Barum were made under licence by Continental, and very good tyres! Sailun are a budget/mid range tyre, not too bad, and probably supplied by National Tyres

Owned the same car for two years. Comfortable and refined with a nice auto gearbox...until I started getting trouble with it starting.

Great video, Matt, you are showing us a great view of how things are going to change in the future. The way things are going, 14 year old cars will never happen in the future, with so many electronics/touch screens/online updates modern cars will become unrepairable/unaffordable after a few years and then we will have to go to a subscription model for car ownership, like Microsoft Office. Well done.

A 14 year old car, still worth over £3000, with no real problems. Cars in the 60's and 70's went as rotten as carrots, some of them were starting to rust from new, my dad had a contract with Fiat to repair in transit bumps and scrapes, panels were already rusting.

Wow! I can see exactly why they fly off the forecourt. As soon as you open that double hatch. Press the seat button. Drop that floor shelf, and then….the torch. I can just see a child’s face lighting up, and selling it to their parents 😂

You are right Llangefni is on the Isle of Anglesey or Ynys Mon in Welsh my family go back over 1000 years on the Isle of Anglesey a beautiful place to grow up and live , keep up the great video's Matt my dad was looking at selling his 05 fiesta thats coming up to 100k miles and i told him to put all his receipts in a binder as he has every receipt and Mot since he has owned it and always gets anything wrong like advisories fixed and the underneath sealed i told him that if he got it valeted before selling along with the receipts in a binder he would get more money being the older generation and a bit stubborn it took showing your video's before he listened 😂.

In my country it ain't strange thing to find 3008 with 300k+ km i saw some with 500k fair point they are usually Standard Auto or Manuals very rarely i see Semi over 200k

The only thing that matters for peugeots from this era is, is it a diesel. Because the 1.6 vti and 1.6 thp are completely garbage. Engines are ruined at 100k miles.

Barum tyres have been around a long time Matt. No idea if they're any good or not though..... This one looks as though it's been run on a shoestring. Looks to have worked out ok in the end, and should find a buyer fairly pronto..... Anything £4k and below, usually flies off the forecourt if it's tidy.....

Half up (not one up) from Chinky ditchfinders. You're better of with a decent Chinese made-to-a-Euro-spec-compound like Imperial - which are easily as good as Kleber

No really. I own Peugeots for years and I know old THP engines aren't great..if you wanna get then definitely diesel . Their HDI engines are great, reliable and so cheap to maintenance. I spend about 50£ / year for oil , filters. That's it as I didn't change anything else and They're Superb on fuel. I know for sure Mk1 308 1,6 HDI done world record as well as couple in Australia done 1190 miles on full tank! (60l) which is ridiculous 🙆 I owned same 308 1,6 HDI sport for 5 and half years and I managed to do over 1000 miles on full tank. Crazy. That car didn't cost me anything to run and maintenance really. 2l HDI is even better. They're bulletproof.

Been looking at 3008's over the last week or so and TBH don't think you have much chance at £4k; plenty on Autotrader, newer, less money and similar mileage with service history. It could be sitting a while, however best of luck with it, your reputation could well swing it when it comes to sell.

Hmm...in DK where I live, that car would cost double of what you're charging, the repair costs would probably be double too. And very few used car dealers would provide any kind of warranty on the car - apart from what the dealers are legally obliged to and which doesn't mean 💩 unless you're in the mood for/ in financial shape to hire lawyers and stuff. I'll move to the UK soon, just to get the chance to buy a car from you. Not this one though, it's pretty ugly.

Like the light interiors. As a two car Merc owner where the options are basically black, black or black I'm good to see. At 70k miles and £4k it's good for a young family. Hopefully 10-20k trouble free and a nice panoramic sunroof to amuse the kids on a long run.

My last merc was a B200 in ““desert storm”” trim… I loved the beige interior! (Steppe brown exterior, post facelift, chrome pack, beige over black interior)

The diesel engines from Peugeot and Citroen are usually quite good, but all petrol engines from 2006 onwards from Peugeot and Citroen (Vti and Puretech) are known for severe oil consumption and internal pollution in the cilinders. So beware of that.

Check to see if it's got 4 wheel arches. Then do a Car Horizontal check ✅ for servicing at the MOT.

I have a similar problem that many others do on here.. I watch these videos purely for entertainment purposes and not because I was really interested in a used 3008, nor that I ever will. I'll tell you what, Matt, Peugeot should be paying you commission for these videos. Despite being an older model, I thought the interior was well looked after and well spec'd. Although I counted 6 Mats, including you. Whatever small profit you made on this, it looked great when you had the work done and will serve someone well for years to come. So even if your bank balance doesn't benefit too much, you're banking points with the man upstairs and stopping good cars getting scrapped. Win win.

Sold my 2012 5008 1.6 thp with 25k miles in 2020.. 2nd worst car I've ever owned. Tappet cover, 500 pound. High pressure fuel pump, 800 pound. Heater core 400 pound. All door seals 300 pound. Then I made a bigger mistake by buying a GL Merc
