Good score John! I always liked the Jag-Stang - mainly because Kurt designed it, but also because they're pretty light, weight-wise. I am around the same height and stature as Kurt, and playing a Strat all night (they're quite heavy, like a Les Paul) can get tiring, particularly if you're doing a few gigs a week. I already have back problems from lugging my 1971 Fender Twin Reverb up flights of stairs at gigs for 20 years! I also like the Jag-Stang's splittable humbucker pick-up in the bridge position, because you can get a bunch of different sounds out them. So yeah, $600 is a good deal, IMO. Cheers!

If you don't use the tremolo you might look into an easy mod that's totally reversible that really stabilizes the tuning, which is done by flipping the tailpiece around and bolting it to bridge plate. Earnie Bailey did this to most of Kurt's mustangs and jagstangs.

You win!!! I would love to try a Jag-stang. My only electric guitar at the moment is an old vintage mustang, which was my dad’s when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. I was an extremely silly child and thought the mustang was some type of typical guitar when I saw Kurt playing the same instrument on t.v. as the one in my house. lol

Dang! Great find! The only guitar that I've ever bought new was one of these back in '97. Regret selling it over the years. Congrats man!!!

I think he played a blue one of these (a prototype) on that last tour in Europe, for sure. Interesting guitar.

Nice guitar! TBH, really curious how Estranged in tragedy would sound on it. Love the song and vibe it has!

Awesome! I remember the Jag-Stang. Amazing price you got it for. I remember I paid $700 for my 79 Strat back in the late 90s. Just wanted to mention that as a price reference. You got a great deal imo. Plus I'm sure this guitar has sentimentality value for you as well. That's priceless.
