to get another Talon or Eclipse and build it up again. Great video Tavarish!

Looks like a fun project to sink into. The engine shown in the movie is the Chrysler 420a Dohc that was also used in the neon and it was a front wheel drive just go find a cheap one with the cheap engine and your set.

First time watching your channel. I've been a gearhead since the '60s. American muscle and Japanese tin. You might want to look into JDM. In 2019 I bought a 5.0 engine from a Lexus GFS V8 with the 6-speed transmission with complete wiring harness for $2,200 from JDM. Located a adapter for the trail gear 4.70 twin stick transfer case. Then stuffed it in my 85 Toyota 4x4 straight axle. A friend of mine airbrushed a little sleeping Mojave mule on the tailgate.

I been thinking about doing one for a while now. Got a 96 GSX for 1500 been completely unmolested but been in a barn for like forever and a day. Got some axis se7ens 18x7.5 on a 240 I got as a project. But man this Makin me really reconsider taking on the job now.

This is honestly in better condition than 90% of these eclipses of this era. Yes this car isn't accurate to the movie but I feel that you over exaggerated the condition of the car. The paint and bodywork (for being a fiberglass kit) is really good I feel. This is definitely salvageable, I redid one in worse condition on my channel, on a budget.

Coilovers is the entire kit including the shocks, springs and purch.but if it's just the purch and springs then it's called sleeve overs because it slides over the shock as is.

When you spend so much time and money trying to recreate a screen accurate car, then go to see the actual screen accurate car, and find out it is also not screen accurate? Reminds me of the nightmare people have with The General Lee and K.I.T.T from Knight Rider. Trying to restore these iconic cars with accuracy, when there have been quite a few made over time, is virtually impossible.

The actual movie car is not an actual representation of the car that they are “showing” people get lost in these cars. I personally am a fan of these cars, I just think that people are taking this wayyyyyyyyyy to far! The perfect replica does not exist!

Original car was not a turbo, it was running the mitsubishi 420A NA 2.0 Liter DOHC, Similar to the the 2.0 DOHC used in the Dodge Neon, many neon owners actually used the 420A to turbo their cars because of the location of the intake and exhaust manifolds. Stock Neon Motors had the intake up front exhaust out back and the 420A reversed that. Both engines shared a lot of parts like cams, sensors, etc.

Knew someone that had this model and we called it the Zombie Eclipse because it was running on 3 cylinders, leaked all fluids, the body work was trashed (side skirts, bumpers and wing were mangled) but it still ran and picked up speed well enough. He even drove it on freeways which was sketchy at best.

Those are $50 eBay "coil overs" real coil overs are threaded struts with proper rate coil springs for the car and cost $1000-$5000 for a set depending on options.

Ok, something I have to bring up is that you keep saying things about the car (for example the roof scoop) and talk about Universal, but they had nothing to do with the car. The car was rented from an owner that had already done the build. Check out Craig Lieberman's channel. He was the car wrangler for the first 2 Fast and Furious movies and he goes into great lengths about the finding of the cars. Also if you knew anything about tuners, you would know that many had roof scoops because the AC units were removed to either make more room under the hood, or often for weight reduction. So the scoop would have been very useful for cooling the interior with the AC gone.

I had a first gen Neon, swapped with a built 2.4 SRT engine, had a wings west polycarbonate kit on it, the thing was indestructable, Id see so many others in town at this time, buy cheap fiberglass kids, saying "its so much cheaper than a good kit like yours!" Well, i hit curbs, plowed snow, it was always fine. They would be buying new bumpers after every winter, they saved no money. PS before anyone gives me shit, and its almost deserved, I was young, Fast And The Furious had just came out, cars like that were huge chick magnets, not to mention I could beat most cars light to light and yes, I used to wax Vettes

The body kit on the movie car was called blitz at least to my knowledge. At least when I owned it in 04 that's the kit I bought and it was not cheap, but I had a cheap fiberglass option but went with urethane.

Fast & Furious was filmed in 2000 The "Robocar" body kit was actually a bootleg knockoff version of the superior Blitz Body Kit The reason it was Robocar is because the owner of the car that auditioned for the car to be in the movie; said he couldnt afford the actual Blitz body kit since he was going to college at the time and his parents were helping him out so he got the cheaper knock off instead. Given the fact that F&F movie needed like 6 to 8 versions of this car for stunt use, certain scenes, promotion shots etc, they either got the Robocar one or dished out for the actual Blitz So...back then you could actually just buy a Blitz body kit. They were not hard to find then even up to and through to 2005. I know because I modified my black Eclipse with one in 2002.

The original movie car was a non-turbo car converted to turbo. The non-turbo engine has the trans and accessory drives on the opposite sides of the turbo version. Even tho they are both 4g63 2.0L 16v dohc.

Hey, you want my VW Touran to recreate the one from The Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift (yeah, I know, without the original cast, so no Paul Walker or Vin Diesel)? Ok, it's blue, but you should be able to find the garish green paint somewhere, and Hulk fists should be not too hard to do. And it's on 15" stock VWs instead of the 17"(?) ones from the movie. And it's a Diesel. But it's a project!

1995 and 1996 had the reverse lights half moon shaped next to the license tag but the 97-99 had circles on the outsides of the bumper when buy a body kit for a 95-96 they come with the circle light cases for the outsides of the bumper to change the 95-96 to the newer style. So that car bumper is designed to use the new 97-99 circle cases but in the 95-96 location next to the license tag. I owned about 11 of these cars over the year's. My favorite was my 95 Talon had the GST eclipse setup turbo 2wd not the AWD also got it dirt cheap with a modified 1994 eclipse / talon carbon fiber hood on it smh

I worked for the man that built the F&F cars. I can almost guarantee the original car did not have authentic parts either. Stunt cars are made cheap to keep costs down. Most stuff was knock off stuff then modified to look like the real deal. So I don’t think it was the museums fault. Car was most likely like that originally.

I put hydraulics on a 1995 Eclipse back in the day for my best friend. It had 15 inch deep dish Daytons, 2x15 subwoofer wall and 10 switches. After putting 100,000 miles on it he sold it for $20,000

Dang brings back memories my uncle's car was in the first fast and furious also an eclipse wide body with Corvette back light modification. 12 second car too it pops out the alley way near the first race the only Autobot car in the movie just look for the Autobot sticker symbol. We use to be in a car crew in la called team autobots sadly most of them sold cars and moved on or passed away 😭

There was one like this in Vegas a couple years ago that got stolen(or just broken into, don't remember) and had been completely mangled. They even went as far as to cut the timing belt and any and all hoses. Not sure what happened to it but I'm wondering if this is the one.

What’s crazy is with todays technology you could easily scan pictures of the car from the movie from multiple angles and then 3D print something to cast a mold for the body kit. Then just lay up your glass and resin with a vacuum process and bam, you’ve got yourself a replica body kit, and the plans to sell online.

For 500$ it is obvious that is a budget version created for a passionated and may be most of the work is entirely maded by the enthusiastic owners .. I myself when I Lived In Latinoamérica due to the impossibilities to find parts and Less possibilities of import some of it .. I create several tuning or exhibition cars replicas mostly from scratch doing fiber glass job , painting , even stickers designs by myself because was the only way for do it . I even factory spoilers from aluminum foundry and also I did make my owns lambo doors in that time .. At end literally I was able to make any car replica on my own only dreaming with original parts because the circumstances there make that just imposible or just more expensive than go in to an airplane to USA and buy the real deal ..,..

instead of nailing the guy for all the flaws in the car lets take a second and really think and look, for a 30+ year old coupe this car is in amazing condition.........you should appreciate most of it is still there plus extras people pay ten times as much for half of what you came up with.....appreciate it because these cars are being molested and disappearing as fast as .......you know who ....? too soon? !!!!!!!!!!!!tooo soooooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 4g63 engine with a 5 speed that runs n drives its currently n/a but the block numbers show its a 4g63 I MAY be willing to sell but I also thought maybe I wanna Rip it out n rebuild the engine and make it a turbo engine the way it should be
