I'm with yah on that. People get too hung up on 9.8s and 9.6s that make the price embarrassing to mention. 3-7 range is where I'm at. And I have way more because of it. Its the stories that matter most to me rather then collecting slabs though. In any relationship (whether with a hobby you enjoy or person thats apart of your life) do you want to share that connection because of what's on the outside (the cover/ or outter appearance) or the real bond of what's on the inside (their/its story). Collecting slabs are more for the vain who only care about the outward appearance of things cause you can't do nothing but look at its outter appearance to enjoy it. Its flesh so to speak.. Im more of a deeper meaningful person and enjoy the stories and the ability to actually read them and the deeper esoteric allegory the writers hid within them through all of the symbolism. But to each is their own I suppose. Thanks for sharing!
I started collecting X-Men in 1988-- recently completed my run of Giant-Size 1 - 544 (with GS1-200 all graded). After some pickups at SDCC, I'm now about 20 issues away from completing 1-93!
DT, I wanted to see if you would talk a bit about your collecting supplies and process? Bags on CGC books, mylar va poly bags, Egerber (Mylite and Halfback) vs BCW, your cardboard separators in your drawer boxes, your plastic separators and the hard side plastic BCW boxes. I can see that you care about maintaining your collection and wanted to get your insights!
This is really awesome. I am with uou on comic grades. I will take middle of the road so I can have more and I don't feel defeated because I can't find a 9.8 or because I can't afford the 9.8 causing massive gaps in my collection. I collected the original g1 transformers marvel run in its entirety. Now Im aiming for the entire Claremont x-men run.
Congratulations! I'm slowly trying to work in that direction myself. I started collecting them with issue 144. I have all of the issues after that, and maybe random 15-20 issues earlier than that. I'm 8 issues away from having all of Uncanny X-Men volumes 2 and up as well. Kind of wish I hadn't stopped collecting in 1993. There have been a TON of back issues to track down since I started again in 2022.
I’m not even CLOSE to being in his league, but my proudest moments collecting are when I bought all of the Marvel Team-Ups and the Marvel Two-in-Ones. That’s the best I got. 🤷♂️
working on a full run of X men myself but still need 21 more issues to complete the run currently I have every issue from 95 to the current issue. Had to start over because in 2010 my whole collection of X men was stolen out of my apartment and at that time I had every issue from 2 to 517 right now though im strapped for money and cant afford anything at this time but hopefully soon that will change
Nice collection DT! With the X-Men heading to the MCU and the animated series heading on Disney +, I would expect your X-Men comic collection to raise in value really soon! 👍🏽 Also, I wish a statue company would do a 80’s Cyclops version. 🤞🏽
Do you remember me I am the person that had there name as Elizabeth and I would comment what was your favorite statue and stuff love your videos as well
Hello have you ever had the comic (when heroes die)? I believe it’s in the 80’s early 90’s? At least that’s what I think it’s called? The very 1st page I believe cyclops died and then the rest of the X-men died and wolverine was the last xmen, and survived. I can’t find this comic anywhere?
I love X-Men Daddy tube have a awesome day have a absolutely wonderful day good job have a super day have a great day have a nice day have a cool day you are worth it daddy tube
