It sounds like TikTok Shop is like all the other marketplaces: a combination of legit businesses just using the platform to help get their names out there (the branded items), cheap dropshippers (the low-quality/might fall apart after the first wash stuff), and scammers/fakes (the Ralph Lauren sweater).

She reminds me of myself, I don’t have heel issues but I have some on the front part of my feet & toes. Constantly have toe infections for no reason, also eczema everywhere on my body & it’s even worse on my scalp. On top of that my skin breaks out into hives daily, even without me having an allergic reaction. And mentioning allergies, when it comes to makeup and skincare etc. I’m allergic to almost everything (stupidly the “allergy friendly” products make my skin react even worse). I think my most ironic allergy is aloe Vera, because it’s supposed to be soothing but it’s extremely irritating for me 🥲👍 I also have some food allergies, but I don’t mind those that much since none of them are deadly. I have chronic headaches & get sick super easily. & on top of all that I’m hypersensitive to everything due to my autism. My body is so great 🥹👌 (Btw I’m currently getting treatment for a few things so dw, despite all this I’m not doing too horrible)

I dont do pedicures! Not only cause of infections; cause my mom almost died from a pedicure The salon my mom went wld dig out the sides of the toenail under the skin super aggressively, and they'd often cut the person -I used to go with my mom. The cut she got from that triggered flesh-eating bacteria (it lives on your skin, and a cut/wound can activate it). Thankfully, she survived, barely. (most ppl sadly don't survive FEB). She was on a ventilator in a medical coma, her legs knees down turned black, her blood stopped clotting, and they had a pirest to come for last rights. Somehow, she managed to pull through. She's bee permanently disabled since then; she can't walk unassisted, she lost 2 toes (They honestly thought she'd be a paraplegic tho) and she had to relearn to walk, use her hands,and everything. It took 2 years of physical therapy. It destroyed a lot of her nerves. Just be careful out there, y'all! Make sure the place is safe, regulated, and clean~♡

…. I would hardly call an entire video about tiktok shop “promoting sustainable fashion”. Many of the reviews are an endorsement of sorts and I’m imagine people went searching for some of these items after watching the video. Truly promoting sustainable and ethically sourced fashion would be actually showcasing said fashion- instead of supporting the industry by ordering sand (perhaps unintentionally) influencing people to do the same. Why say “I worry about the ethics” and then go buy said unethical items..

@@nejlak741 I agree with you there- she does more than most by talking about each companies potential product origin. I took it as a way to educate people on their options…. But the tiktok shop video kinda crossed that line for me. Tiktok shop is almost entirely dropped shipped and sourced from manufacturers who pay their workers pennies for each item made. I love Mia but this video was a disappointment 😞

@@ralexandra1058 yeah I also think that Mia does more than most in trying to be aware and talking about where the companies products have been manufactured, for example where she reviewed “Khy” and other influencer brands. And yeah I can imagine the TikTok shop products are terrible in terms of sustainability… TikTok is horrible in and of itself self. Been TikTok free since 2021, after using it for maybe a year.

I am so sorry to hear that. I wouldn’t go anywhere that doesn’t obviously line their tubs and open new packages of tools. If you see them not doing that, it is a red flag and don’t go there. I thankfully have never had that issue but it is possible. I have had other issues with them though so you have to be cautious.
