We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite

I had one of these bro, don’t bud a deck just cut a good board if you want to Mount the foot control and just sit it in the bottom of the boat,, I did a anchor system on mine as well, but you shouldn’t flip it, and you can get it in super shallow areas too we use to put mine in small creeks and float to the bigger places it ran into

Aye Larry I had one at one point, you can leave the trolling motor up front just turn the head(speed control) around, its one screw, then the motor will be facing forward while you steer.

Have the same boat and have the upgraded mesh seats. Similar to your kayak seat. Only thing about turning the head on front trolling motor is you have to drop it in water farther so blades don't hit the pontoons when turning. Have a trolling motor on both front and back when two people are in it.

Congrats on the new boat! You see those on LAKE ALLATOONA in Georgia. Very stable, 👍 yes. Considering that ALLATOONA is the 2nd largest man-made lake in Georgia and has wicked currents it's good for handling all that. That said, it only had one person on today. With two people watch your water line and the front in waves and chops .. not raised high and a square front-end doesn't do as well as your Salty in that stuff. I sure will enjoy seeing your videos on your boat too!

There's a screw on the head of the trolling motor that you can remove and turn the shaft 180 degrees so you can use forward instead of reverse. Not sure what you paid but looks decent to me.

Many years ago, I had a Bass Hunter boat that was just like that. I loved it and kept it until it got compromised because of sun damage. I didn't have a place like a garage to keep it out of the sun and weather. I miss it!

I have one of these and it is about ten years old. It’s been left outside the whole time rain snow and everything even had a flood take it off the back of a pond dam a mile alway through the woods and in a river and got hung in a tree that was about 8 feet up after the water returned to normal. Still floats and functions fine, I used it yesterday. Through all the sun there isn’t any cracks or anything the only thing is the handle got torn off in the tree and halfway separated the top and bottom of the hill but with a few minutes of pulling and restappling it was back in operation and has no leaks.

Do a RU-vid search for converting a bow mount trolling motor to a transom mount trolling motor. Quite simple. You just take the head loose and rotate it 180 degrees.

They are decent boats until you get water inside the pontoons. Definitely recommend getting at least a 12ft aluminum boat.
