I Bought An Abandoned Storage Unit For Only $10 | One Man's Trash Is Another Man's Treasure 

Melissa, if you ever find pants/jeans that are or aren’t sellable, try to check the pockets. I used to work in a thrift store, and you would be amazed at how many times cash was found.

I had a friend in Nebraska that manage a storage unit .She had a auction and there was a 5 x5 and the only thing in it was a suit case and some trash . This old man bought it for $3.00 . And when he opened the suitcase there was $17,000 in it .Boy was he a happy camper .

Remember your true costs involved. Yes, the unit was only $10 but you still have to pay tax on top of that. You also have your time to go to unit and load stuff. Gas for 2 trips. One hour of labor to clean the items. These all add up. I would say you will be lucky to break even on this unit. The storage place should be ashamed for even listing this unit for sale. They knew it was mostly just trash.

The white metal thing with the 2 hooks at the top is either a storage basket for foil and plastic wrap or the other thing it could be is a magazine or book rack that hangs on the side of your toilet tank and the lid sets down on it. I have one in both of my bathrooms. LOL I bought a couple of books for bathroom reading and a couple word searches and a pencil and have a set in each bathroom. I used to spend a lot of time in the bathroom on my "thrown" and I don't like taking my phone or tablet in there so you actually can learn some unimportant trivia or do word puzzles while you are in the "library" doing paperwork. I am like the other person and think it is probably a storage bin. I would disinfect it really good either way. I enjoy your sense of humor and your curiosity. Keep `em coming!

I loved this video!! Not too overwhelming !! I felt like it was a doable thing for one person!! Got an array of things!! I would have kept all the pots and pans and sold as a set at flea market!! Would have got at least 10.00 out of them and a lid for them was in one of the boxes!! The white thing goes over yr cabinet door to hold like foil Saran Wrap wax paper etc

You’re a great example for all of us watching that don’t have the motivation to hustle like that! You certainly deserve a pat on the back (and maybe a dinner courtesy of Rob and a massage). The Corningware pan and definitely the yellow saw guide tool surely more like $5. When it comes to deciding whether to keep an item to use or sell, definitely sell! (Like the multi-level metal mesh organizer: try to sell it! If there are no takers, fine, but you have plenty of stuff already - better to make that $$$ if you can! Haha) You put in hard work - and although that doesn’t change people’s willingness to pay - those items can easily sell for above $1. Oh and, ironing board covers are sold by themselves at Walmart, Target, etc., so even if that one was torn to pieces, it’s easily replaceable. The metal ironing board itself was fine I assume? If you ever come across another but it has a gross cover, grab it and spend $3 on a new cover. Cheers!

The white wire basket is for the side of toilet tank for magazines or whatever you want, maybe some wet wipes.

That cabinet thingy alone is your $10 made back. I'd say if you sold everything you kept for $1 & the cabinet for $10, you'd double your money. 👍 This is exciting. I'm not ready to buy a unit myself but this helps me think about it.

I have the same corning casserole dish. It's one if my favorites to cook in. The little white basket hangs on the side of a toilet tank to hold magazines. Pot lids sell at flea markets because ppl try to replace them. You probably could have gotten a couple dollars on the basic pans too if they weren't filthy.

If that little steam cleaner works keep it. My mom had one and it does really good to clean grease and really soiled things. If you buy more units it'll really help you clean things to take to the market. And it's great to help clean any grease or grime in your kitchen and bathroom

you should see my pots LOL i would have kept the whole set... if you keep doing the storage lockers things you NEED a thing called "the pink stuff". A pink paste you rub and is magic. Cleans like a charm.

I inherited a dirt devil steamer from my grandfatger-in-law. Exactly like that one, but in white. Their good for cleaning in small places, like windows.

This is just my opinion but I don't think you're asking enough for your items at the flea market! You need to mAke it worth your time and the white baking dish is nice to have, I love mine!

I love the small cheap lockers. Low stakes, but there's like always a chance to find some gold. 😅 If that part of the chair was real leather I would totally repurpose the leather, because that blue was really pretty, and it was quite big.

I dumpster dive at our condos. They've been building apartments on the same property so people throw perfectly good items away. Just recently i found a nice, barely worn pair of Polo shoes. A cotton Polo sweater. I wash all the clothes i find and bring them to work. People take what they want and the rest of the stuff i sell at a garage sale!!

Those dirt devil steam cleaners steam clean crevices in your kitchen and bathroom and on tile. It's so hot when it comes out it literally melts the dirt and grime off of places. Good for cleaning the bathroom in the tub sinks etc

If you have a best buy close buy Melissa you can always drop electronics there to be recycled. The computer, batteries probably the keyboards.

I am sure someone else has already mentioned it but I couldn't find it. The white thing that hangs on to something is to put hay in. You could use it for any animal that eats grass or hay. I had those for my guinea pigs when I had them.

Heads up with electronics you should keep them outside the house or put them in several layers of bags with bug traps in them. When I was in IT Electronics school we used to repair computers, monitors, TV’s, radios etc and the amount of bugs, roaches especially in them! 😬 They seek out warm places to breed. Love your videos! I use bar keepers friend to clean corningware and Pyrex. It works like a charm on all kinds of things.

the dirt devil thing is a steam pot. for cleaning. you put water in it and it makes steam lots of people use them to clean in crack and crevasise . alternitive to chemicals.

The rectangle yellow thing that you use for sawing is actually called a miter box and they sell anywhere from $8 to $20 brand new so I would ask two or $3 for it if I were you it would still be a great deal

The benefit of cleaning and selling or donating is that it keeps out of the land fill

Wow you really made that pot shine! The cabinet looks great too. I wouldn't worry about the slightly darker wood on the door. A lot of people buy stuff at flea markets to DYI. They could always put a good coat of paint on that.

That’s a dirt devil steamer. You steam grout and tight spaces like corners of shower stalls etc. they are great and expensive! Hope it works cause you can sell it

The preferred stock stainless steel pot sales for over $30 with the lid. Without the lid you should easily get three to five dollars and that's if you want to sell it fast. That is an extremely well-known brand and it is known for being very durable

Mine is In great shape too but it's just not something I need since I also have one over my sink too, so I dont need both. blue thing steam cleaner, if bottles and cans are worth money in florida you could cash them in. Those keyboards you could get a couple of dollars for . They can be sold as back up keyboards. A lot of it people go through keyboards a lot.

Hello Cheap Chick, the computer parts when taken to a recycling place can net a person a few bucks. There are parts inside that require certain metals such as gold, silver and copper that the reuse also spare parts. Check in your area for who buys or recycles them. Good business should no one else do it. The mop can be refitted with a new end and with the bucket is worth $40, ironing board worth $20, computer parts $5-50, and then some. All together the stuff inside worth around $100. Good deal actually and might be able to start Cheap Chick recycling? new business Governments encourage people to do. Thanks for dharing those pots and pans are decent ones. The white hanging thing can be used for magazines, or under the sink for spray products, keeping plastic bags organized or some other useful rack that hangs off the back of a door or in a cupboard. The thing u do not know what is looks like a silverware holder that hooks over edge of an older dish drainer. The older ones used to come in 2 pieces so u could hang the silver holder where u wanted or needed to.

Melissa, the best way to clean stainless steel is to use denture tablets. I own a lot of coffee mugs and thermos and all I do is drop a tablet with hot water in them and let them soak overnight. All I have to do the next day is dump the cleaner out and wash the items with soap and water. It does an amazing cleaning with little work. You can get the denture cleaner at Dollar Tree for cheap.

Did a nice job cleaning those items. Got some stuff at my house to clean. LOL

The Dirt Devil thing is a surface steamer. You fill it with water and it heats it up and basically clean stuff with the steam

I looked the blue Dirt Devil up on google lens. It's a handheld pressurized steam floor cleanser. They sell for $33 on walmart. So bingo! You got your money back!

The white hook basket, hand inside a cabinet door and holds aluminum foil, cling wrap, parchment paper, that sort of thing. You really did great! This was so much fun!

The better homes and garden wooden drawer organizer sales for $6 at my local Walmart so you should be able to get a quick one to three dollars for it.
