I really appreciate how, after all these years, there's still little to no BS clickbait titles on this channel. Love knowing what I'm getting when I click. Hope V2 comes out nice.
Yeah so many annoying clickbait videos from some of what used to be favorite RU-vidrs. I’ve slowly unfollowed and stopped watching the ones with annoying clickbait (like DDE) and annoying and over flowing giveaways (like goonzquad). I used to love the goonzquad channel but it’s now my least favorite and have recently unfollowed.
@@commonsenseisdeadin2024It's not really a "fall for it" situation... So many channels that you would be watching anyways are using the tactic that it's unavoidable, at this point I just assume most titles are hyperbolic and prepare for disappointment lol
@@hardknox1917 an overwhelming feeling of great happiness or joyful excitement. that’s the definition of ecstasy chill out and read a book and expand your vocabulary so you don’t comment and sound like a jack bss.
The boosted boiz have always been all about fun projects, never for "the views". Its what sets them apart from other channels "taking delivery of my gazillion dollar super car" then "so sad to see my gazillion dollar super car leave"
Kyle, i hate to be that "guy" but i mean this in the best way. If you are to use those class 0 gloves again, please get the proper goat leather covers. Using welding gloves is not smart because i can guarantee those have metal shavings on and in them. We get our cloves tested every 6 months like we should and its crazy how many regects come back with pinholes detected. We deal with higher voltages up to 230kV but we still do 480V work and would hate to see you get bit. The gloves are a dime a dozen too and they last years and dont need replaced, but you keep them only for those gloves. Also suggest a cloth case for them too. Stay safe.
I hope Kyle and Wyatt stay safe, first and foremost. However the reality of electrical safety, as you clearly know, is based in education. Without the requisite electrical education, they will not know how to stay safe. Working on and troubleshooting high voltage systems is high risk when you know what you’re doing. The correct PPE is a fantastic start, hopefully they stay safe and alive
I work with electric earthmoving machines and just gloves isn't even enough. You need an electrical arc resistant face shield too. I've seen what a short in a 48V system did when a guy was diagnosing it and plugged in a faulty part with the power on... luckily got away with just a scare! But a very loud bang and molten metal was present 😅
It's a smart team that has their portfolio diversified. I love internal combustion but EV is damn fast too. Use all the tools in your box. Just go fast in lots of ways!! I'm 65 years old and I'll be here enjoying all of it!!
I'm speaking for myself here but im sure many others feel this way as well. Electric, gas, drag, street, shopping cart it honestly doesn't matter what you're working on. I would watch you do a ride on lawnmower build 😂😂 Been here for years would never miss a single upload ❤
I'm a petrol head from way back,, but DUDE , I got genuinely excited when the Tesla screen powered up. Your content is ALWAYS entertaining, whether it be petrol, diesel or electric. keep em coming boys.
Kyle, the pyro fuse was my 1st thought when you were having issues getting it to start. Then I continued watching and saw that you got to that point. I'm glad you got her going and learning more on these Teslas!
But that would take real engineering & I'm starting to understand why so many people die on American roads. You would never get anything like this pass engineering in my country.
Working on them EV's is all new to all of us and it's like starting from the beginning again working on them car's. We are all learning together. Them EV's are easy to work on really. it's cool we are finding the modules are doing the talking and if we can find which one not talking, we can fix it are self. Awesome contents
@@Jacobtheunwise would be cool to see them actually "tune" a Tesla. Likely has to do with ramp up rates and allowable current to the drive circuits. Electric cars are just giant motors with VFDs controlling them.
Love the channel. It’s great to see young guys with the knowledge and practical skills that you have. I started watching bc the Plaidessey video got in my feed. Now, I’ve been checking out a bunch of your past videos too. Ps my 77 year old dad loves your channel too
I was not enthusiastic about the Tesla content at first, but I've grown to love the Plaidessy 1.0 and can't wait for 2.0 to be done and ripping! I'm here for it!
Its crazy how a good channel can get you liking things youve never cared about. I was always kinda a honda hater till i found boosted boiz like 4 or 5 years ago. Now they got me interested in EVs. And cleetus got me watching videos on air planes and RC toys and stuff id never even consider watching but yall make its exciting and entertaining so id watch yall do damn near anything.
@@crypticchris8812 same... Kyle has so many other projects that have been neglected thanks to his new EV fascination... Its so sad. I mean I was really looking forward to seeing the Hatch, Van, and NSX become competitive, but its been years now and the progress on these cars in non-existent. The little 2jz "pro-mod" is cool, but I dont really have a ton of faith in them with that build I wont lie... I just want to see them start being competitive in drag racing or any form of racing. Even the Mr2 is kinda a crap-show, even tho its made some decent passes. Its been plagued with problems and is far from dialed in. The EV stuff is just boring. Once they get built, they just run the exact same times over and over. Where is the fun in that? The whole reason drag racing is fun, is dialing in the car, and wrenching. With EV, you can sit there eating a burger while u race and its the same thing over and over again. Takes all the fun out of drag racing in my opinion.
I personally love all of it, Tesla content is different but it's always great to learn new stuff, no matter what you're building, i'm all for it, car content is car content no matter of it's electric or gas
Thanks for all this information. I own a 22 Plaid, and believe it or not, I own a 02 Honda Odyssey that I use for my work van. This is the best information I've ever seen anywhere. Looking forward to following your new build of Plaidassey 2.
o I think its fascinating It's just not for me, I tried with my parents' tesla while my jeep is being worked on and I just feel like I have nothing to do driving one and i just start to drift off mentally
@Nuttty I agree with that. Wouldn't buy an electric rn unless it were a second car, and top performance. Though they are on track to outclass our beloved gas machines in terms of 1/4 mile performance. Except for really high dollar stuff like top fuel. But who knows, probably won't be long before there are some ridiculous 4 motor, 2,000 volt torque monsters leaving molten copper down the track
You're smart to respect the high voltage systems, man. In 2013 I watched a dude get absolutely destroyed by a Volt at the gm training academy in Atlanta. He went to the hospital, not sure if he passed away or not, but he was completely unresponsive the last I saw him.
I work at Speirs New Technology and I help disassemble batteries everyday. So I find this content pretty awesome. Plus I love a great sleeper minivan. Keep the content coming.
I got into your channel because of the Tesla stuff, currently own one and its been amazing. 3 years, not a single issue, they are so easy to live with and reliable.
Guys when you need to drag a car up onto the trailer like that put some water between the tyre and the trailer deck ... it helps it slide . ... going to love this plad. V2
I welcome this content. You're just one of the first of many to be doing this kind of thing, in 20 years it will likely be extremely common. The more people who do this kind of thing, the more accessible it becomes to everyone! And hopefully that causes EV parts to be less locked down.
I’m a longtime fan of the channel. I was a Honda fan boy for decades but I’m also a Tesla shareholder and a Tesla owner and I love the Tesla Contant. I think the future is bright for modifying Teslas.
Those "fins" in the bottom of the fuse case are practically the same thing as an arc chute in any low voltage and medium voltage air breakers. The metal fins help deminish and snuff the arc and there will be an arc if that fuse were to blow at 2000A.
They protect you from ground... That's all. When you're working on a grounded circuit, like building voltage, that's what it helps with. When you're working on an ungrounded system like a car or generator, they do (almost) nothing. (Certain circumstances they may help, but only if you're doing something VERY wrong.)
As an electrician, i appreciate the diagnostic process yall go through and absolutely feel the joys of your successes with you! The joke we always make about chasing an intermittent issue "intermittent issues are fun, a lot more fun if you mess with them til theyre permanent and easier to find" 😂 It doesnt always work like that, but man, if its a reasonable diagnostic path, given safety, etc, sometimes its the best way to go. 😂
Am a tesla fanboy, former dieselhead. I found your channel thru the tesla content and then found cleetus's channel after. Yall are doing great work and bringing the EV fans back to our roots. Keep it up.
Its not about the car, its about the guy in front of it. Most Tesla "enthusiasts" are butthurt weirdos. Kyle, Rich Rebuilds (and his friends) and Electrified Garage are coolest dudes that like cool cars no matter the "energy storage architecture".
@@darekmistrz4364 completely agree, the generic oh lets see how long it takes to get from point A to point B in an EV, woopty do anyone can do that math without actually having to drive it. but once some one figures out how to unlock and modify the motors from these EV's so they can be put in anything then the skies the limit.
@@sirmonkey1985 There are many companies that already are doing it. Kyle or Rich or Electrified Garage will probably never be this pioneering because they lack patience and a bit of knowledge. Neverless, they might pay a crucial role in promoting these shops.
I love the diversity of stuff you and Wyatt have going on 4 bangers, inline 6 2J, LS, Diesel, and electric!!!!!!! WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!!!!!! Keep up the great unique content bruh!!!!!
@@darekmistrz4364 yep, he's had it for quite some time now, just didn't have physical possession of it. Idk how long it sat for but it was a good while
Wouldn’t call myself and “electric car guy” but have had the opportunity to drive all of them over the years. Knowing how quick they are I waited forever for content like this. Glad you’re doing unique builds for the fun of it not just for views 🙏‼️
I know I wouldn't be able to afford a Tesla currently, but I appreciate the content in this one. Showing how to troubleshoot more of the Tesla problems if we were to get one from copart. A lot of value in this content. ✌️
Having a Model 3 Performance, a one ton duramax and a 2015 tahoe with Texas Speed goodies on it, we’ve got all the bases covered. Entertainment aside, I’m learning more about our tesla. Keep it up boiz.
I've been watching since the very beginning and I love watching you guys continue to grow. You've came so far and Wyatt being still with you is a testament to your friendship.
Who ever is hating that’s there problem looking where u guys came from from building Hondas at a house to now a shop and why not is fun something different keep going bro good job 👏 I like it
your videos from your 1st plaidessey were the reason i watch the rest of your content. i am and nerd and grew up a gearhead. love your content so much!
Ya know, I was gonna complain. But how about starting a Tesla racing series at the Freedom Factory? If Cleetus can kill all the Crown Vics and Rangers, Kyle can kill all the Teslas. I'd call it a win.
Not saying they couldn't try it, but I don't honestly think the freedom factory is enough track for a plaid, let alone 10-15 of them out there at the same time.
Driving around before they mounted the brake lights. You can see them lighting up the inside of the vehicle up from the floor. Good thing Florida don't care what you drive on the road.
@@sirmonkey1985 Your point is valid for this drive. But they do it all the time with different barely drivable vehicles. No brake lights means the cars behind you can hit you because you know no one ever texts while driving. Or eats while driving. I am the type of person that if I get them available, why not mount them?
Never been a big fan of EV's but you know im still loving the content! Honestly, I could probably watch you guys watching paint dry and still have a good time 😂
Like i said im not a huge fan of ev but i am a huge fan of your channel im gonna watch every video you guys do and im always guaranteed to enjoy keep on keeping on man dont ever quit
I can always remember the buzz I got as a nipper, firmly fist two stroke bike then moved onto 4 strokes then cars.... it now bores me. It's nice to see the buzz on your face like I did as a young lad fixing something I had no idea about. Loving the content atm, yes I'm 40 but times change! Keep it up guys....its paying off
@@CarsAndChicks you're welcome and enjoy lol For me it's the best way to stay engaged while engaging with it at the same time. It's the only way you'll watch at home now lol
Waiting for that bonnet to fly open and smash the front windscreen Boyz, but it stayed down. Going to be an epic V2, I can already see it now! Well done.
Who the heck doesn't like Tesla content? Especially when it's unique, fun, interesting and honestly kind of educational like this. This is a really fun novel approach and I'm so here for it. If it wasn't for the Tesla content I would have no idea who this channel was.
It's been fun boiz! Unfortunately channel has become something I just don't watch as much anymore. Thanks for everything Kyle! Appreciate the knowledge!
Guys - this is my new favourite channel. Fascinating and exciting when the screens come to life! I saw an Old Sandy Munroe video about inspecting a Model S 100kwh Battery pack and they were wearing protection head to foot including a full face mask and prodding it with a length of wood. As if they were poking a tiger through the bars of a cage.... also great that Tesla allows engineers like yourselves to rent their vehicle software. Something else legacy auto won't do?
31:00 the little deals in the fuse is called an arc chute. they are on big fuses, contactors, and breakers. It dissipates the arc caused by breaking a circuit.
The little fins in the pyro fuse is call an Arc Chute. It's used to dissipate large electrical arcs that would otherwise blow up the casing or continue to arc across the fuse after it's blown.
Really like this project, i know you guys are talented enough to make it incredible, and with 7 people in it, it's going to be the best minivan to carry all the boys !
Wow I'm so proud of u. I remember when u guys used belts to tie down battery straps for a single cam to now working on Teslas and swapping over to Honda Odyssey Vans. It's amazing. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 It's truly amazing. You and Cleetus show the American Dream is still alive and available!!!! God bless America!!!! Only in the US can some dream and make it true !!!!❤❤
Hell yeah brother 🤘🤘, been here since you first started the channel. I built my civic watching you guys and learning, now you guys are building even cooler stuff, keep rocking and rolling 💪🔥💯🤘.
Can't wait to see V.2! Ole Lectrician here. Black gloves, have a painted on date from the last air test. If they don't test you buy new ones, gauntlet is to protect. 2000 A. at that voltage will not be pretty, I mean skin graft work. Gloves, face shield, welding jacket or at least sleeves, only cotton clothes, no syn. ya ever get not candy on ya? Anyway, keep on keepin on. oh and no body slam, just have a 4' 2x4 and your good to go.
