well Richard, read the bible! It has had more influence on the world than any other book! Often God leads his people to a place where they can find him. Didn't God bring Israel in the desert? Did not God bring Israel to assyria? God uses this to bring people closer to Him! Not saying that God is the author of evil an disease, thats the devil. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ATArxAnM-1A.html God creates opportunities through corona!
Happy Mother's Day to Cedar. We are enjoying your content immensely. My husband , as an ex US Airforce helicopter mechanic and homesteader, likes to see your construction, ranching machinery and shop work. While myself, born and raised on a ranch in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, have aspirations of creating a simple, yet effective, kitchen garden. I can also recall a time in my formative years, where we literally grew all that we consumed. Or, bartered and traded skills, resources and produce with distant, yet equally proud neighbors, for whatever they had that we might be lacking in or hankering after. They were simpler times, but they also embodied a strong sense of community and connectedness to both land and people. We've every bit of faith that your much longed for tractor will show up at the right time for you. Warmest Wishes from Northern California.
Thankful, though I live in a small town I know my farmer and small meat processors are still open here as a result my freezer is full, waiting for winter to be over for my garden. My best friend has chickens so eggs are available too. Thank you for every person you enlighten to the truth.
I enjoy your videos each Sunday and been here from the start. The property is looking nicer now that spring has arrived. Wow the new tractor is so cool 1961, I'm 55 so that made me feel old. God Bless your beautiful family. Your videos are appreciated.
One of your best videos. Camera work, music, editing was great, but my favorite part was the subject matter. Fixing up old farm equipment while talking about food security and self sufficiency. We live in town, but have a small garden, a few chickens, and a friend that raises cattle. It works.
I just found your channel and had been binge watching for a week now. I like the way you edit and post, with fewer comments and very concise way of explanation and also love your life's "stories"--so much fun! You are, in my eyes, a family that is a great example for every (American) person throughout the history of our world: hard working, God loving, honest, resourceful, happy, able to work out solutions to obstacles that seem to occur regularly throughout our lives. LOVE YOU! Keep sharing!
I would note that most Dads want their children to amount to more than they themselves. I am no exception. Having said that it is my opinion that you sir have much to be proud of and your children are very fortunate to have you as their Dad. It is good for my heart to see a man cherish his children as you do. Respect to you Heath.
Thank you so much for the Happy Mother's Day wish! Please wish Cedar a wonderful Mother's Day as well! I loved the planter boxes (my husband is building me 2 as well). I too worry about our meat-we went to the store yesterday and it seemed empty when there usually an abundance & I worry where it's coming from. I would love to move but the prices of little farms around here is totally unaffordable for us. This County sucks-with so many rules! Thank you for sharing your time with us we enjoy everything that you do and how much love you put into everything that you do.
Definitely feel ya with where the food comes from, I hope when we all get through this that many more people decided to grow some food for themselves and possibly even grow to become small local farms, and as a country we are all united in the goal of not only bringing back the processing of our food but also the manufacturing of many other goods.
There is nothing wrong with your son amounting to what you are. You a good example of what a man should be like. I set my standard of of my dad and am still very proud of it. He is now 88,and l am 60.
I don't know what it is about that tractor but I love it. With you driving, I am reminded of the quintessential American farmer. I know it's not what you want but man that's a great looking tractor.
Your ranch is really coming along nicely. I was noticing the animals roaming the pasture while you were welding, very peaceful. It's an interesting thought, being uncomfortable about where your food comes from. I feel it's mostly due to an ever expanding society and the means required to maintain it, along with the accessibility of information in the past 20 years. Although I don't feel meat is a necessity, I understand the thoughts for an against. It's nice to see people like you who and your family who are interested in living a more simple life of self reliance; I believe you're integral to society just like myself working in a city.
Great idea on putting the limbs and small logs in the bottom of your grow beds. I did all of mine the same way. Modified hugelkulture. Keeps moisture in and provides nutrients as the wood breaks down. On my third season. Although you have plenty of water have you considered a couple or more rain catchment barrels off the roof gutters for the garden. Saving a little bit of your potable water. I'm in that process now just in case of an electrical issue. Used one on my chicken coop .

"I remember what a tomato is "supposed " to taste like " Truer words were never spoke. I remember cutting snap beans with my grandpa until both thumbs were too sore to continue.
My Dad grew up on a farm in Oregon during the Depression. He planted tomatoes anywhere we moved to. I now do the same thing, plus strawberries and blueberries. There's just no getting over the difference between a fresh, lush, soft, ripe strawberry you pick yourself and the crunchy strawberry that you get at the store.
Also you said building a long term green house what about making a large underground food storage cellar? You wouldn’t have to worry about heat or freezing, store food weapons ammo water supplies even get a large several hundred gallon fuel tank and store gas and diesel, rotate and consume the gas while it’s cheap. Tons of land to do whatever on! I’m definitely envious of you guys! Love the work put in! Very informative and inspirational
Great video . Glad to see you are all still doing well . We are definitely in a different world to what we were used to. Love the fact you buy something a bit bent . But get it and straighten it out . I'm the same love getting something and making it work . Stay safe .
A pleasure to watch your videos as always. I have had 4 kids go to college they all came back knowing what they already knew. None of them is using what they went to college for, never ask a a fish to climb a tree.
Give yourself more credit I think you turned out pretty good. Your kids are learning more from you and your wife then they will ever learn in school. And man did he have a growth spurt. Thanks for shareing the ranch it’s very inspiring.

I think this channel is meant for a small, closely knit community. I wouldnt get the same cozy vibes i get if I knew this was up for mass consumption. I think the family at Red Poppy Ranch agrees with that too that so long as this channel can provide for them, they're happy. I'm sure the larger the channel gets the more threatening it will be to their privacy aswell. Honestly, I wouldnt want this channel to be any other way than it is right now.
I fervently hope that your manufacturing in America wishes come true. It'll cost us $, but we're paying right now, painfully, for the decades of getting cheap goods elsewhere. Anyway, with regards to Rhett, go with your gut; it hasn't let you down. Happy Mothers' Day, Mrs. Cedar.
Terrace scrapers, working roads like you have are ok, as long as you don't hook the edge of the blade on a root or rock. It will bend and even break. They also lack the weight it takes to move much material. I have a good heavy box scraper with rippers. Works well on the roads I maintain. Your choice of a 50 horse 4x4 tractor will work great for you. I'm sure you though about a loader for it also!! Sure enjoy watching you and your family work on your ranch. We did about the same thing you guys are doing, only about 45 years ago. Never regretted a minute of all the work.
Oh wow! I was a little saddened when you made the comment that you wanted Rhet to amount to more than you did! Your a decent hard working man, a man with unlimited skills and on hands how to do, a man of loyalty, scruples and and a man of God and devoted to your family and Country! You can't be a better man than that! So if he does amount to your mini me, he will be a fine man! And with that being said, I totally understand what you meant, as a mother grandmother and great-grandmother, we want better for our babies for sure! But today in this world we live in today, we will fair well with being just the kind of person you are, because with those qualities and capabilities that is what is going to be needed in this world today and the changes upon us! May God continue to bless you and your family! I love and appreciate being able to watch along as your lives unfold and your share with us!
I agree, if Rhett turns out half the man you are, he will be great! Let him have his truck. My worst scholar is my best adult child. And he has learned so much more outside of school. Happy Mothers Day, Cedar!
Every parent wants better for their kids but it's also a fault in parenting nowadays where the pressure put on their kids to do better overwhelms them and adds to all the stresses of modern society. Either way I pray my kids do 100x better than my dumb ass! Won't be hard to do lol.
I thought when Rhet was standing on the wall and you were starting the generator that you had superimposed yourself up there... That boy is becoming a spitting image of his father. Keep up the good work!
A sunken GH with the floor 4 or 5 feet lower then the ground outside around it !! Low profile and some geothermal heat, not much but it will help. They NEVER should have shut down the meat processing plant's and packaging place's !! You know that there's something else going on with this mess. Happy Mother's Day Cedar. Stay safe and healthy. God bless
We had a 240 growing up and my dad sold it when my brother bought the farm. In the last few years my brother found a 340 to have. Its neat to see it on the farm. Appreciated seeing yours in the diesel version.
My dad used to let me practice driving in the holiday Inn parking lot my parents used to swap me at, ever since I was 4. He'd also let me drive in the woods when we went wheeling. After I was about 12 he let me take my brothers bronco across the road in the big oil yard lot. He also taught me how to drive his tractor and I wrote my name with the bucket in the dirt. Best times of my life. Im an excellent driver and I've had my license 10 years with no accidents.
Look forward to every video. I totally get what you’re saying about your son, but don’t cut yourself short. I don’t know you personally, but I can say with assuring from watching you interact with your children, your wife and what you’ve done with your e property from day one up to this point, you ha e amounted to very much success. You are the kind of man women need and want in their lives, but very few of us have. I have been single most of my life and most of my children’s lives, I look at the home stead you’re building , I long to be in the mountains in a place like yours, but I know I have no one to help me and I can’t do it all. So I have found a place that works for me right now, it’s bigger than my last, allowing me to grow and garden and preserve more, it allows me to live more of my dreams than I ever have before, and for this I am truly truly grateful. However, that being said, men like you are the most valuable, emotionally, spiritually, physically, mentally and financially because you want to have a family, and you live to take care of them and of yourself. It’s men and women like you and your wife that will one day save this great nation from WhT is happening now. God bless you and your family. I hope to one day meet your family, your sweet wife that works as your help mate and is such an amazing momma to your children.
Nice work on the blade that's how things are done, I agree manufacturing needs to return to our Shores and the prosperity of the middle class will return Thanks for the video Happy Mother's Day Cedar.✌
Thanks as always, for a great video. You echoed many of my concerns for food production and industry in the US. Every year, I have put in a garden but in January, was thinking about not having one this year because of how busy I already was with my business. I obviously reconsidered once the Corona virus hit but wished I was in an area where I could have chickens and livestock! Be safe and keep up the good work sir!
Please tell Cedar Happy Mother’s Day. I worry about the same stuff with our County. I am planning on buying a steer to butcher for the freezer because it is the most economical and I know that the beef is grass fed. We also have a small garden and I have a bit of food stored that have a long shelf life. I worry because so many people don’t have a clue about how to take care of themselves. My husband is a avid hunter and we both love to fish. These hobbies are very important for people to know how to do. Praying for your family. Thank you for sharing your videos with us
Loved seeing the new tractor. I enjoy all the work you do to make things fit together. And for what it's worth, the way to take the lid off the spray paint can is to squeeze the two ridged indentations (that's why they are there) - just squeeze them at the same time and the lid pops right off. Cedar, hope you are having a wonderful Mother's Day.
Thank you for the Mother's Day wish. Cedar, have a special day. I am excited to see the hoop house go up. What are you planting in your raised garden beds? Blessings. 🌷
I was proud to hear you mention the Namibian beef. We have very good quality beef, free range in the wide open space of beautiful Namibia. Be assured that it is of highest quality.
What a blessing to live in a world where we can trade with good hard working people from so many places! Political borders should not make us forget that everyone everywhere is an individual with rights, hopes, and lives to care for.
I was lucky to once visit Namibia. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth! Open spaces right up to the ocean. You are rightfully proud of your country.
I love watching Red Poppy Ranch. It is such an embodiment of the best of the USA. The hardworking, ingeneous, great father yet always mentioning his shortcomings. No arrogance. I would love to visit Red Poppy Ranch one day.
I am happy if you make a special place to put vehicles and work tools so that they are neat and not exposed to hot rain, thanks for the advice from Indonesia
I recognized the mountain before you made your way to Maddox. My grandma and my late grandad live just south there in Willard. Enjoy the channel. Track out if your needing anything. I've got fingers everywhere from pokey to St George.
There is a farmer in Nebraska that has video's on green houses that are half sunken in the ground . He has people from all over the world come to his farm to check out his technology. He is on RU-vid and if your thinking about year round growing check out his videos contact him .
Ive been watching you for the last few years and enjoy your videos. I will tell you of the story of my first truck that was taken away from me by my father due to bad grades. I was 16 at the time and was saving up money. I had all A's & B's except for one class that I had a low C almost a D. My dad went and bought a truck for me $500 at the time and I was gonna pay him back. The only thing was that he wanted me to bring that one grade up to at least a B. I procrastinated and didn't get the B in that class. The day after my report card my dad sold the truck. I thought he was kidding or was gonna give me some slack, but he didn't. He only asked for one thing and I didn't hold up to my end of the deal even though I had the money for the truck. I learned a very valuable lesson with that truck and I still keep it firmly in my mind to this day. Follow through on your agreed upon deals no matter how big or small they may be because things can go just as fast as they appeared. I was mad as hell but looking back on it now at 35yrs of age I didn't deserve that truck due to my own actions. I was driven to school by my younger sister and friends until I graduated High school because of it and I had no one to blame, but for myself. Tough life lesson at a young age will be better for the kids in the long run. Best of luck and know that your son will one day understand even though he doesnt at this time.
It's also amazing in the difference in how your own, home grown meat taste, as well. I'm with you 100% on raising your own food. We as a country have gotten away from reality on where our food comes from. Good luck to you guys on being self sufficient! Lord knows I'm trying!
Hi guys, just noticed poor cedar with the spray can. Next time tell her, you have to squeeze each side of the lid on the ridges as it's a safety cap and if you push these together and pinch of, the lid will open 😁😁 you guys stay safe and wish you all the best. Until next time! 🙏🙏🙏
Happy mother's day to cedar And Happy Birthday to Rhet Us as parents always want r kids to be better then us and do better And ur place is lookn wonderful
There is a RU-vid video describing a bermed greenhouse in Nebraska. It describes how a retired postal worker built it and uses ground heat to heat and cool the greenhouse. The interesting thing is they are growing high value product in Nebraska such a s citrus and other southern grown products. In all, an interesting video that I suspect would work well in the area you're located in if you chose.
Want to give ' likes' to your videos as always, something wrong with you tube allowing me do do this !!! Great viewing & sharing as always. From NZ, happiness & love always. ❤
To talk about to topic of meat. I’ve got a freezer full of deer and hogs that I’ve killed myself about the only beef I buy is steak from a local farm. I’m not too worried about the “meat shortage” because of it. It’s a good comfort knowing that I don’t have to worry. I also grow most of the vegetables I eat.
Happy Mother's Day Sedar. I bought a t-shirt from you , 1 year ago and I love it. I can not say enough good thinks about your Channel . Canada has some good products too. lol lol
I’m right there with you. We have become disconnected from our food and young people in America think food comes from the refrigerator. This disconnect was brought home to me when I deployed to Afghanistan in ‘07. I’m doing everything I can to teach my children and grandchildren what food production means but I’m an old man and only have a limited time. Everyone needs to make themselves as self sufficient as possible. I honk this virus is a precursor to what we are going to face in the rears to come.
