Most people buy their Teslas brand new, but I was impatient and wanted my Model X now. So I got a 2020 Model X Performance.

WE bought a used mY from Tesla last April and drove 8 hours to CO Springs to pick it up. The experience was seamless and painless. We sold our m3 (bought it new from Tesla in 2019) to Carvana for a good price too. I agree with you...NEVER would I go back to a dealership to buy any car again. It's November and I am already looking at exchanging the mY for a used mX...which I should have done in the first place. So now I am scouring the Tesla used vehicle website daily for a good buy in the configuration I want.

Just went to Tesla today. And exact same thing happened to my used 2020 model 3 performance. Steering vibration, scheduled service on the same day after I got my car. Save my couple thousands. Thank you!!!!!

The price has gone down so much since 11 months ago, before i was thinking about buying a basic model 3 for $50000 used, now you can get a 2020 model 3 long range for under 39000

I also purchased a used model x (Oct 2022). Right blinker didn't work off the lot. Driving on the freeway and other roads feels unsafe without a blinker. I figured out the issue is the front right light assembly was completely broken. The entire fog light and blinker assembly had no lights. The drivers windows makes clicking sounds while going up, and got stuck once. There are more issues also. That "145 point inspection" is very suspicious.

I had a similar experience with a used model s. Now that all my nitpicking is done, I'm very sarisfied with the car. The southwest florida mobile tech (Justin) was awesome and really instilled my confidence in not just the car but the company as a whole. Also, I had a 2nd gen Volt as well, and while nowhere near the type of car the model s is, it was a great car for the 4 years I drove it here in the Sarasota area - dont let any of those fools give you a bad time about it! 😂 Keep up the great videos!

What's confusing is the 24 hour 100 mile time period within which they would fix anything.- don't they also give you a 10K warranty on top ...wouldn't that cover it too?

I bought my car (not a Tesla) in May, but it had been delivered to the dealership in February. They ended up replacing all four tires before I took delivery and I panicked, but they said it was because the factory tires were known to sometimes get a flat spot if it sat too long.

Were you able to check the battery degradation before purchasing? Not knowing that info would be a big no-go for me.

Not really. You could call Tesla maybe and ask them but wouldn’t you need to charge to 100 percent for that?

The problem described would likely not be covered by the 1 yr 10k warranty. If you read yhe warranty terms it basically excludes everything other than a catastrophic motor, or battery failure. So its very important to catch tire/wheel issues within 24 hours or before driving it off the lot. What I would like to know is whether Tesla allows a test drive prior to signing.

With the 24hrs and 100 miles to address issues, how do you inform Tesla of the issues? Email, Call, the app,?

Jeremy this was my dilema. Buy unseen from tesla w 10k mile extra warranty but lose deposit $500-$2500 if car declined at delivery or buy from local dealer w no insurance but fully inspected. At the end but a 2017 model X 100P blue w black interior/22” wheels/65k miles. Car looks like new inside and out but need to have the mcu upgraded and yellow tint on the infotainment screen fixed. Can you check for me the condition of the weather strip when the falcon wing door is open and you see edge my door roof glass. Is it in good condition or brittle/gooey/breaking apart?

May not fully care about all the details, but we DO CARE about if you LOVE it!!! Do you love it!! Overall how does it compare to the 3 and S, did you test drive an S. I so want a 2020 S, but too expensive!!! Congrats!!

I didn't think many people would care about what I thought since it's been out since 2016 and many people have reviewed it. But maybe I can add some unique perspective going from a Model 3 to a pre-refreshed Model X. I'll work on a video comparing the two. But basically I'm totally in love with the Model X exterior, speed, performance, automatic doors, etc. Its just the interior itself is a little dated. only 1 wireless charger. have to use USB port in the open for sentry mode, vertical screen is lower quality than the model 3, etc. It's not bad, but some parts of the interior do seem like a step back compared to the Model 3. but that is where the refresh/ plaid comes in handy to fix all those issues.

@@jeremyjudkins I think maybe die hards would complain about the old style, but normals, like me, lol, would be so happy with it. Have a BMW X3 now, 2014, and saving up for some EV, so many new ones coming out, will get one in a few years.. so any opinions at least for me would help! :) Thanks and enjoy!!! I never paid attention to it because I wasn't interested in SUVs but I fell in love. The automatic doors are just next level. Plus its super quick. Definitely sets a new standard for what an SUV is capable of.

thanks you so much- I am in exactly same situation- i am about to buy used model X 2021 for $140K(exact same amount as the 2022 brand new model). Can I ask, did you have to show your driver license and insurance at the time of picking up the car? I am wondering if my sister can pick it up on my behalf.

You have to pick it up. It even says if someone else on the trade in or the registration of the Tesla you have to be there. I had to sign a few things when I went so she could not sign on your behalf unless she was your power of attorney or something
