Thank you for your advice on buying a turn key home in the Villages. We had considered buying one, but I would agree that they are probably more of a headache than a help. My husband and I have been looking for a home in the northern part of the Villages for the same reason. The bond on top of the cost of the house is just too much. Plus I think the older homes have a bit more character to them. You have done a beautiful job on your place. We've never been afraid of working on an older home, but now that we are older, it may take us awhile, but I believe we will be happy near the Spanish Springs. Maybe we'll see you around!!

Do you (or do any viewers) know if you can buy a Villages property if you are under 55, but rent it out?

Actually it’s not a requirement to be 55, you can be 19 and up to live here, and in some exceptions even younger. I believe you can buy and rent it out if you’re under 55, but there might be some stipulations, you’ll have to look into depending when and where you buy, I would ask a realtor like Robyn Cavallaro on that because I don’t know what I’m talking about half the time :)

My friend has lived in The Villages since 2012. She is how I found out about The Villages. And yes, I have heard the unfounded rumors about The Villages. TV is on my short list of places to move to after I retire in hopefully 22 months from now. Beautiful area, friendly people, no snow & ice. I have another visit to The Villages scheduled for May.
