My van life story - my father bought a VW camper in 1973 from a couple of American hippies who were living in it. This was at Hawkes Bay, Karachi Pakistan. The engine block had a crack in it which he repaired with Araldite glue! Because the block in these is made of aluminium it could not be welded. In the summer of 1973, our family went in that camper from Karachi to Galway, in the west of Ireland and back. I was only a kid then but I still remember that great trip.

Props to you girl! I've seen you conquer a motorcycle so I have total faith in you. Service the drivetrain as soon as you can and I believe you will have yourself good times in the future! Maintenance is key to success.... Lol

truth, I'm a Brit currently in Italy going back to the beaches of Cornwall for three months then plan to spend the summer doing the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, the quarterly chunk is working well for me as long as it's planned around not being in the UK for winter! @Wanderbike

Yaaa Duey !! He actually got a whole overhaul this last year when I was back, wish I did it 4 years ago when the tranny first blew, prices have tripled 😩💩 but at least now I have a working van 🎉 This trip with the Nissan was very discouraging, but only because of the water leakage situation. If conditions were perfect, or I knew better how to restore these things wouldn’t be an issue. I love traveling in my van, took duey all the way to Newfoundland (other side of Canada) and back. You will have to come to North America some Time for a road trip with the crew 😍. Fun times 🎉

Oh boy! What a nightmare scenario...can you say, Buyer's Remorse? Your Hubs was totally right. Don't buy that Piece of _ _ _ _ When you say, got a deal, I hope that meant the seller paid you to take it away..haha. Always great to see your adventures tho, Rosie. Even if I am cringing as you expose the mold and leaks. I'll be surprised to see if the tape holds up. Looking forward to the next episode...as we sit here in Cali, waiting for some big atmospheric river storms coming in. All the best to you and Hubs, from us. ❤

I can see what's coming Rosie. It happened to me. In the spring of 2009 I converted a big delivery van into a campervan and went travelling around the UK for the summer. Spring of 2024 is just round the corner and I've still yet to move back into a house. They just seem so static and inside to me now. Welcome to the world of crusty travellers Rosie!. X

Wish this one lasted. I’m handy, but not that handy. Would have needed to gut the entire thing :( I did get my 83 westy working though, might hit the road in that. Big downside is it’s not 4x4 and not sure if it can fit a dirt bike on the back :/ but I genuinely loved traveling in the van, a bed on wheels, what’s not to love !!

@@RosieGabrielle your old VW is maybe a bit small but its rear engine & rear drive. Put some knobbly tyres on it and it'll go just about anywhere. I used to work lots of music festivals & those were the only campervans that didn't get stuck in British mud lol. PS, thank you for every new vlog you post. I can no longer remember how long ago I started following your channel and you instantly became my favourite youtuber & still are. I missed you during your sabbaticals, but I do understand why. Just an aside, my three favourite are the buddy episode, little chicken and the shim sha valley road. ( I probably spelled the last one wrong?). What you do so well Rosie is revealing that depth of compassion, empathy & humanity that so rare few people posses in this world. You're a on off Rosie!!!. Thank you 😊

Tudo maravilhoso, te acompanhamos de um vale longínquo cercado de montanhas com mais de 4.000m de altitude, imagine que para chegar aqui só a pé ou a cavalo. É realmente como voltar no tempo! Nós vivemos como antigamente a não ser pela antena de internet por satélite! Para fazer compras é necessário um dia de viagem e por mais surreal que seja o lugar onde vivemos nós sempre te assistimos e curtimos seus vídeos desde uma casa ilhada por rios de águas termais com cachoeiras cristalinas no coração da selva andina e sem vizinhos!

Once your done with the RV. That size of RV is on demand here in America. Sell it on one of your trips to America. It's also on demand on America because you can make income renting the RV out. The smaller the more on demand.

Already sold it after this, but since I bought in winter and sold in spring, and also cleaned it up a lot, I ended up making money on it. I’ve since got my 83 VW working, needed a tranny rebuild, might sell that too and get something more reliable.

@@RosieGabrielle I tried but couldn't minus it,I commit no crime but I was jailed to release a human being he was jailed a month ago waiting for only 20 rials but nobody help him in his barrack. I was new to that police barrack at the beginning of the introduction that boy came to me and asked for 20 rials if you gave that money I can go to my country (India), suddenly I was shocked why I was jailed. I gave him that money and he flew to his country I don't know him He doesn't know me. I hope you like my true story. The End. From Lahore Pakistan.

I don't know what type of framework you have under that outer skin but rhe one I took apart had a wooden framework, which sadly was rotten where thw water was getting in.too much of a project to save, so it was stripped and sold for parts.
