OOh wow thanks so much for sharing. I love your "new" doll house. Yes, crime scene, get rid of the evidence. I know what you are talking about. We bought an old doll house for my daughter when she was little. The walls were awful so we repapered with paper from a wall paper sample book. We got it free from a store that sold wall paper. We found some very pretty appropriate papers and my daughter loved it. Still have it. Not sure what scale, but the Fisher Price Loving family and furniture fit in it perfect. I found everything on eBay. Lots of crime scene evidence needed to be disposed. We also made a few pieces of furniture. I added more people for my grand daughter when she got old enough to enjoy it. She had a doll for every member of her family. So much fun for her and me too!
What a beautiful story Diana! I'm so glad you shared it 😄 Wow, I remember those wallpaper books. 😂 Do they still have stores like that? I bought a vintage 70s Fisher Price house for my son when he was little, people, furniture and all. I still have it somewhere 🤔 🥰
Hello, cute house, they seem very popular at the moment, Lisa of Miniature things by Lisa has one the same on her channel, you can get replacement images for the front of Triang dolls houses, I've seen them recently I think it was ebay , if you google replacement Triang dolls house decals they should come up, as for decor my opinion is I think you can do whatever you like with mid century mass produced dolls houses, but not with the proper antique ones I think they should be left as is. I'm looking forward to watching what you decide to do with it 😊 Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧
Hi Diane! I’m thinking these Triangs are much more plentiful on your side of the pond, but us Yankees want them 😂😂😂 (well this one does). I’ve seen those decals just this week. I’d like to stay s as true to the original as possible. I already have a backstory for her so stay tuned! Any advice/opinions are welcome here! 😍✨
I think your Dollhouse is SO ADORABLE!! Paint a new garden!! I cant wait to see how you decorate it!! Have fun doing that. We will ALL ENJOY SEEING YOU DO SO ❤
Hi Rayna🤗 That's my plan. I've experimented on my mini house and was happy with the results. I'm very excited to work on this house. Tune in for the give away video Wednesday (I hope you're entered if you want to be) and I'll reveal more about the house and it's name in my doll family history. Thank you so much for your very kind comment. 😍✨
Yes Debbie! I already have a story developed for this house and it will be in the same neighborhood. Stay tuned for more about that! Thanks so much for watching! 😍✨
Hi Dot! It has been a while since I visited you here on the Tube (I have had quite a busy summer!) I love the dollhouse so much! I plan on doing some research into the Lines Brothers Dollhouses, you have sparked my interest AND curiosity!😄 and those upholstered chairs & sofa are just precious in your new house🌸💕
Hi Heather Elizabeth! The website I mention in the video has so much information. They are hard to come by in the US but there is a whole other world on ebay uk. Lol. I'm so glad you stopped by! 😍✨
I love it!!! Especially with the furnishings! Can't wait to see what else you get for it!! I think you should find a way to paint or sculpt the flower garden on the exterior. That would be so pretty! You could possibly just find some stickers to do it with. ❤
Thanks my friend! It seems the garden flowers of the 1950s were not as detailed as the earlier issue houses, like sponge paint really. I suppose I could try it. I'm just nervous I might make it worse than no flowers at all! 🤣😍✨
I will definitely be on the lookout. There are some available online. I can also paint my own if I can get up the nerve. I'll need to practice first 🤣 Thanks Tiny Nina ✨😍
Lovely , your in good company Triang houses are just the best I have one from the stockbrokers range ,they are so well made and last forever great buy and find ❤ see ya soon ! Xx
Oh wow, I saw this but forgot to put a bid in! I’m SO glad that it went to you. I just love that. 😊😁. Such an amazing price. It looked like it was well packaged too. Even the postage within the UK was way cheaper than I paid for Thyme Cottage (which was very overpriced postage!) lovely that it came with some accessories too. My original Thyme Cottage was based on this design. Congratulations you will really enjoy it. Yes the little lounge suite is 1/16th made by Barton I think. I’d definitely leave the downstairs wallpaper, but you have freedom foe the top floor. You can buy Triang decals, but I’m not sure if they do them for this period of house.
That's so incredible that you were also looking at this sweet little house! I love that too 😄 I think there's more of the original wall paper behind the brown craft paper (I peeked) but the over paper is also very old and fragile 😂 I did not notice decals in the same style that would have been on my house. That's so funny about the shipping. Well, not funny actually. Thank you for your valuable input! 😍✨
Yay you made my day! So happy for you, it’s beautiful I can’t wait to see what you bought and what your plans are for the rooms. I’ve been on the hunt but the ones I like from UK don’t ship to the US. I just have to be patient I guess. Have a great day.
Hi! from the uk. Beautiful house. The usual scale in the uk is 1/12. I am working on a 1950s house at the moment. It gas been a challenge trying to decorate and get pieces from that era. I have made some of them. As I say challenging as it is 1/16 scale. Good luck with your house. Jude xx
Hi Jude! 🤗 Thank you so much for your comment! I would love to hear more about your house. I love 50s era everything. Even though I'm a newby, I'm having fun trying to make my own minis. 😍✨
Awesome! In Sweden the "Lundby" dollhouse system are using the 1:18 scale, so it is the most common scale to find here, however i did use some of it i found on fleamarkets for my 1:12 dollhouse, mainly because it was cheap and i liked the style, like ligts and other things that did fit, just remember that those lights are 4,5V, not 12V and the German Christmas crib lights are only 3V, non of the connectors do crossfit however, the 4,5 V connectors are much bigger and the 3V are even bigger. (i do use the German 3V system for a couple of flickering firelights in my Dollhouse and the Lunby system for a few chandeliers, but i will probably make a separate line for those).
Aw your house sounds SO CUTE! I love the Lundby style and can see one of those sometime in the future. They are very popular here and seem to be of good quality with lots of beautiful furniture and accessories. 😍✨
Lisa ,on miniature things by Lisa ,I think has the exact same house. She may be able to send you a way to copy the stairs. Put the garden back. That is why they sent all the flowers, they painted out the original. Seems dirty. May tell more from cleaning ,but talk to Lisa.
Thanks Susan (or is it Susana?). I learn so much from Lisa. Haha, I hadn't thought about the flower garden items they sent. It does need the painted garden back one way or another. I need to let it sit with me a bit. I saw a post on the UK website of a woman who did scrape away paint to reveal original flowers. 😳 I admit that intimidates me. 😍✨
I am amazed at the low price for this awesome house! I live a few hours from Seattle and have been afraid to order from Britain, although I love all old front-opening houses. I really never liked American houses with the static front and the back open. Dusty and seems odd to look at everything backwards! I like the old handmade couch and chairs. The bedroom pieces are very pretty but rather newish for this house. Could they be aged a bit?
Hi Maroulio😁 Ooh, you're a fellow West Coaster! 🤗 I feel same as you. We just don't have the plethora of these types of old houses here. I decided it would ultimately be cheaper to buy one there, even with shipping. It was packaged perfectly. I don't think I'm going to keep the bedroom pieces for this house, but the size is perfect. I'm just not sure yet. I did make a fireplace for it (spoiler alert 😂). Let me know if you take the plunge and decide to buy overseas. 😍✨
Aw, don't be jealous 😄 There's plenty of Triangs for everyone! 😄 Especially in the UK. They are a particular bargain for those who can collect them in person😍✨
I just looked some up. Wonderful! These look like nice big houses. Mine is super small! The Neely Hall looks like a house you can really do up. Keep me posted and congratulations! 😍
@@thedollcupboard yes l am in N. Ireland. Love all the Triang houses. If you have a chance take a look at Dolly Mixture houses they are very similar to the Triang 61 with the exception of a bay window.♥️
I have a good pic of the original garden. Do you think I should try to paint it? Someone suggested trying to scrape off the overpaint to see if it reveals anything. That sounds wayyy beyond my skill level. 😍✨
I'd paint one back on it! It's kinda part of the charm of Triang. And it's not really a difficult paint job. It kinda looks to me like it's sponge painting.. just maybe practice on paper first but I'd give it a go.. did you see the room divider I put in my house? If I had one complaint about our houses (this style of Traing House) I'd say I really dislike that upper floor not having at least a partial wall.. it's too big for a bedroom and the main floor is my kitchen..so I need a sitting room.. so I divided it.. but not permanently... I didn't want to alter it and damage it.. you know what I mean?
