Yet another 1/10 scale RC crawler lands on the CC bench! Can you guess what it is?!
- Spoiler alert -
It's the Axial SCX10 iii early Bronco. I just could not pass up the smoking deal that Horizon Hobby was offering on this beautiful rig and I scooped up the last one that was available at my local hobby shop. In this video I unbox the truck, run it, and provide a high-level overview of the key features as well as my initial thoughts after running it.

Welcome to the Old Bronco Club. I'm sure you will be improving your performance soon. Install a Reefs sway bar & servo, lower the link mount position shocks, reduce the transmission gears, and add an Hobbywing 2 in 1 pro (not required).

Did you have issues when you moved the shocks down to the link position? I did this and the shocks kept popping off the ball ends.

@@tundrasr5709 I didn’t have any issues. I used longer screws and spacers to keep everything aligned and free of binding. It really settles the top heavy down with the lowered center of gravity. The sway bar is key as well.

I got the teal one when it first came out, put a set of 90mm desert lizard shocks on that bad boy, you should be pleased with the performance. Lots of available adjustments, a droop setup seems to be the best. Congrats on your new ride bro. Awesome video Adam 👍😀

Please do an upgrade video series on this!!! I just got mine at sale price and cant wait to start doin the upgrades. Also got a scx6 honcho at the same time and had it out this weekend. What a blast it was, i suggest anyone who can afford it to go get one!

I also switched the shocks to their 90 mm shocks helps with the torque twist performs a lot better

I had to get one too. $499 was a bit too much but $299 made much more sense. I did the same. 90mm shocks off my Gladiator, pulled in the front bumper some, program that Smart ESC combo, and this truck got so much better.

I bought 2 of these and I am still alive to talk about it. Basically, it was a 2 for 1 sale when you see what these sold for at their release about a year or so ago. Axial sold more in the last month at that $299 price then they had up to this clearance price.

Sometimes when you use the dig doesn’t want to unlock instead of hitting reverse a little bit just wiggle the front wheels back-and-forth most of the time it will unlock it

Oh Thank God! Your wife didn't kill ya LoL 🤣. I know exactly how that is buying another Rig LoL 🤣. This is an Awesome addition to your trail fleet Adam. The realism and fun factor is off the chain! Love the classic look. Axial nailed it with this one. Great rundown and first run. Your son confirmed it's Awesomeness LoL 🤣. I'm also looking forward to getting one as well for my son to trail with. Not sure if you missed it.. the front has pre-drilled holes to mount a servo for a winch! Same as my Gladiator.

I picked one up back when the Spring Cleaning sale started a couple weeks back. All I’ve done to it is drop the lower shock mounting location to where the links mount and run a longer screw thru them both (a la the portal axle versions) put some cheap dual stage foams in the tires and do a little ESC programming (a standard HobbyWing box works or they sell a specific Dynamite-branded one for it). My dig servo isn’t working quite right it gets stuck sometimes I think the screw is bottoming out and not letting me get enough tension on the servo saver spring. I need to find a shorter one. Oh, and I moved the on/off switch to somewhere I can reach without taking the body off.

I got one in teal, arrived a few days ago. Its definitely a cool looking truck. Havent used it yet...I am planning to convert it to 2 speed transmission and just use the servo from the dig as the servo for changing gears.

Before, my wife would give me a hard time about the hobby. Till one day I told her: "when you buy expensive make-up, and what not, I don't say anything! Even though I discourage the use of 1:10 scale use.....It would be nice to see that Gold Standard Cape Crawler Flex on a tenth scale. Then you can stop and go back to 1:24th scale. You know. You're probably already burnt out on the big stuff.

Watch out the front driveshaft like to pop apart I was trail running mine and noticed that it was driving weird picked it up and my front drive shaft is missing the center section

I have the axial C10 with 53mm shocks, and I am having issues with the front driveshaft disconnecting, are there any extended front driveshaft that would fit the C 10 that could fix this issue?

Yep RTR. They had the SCX10 II builder’s kit on blowout too. The SCX10 III kit is a Jeep JLU and it comes with the AR45 portal axles. The Bronco has straight axles.

I put the 90mm shocks on it from my Gladiator and it lowered it significantly. I'm anxious to test it. I think lowering the ride height will solve the rollover issue. Some folks mount the shocks to the lower linkage point using a longer bolt. It's a quick fix to drop the height without swapping shocks.
