@ViolentKisses87 all bare or stained wood is nice wood and always a shame to paint oner it. Sheetrock and other synthetic building materials I don't have a problem painting but REAL would should be shown off

Dope hope he sees this. That sounds like a really fun hobby/business, I've wanted to try some of the projects I've seen myself but there's no way I could afford all the tools and materials required. But that's a great idea, it would be huge exposure for you, and an awesome piece of furniture for free for him, as well as a nice gesture! If you don't hear a response, I would just go ahead and build it anyway and then get in contact with him with some pictures and just say this is yours, he'll take it if you don't procrastinate and have it done soonish. But don't just make a comment, find out how to call or email them or even mail them the pictures and a note, and then be prepared to deliver it. Maybe you can get dining room dimensions or perhaps you can glean enough from the footage... it sounds like he wants a very long table, perhaps enough to seat 10-12. Your table will be in his house if you choose to make it happen. Can't wait to see it in a video.

Nah... a wine cellar or jacuzzi. Out of bounds for kids. A grown ups dungeon. Not enough natural light so small time exposure. I also agree with other comments, should be called the "Southern Comfort" house.

I would use a clear oil based wood preservative. We use TWP brand oil stain on and inside our log home here in Tennessee, and it looks beautiful on its own. Exterior, you have to reapply every few years, but interior we've been here 6 yrs and haven't touched it since.

I like "Mamas Wildflower Ranch" as well. Leave the flowers wild and let a landscaper or gardener handle the grass, a pool guy the pool upkeep etc.. Just don't ruin the hill country vibe making things sterile and modern.

I agree with everything except painting the kitchen, unless it's to a lighted buttercream yellow!

The sauna is what I thought the room was when the door opened.

Yellow is a very soothing color for a kitchen. After some interesting wall decor is added, one would hardly notice the wall color!

I like the yellow walls, it's sunny. But might be too much, needs to fit the tile/counters

Trex holds far more heat than wood boards. Very bad for out in the Texas sun.

@@Arkay66 yeah, I've felt that in NY with some of the decks and docks I've been on too, thought there would be a color or Maybe some other material that could be used/found. The boards on the main entrance are def in need of some tlc is why I even thought about it

They could use the pantry for storing folding chairs, tables, and table cloths for large gatherings.

Moving plumbing is a major expense and it's really not necessary. The house is more than large enough to have bookshelves everywhere or choose a room without plumbing to become an actual library.

Also it looks like there may be some outbuildings on that property from the drone shots. If there are consider converting them to additional living spaces if they aren't needed. The property we ended up finding for our family get together actually consisted of a main house and then a second smaller apartment style space above one of the properties garages (both properties were included in the Vrbo and couldn't be rented separately)
