After months of back and forth with test rides and analysis, I decided to buy the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 over the CFMOTO 450MT. This wasn't a purely logical decision, as you'll see in the video. Himalayans have been part of all my greatest motorcycle adventures, and I'm looking forward to continuing that tradition with this awesome new version of it.

Great journey! Excited to see more on this. But I have a few questions. First is, if you're coming from the previous model of Hima, is it worth upgrading to the 450? Second, budget-wise, since the Hima 411 will probably drop in price with the release of the newer version, is it okay to go with the older model? As being an owner of both, I think you're the best person to ask.

It really depends: the 411 is a much more accessible, less intimidating bike. It’s lower and carries its weight low. The tradeoff being it’s slow and doesn’t like being ridden hard. With the 450 it feels more like a “proper” ADV and is bigger/heavier to push around but it rewards riding skill more, not to mention the power. So it really depends on your intended purpose. If speed is not an issue and if you want more familiarity with issues and more available parts, the 411 is a good choice. It is just more limited as you grow in skill.

Smart decision. Cf moto/ kove, using ktm technology, low quality manufacturing, to much technology. I know that cf moto 650 was horrible, reliability wise.

I feel like, with your skill level and that you had the RE 650 previously in your stables, that you should have waited for the KTM Adv 390 as well as the "RE Himmy 650" which I feel would have been a better bang for buck plus for sure would have had all the bells and whistles that this 450 didn't have.

I see your point! And thanks for believing in my skill level(?), haha. But how long would I have had to wait for those bikes instead of riding? I don't think I'll see them in 2024 in this country. As for bells and whistles, I think if they were a primary consideration I would have bought the 450MT or a Transalp. That said, if the Himmy 650 manages to weigh 210kg or less that would be an absolutely cracking engine to take off-road, not to mention for touring. I know a lot of people and Himalayas-based rental businesses are waiting for that.

Just found your channel. Love the recent content. I too want the 450 Himalayan but I have to sell one bike. Should I sell my RE INT650, Yamaha WR250R, or Honda Trail 125? It seems like the Himalayan could replace the 650 as a road touring bike though I love the 650 so. My wife likes the Trail 125 and the WR can do some tougher off road than the 450. Thoughts on my dilemma?

Great question. I replaced my INT 650 with this bike but I also got a Yamaha MT-07. Honestly, the power of the Himmy 450 is very close to the Interceptor while having superior comfort and very decent road manners and of course much higher off-road capability. Mainly you would miss the lower seat height (if you’re not tall) and that bigger parallel twin rumble.

@@BIKEINDI weight is the same on paper but it’s a bit higher on the taller 450. So for example, even just lowering it from the center is noticeably more intimidating. But you do get used to it! I do fear that it will be a bit harder to pick up on inclined terrain, I’ll have to test it soon.

Yes bro! Good idea. Sa totoo lang maganda talaga yung NX500, best tourer in the segment. Pero kung medyo hardcore na off-road na usapan hindi ko siya pipiliin. It might boil down talaga to which bike attracts you more.
